Ron thought that to increase his chances of impressing Hermione’s parents, he had to get something very important to muggles: a driver’s license. Getting a car is easy (Harry inherited a garage full of different vehicles from Sirius and still, nothing can get him off a broom), but he knows how Hermione is. He has to this the right way.

Harry, who got a license the same summer Dudley did because he’s his uncle’s errand boy, could never resist all the “Don’t crash into that tree” jokes everytime Ron asks for help just because he’s a little bitch. He also always has to remind Ron that “No, this doesn’t fly. No we can’t charm it until you get the license remember? Yes you actually have to be the one to do the work. No we can’t spell the roads.”

It’s a hilarious ordeal and frustrating for Ron but he loves Hermione too much to not commit to it. Harry is just having fun and can’t wait to make of Ron with Hermione.

Ron turned out to be a very good driver, something Harry and Arthur are extremely proud about. Not that their family understands.
