Feeling so upset rn

I scheduled my first appointment with my school counsellor today to discuss some issues and I've been looking forward to this for two days.

I had the time set and waited till the time and it just... didn't happen. There was someone else in there, whether it be overlap, unexpected visit or an extended session, I'm glad that person got their time but mine was lost because of it.

I feel like I just wasted my time, it's 3:24 now and I'm still at school, no appointment and no nothing and feeling worse.

straight people won't really understand the invisible giddiness that you get when your school counsellor is taking an impromptu seminar about love, attraction & friendship as a substitution, and the teacher says "love isn't just between a girl and a boy, or two boys, or two girls". now this she was saying in reference to love not just being romantic, but her words in reference to romantic love shifted something in me. she acknowledged it as something totally normal, as normal as heterosexuality (which it is), that sliver of safety i felt i feel only queer people get it. god knows it's fucking alienating being queer in a country like india, and yeah trust me i have it much better than others, but sometimes it feels like i'm the only one here though this website is literal proof that i'm not.

also side-note she just made me have the world-altering realization that i am actually capable of love because i love my best friend. not much when i say it like that but it's made a huge impact on me. i may not show it (something i'm slowly fixing) but i love that girl with my whole heart. platonically, just to clear any assumptions, but that doesn't make it any less. i love my best friend !!

It’s insane how ignorant (American) school counselors are. They don’t have a degree, they always pick a side, they lie about confidentiality and are just really shitty. I just saw a video where someone was complaining about it. I haven’t gone to a school counselor but some of my friends have. One of them tried to talk about a lot of personal stuff, because the counselor said she wouldn’t tell anyone, and then told his parents. How do counselors not realise this can put kids in danger? It’s awful. Trying to tell them you’re trans or gay just for them to tell your family, without knowing what they’re like can put kids in really bad positions. Talking about your mental health and them doing the same can have similar consequences. I was shocked when the counselor at this new school actually had a psychology degree and stayed pretty neutral and supportive of everyone. They even had a sign in the room telling you what wouldn’t stay private if you shared it. Pretty helpful stuff. Anyways uh. American school counselors suck, and any other countries with bad school hiring stuff. I hope they get better, and am just glad I’m missing out on that now.

Since I'm no longer able to do my former job (kid's mental health therapist) due to disabilities, I've decided to try to sell some of my counseling stuff in hopes of making enough money to, you know, live.

I've added more stuff to my etsy page, including new nature themed bookmarks and a Halloween one, (the eclipse one is , promise. I messed up the glitter glue on the original design so I'm not a fan but I'm doing another!)

Anyway, there's a whole lot of kids books, therapy games, puzzles, sensory stuff, and more on my ebay. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to shoot me a message!! I'm somewhat willing to negotiate on prices but a lot of this stuff I paid really good money for and it's high quality stuff in the field. Not to brag but I did really well with play therapy and neurodivergent kiddos (being neurodivergent myself) so there's a whole ADHD bundle that's actually tried and true for kids and stuff like that.

okay. So like, I went to the school counselor right? We start talking about things and somehow YouTube gets brought up. The counselor ASKS who I watch and I go “well, they aren’t the most appropriate people. Jake Webber and Johnnie Guilbert.” SHE THEN PROCEEDS TO LOOK THEM BOTH UP ON HER COMPUTER‼️ so guyssss your welcome?

When I told my counsellor about me probably being undiagnosed neurodivergent and she said "everyone's on the autism spectrum somewhere" YALL I LIKED THIS WOMAN BEFORE BUT NAHHHHH SHE DID NOT JUST SAY "everyone's a little bit autistic" and she was like "ADHD isn't a mental illness so I can't get rid of it, so what can we do to help you?" And I'm like "idk but I feel emotions and like shit and I don't wanna feel like shit..." Well not those words but likeeeeee.... GUYS HELP...
