He was credited as a producer on 33% of the album yet they keep talking about the two songs Taylor talked about WB writing already…not the additional production credits she gave specifically to her boyish beau on those songs already discussed by Swift in multiple interviews. No one is asking him about the additional production credits on songs she did not credit WB on in the official album booklet or in any discussion ever just to get him the trophy AFTER she won the Grammy. He hasn’t added any substantively new information. He just colored within the lines Taylor drew. I guess he was drunk laying on the couch while she was recording voice memos to send to Aaron and Jack.

So. Tae said that he would like to try for the grammys next year. And I support that. They deserve it. They deserve to be recognized. But if they Scammies pull some stupid ish again I'm going to pull out so fast it won't be funny. We know what to expect this time around. And ARMY is one seriously powerful fan base. We can drag the grammies like we did Jason Derulo. Fighting ARMY. We believe in our boys 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Her fans on Twitter aren't going to be happy about what she just said, they were celebrating the AOTY nomination for evermore as "JA's" album and barely even mentioned Taylor in relation to it up until the day it was announced the Grammy's were postponed. Taylor knows the real marketing power in her current PR narrative lies in letting people continue to think JA does everything for her including writing all her music for her, right? 🙈

You all came with the right energy. She did walk herself into this that’s why the grammys nonsense hurt. Because she literally went against everything she had previously said. Especially during lover era when she was grown and ready to come at people’s throats. Then she threw it all away and we had to read articles that referred to him as grammy award winner totally ignoring the fact Taylor made history on her own that night. And watch her fans glorify this nobody.
So my excitement is in who taylor was during lover era poking out. But you all are so right that she walked into this dog poopoo herself. But still, like Anon # 4 said: This is a perfect example of yt male privilege. Walking in off the street and the world believing you deserve to be wherever you are with no credentials. He is literally the definition of Joe blow.
Tumblr media
And the worst bit is that folklore/evermore nonsense was all it took for some bitter artist to feel comfortable enough to disregard her talent and credibility completely. It sucks so much.
Just going to link two old posts I made that cover the most of my feelings on the topic:

The Grammy's have been moved to April 3rd, which is right after the Oscars, so I'm very glad that evermore was only nominated for Album of The Year so that everyone who watches them excluding Sw*fties would rightfully cry foul play/bribery if Taylor won, because Taylor bought Toe a Grammy the day before last year's Academy Awards since both he and she know he'll never get nominated for an Oscar, let alone win one.
I'm very glad Taylor can't bribe the Recording Academy into selecting evermore for AOTY without tanking her career with bribery accusations, which is honestly tragic at this point that I'm rooting for her to lose awards instead of "winning" them, but here we are, I guess 🤷🏼

Ah, the Grammys makes me so mad, every little thing about it! Your thoughts prompted more questions for me: I do hope this retroactive award for JA is part of a scheme to expose the bs of the Grammys, but I feel like it didn't get all that much attention! Sure there were a couple of articles on TeenVogue and maybe some other entertainment sites, but I don't think it got major attention. And that in itself makes me suspect that he even got an award! Yeah, his name is on the official Grammys website, but I'm skeptical. And yeah, Taylor's team didn't refute it when articles were published, and that just confirms that it's true (or at least that that's the story they want the general public to think is true). So maybe you're right and it's something that will build over time and somewhere down the road there will be a big exposure and this will be a little piece that made some minds more open to accepting that the whole thing is a sham. But in the meantime I'm sitting here thinking, why?
Oh here my mind goes down this rambling mystery subject! I hope one day (soon) someone shines a light on all this weirdness! Crossing my fingers for a beard shave (or two) this year.
Merry wishes to you and gratitude for all you do!
Yeah your questions are valid. That “why” truly has left us all haunted.
Happy holidays to you too anon!

Hello! You're my favorite kaylor&gaylor blog. And I have to ask: in your opinion what's the most likely reason she had to give toe a grammy??? I thought she really valued grammy but this sleight of hand....😭😭
Thank you for those kind words anon! 🥲💜🎄
Your question is one many of us in this corner of the interweb have wondered. I have two rambly theories that intersect.
Theory 1: this was part of an artist-wide plan to expose the hole in the voting process. I feel like we have watched for years (decades even) as the recording academy snubbed various artists. We also saw a huge shift in the industry over fair compensation and recognition for all those who worked on an album. I think Taylor agreed to be part of a plan to expose the recording academy’s flawed system. And choosing someone like her to do it when she has benefitted so much from that award show is smart pull. It’s one of the reasons why I think Taylor sharing the Beyoncé floral arrangement was something more than what it was. Beyoncé stopped supporting the grammys years ago but she came literally just for her and Meg’s award then left. Whatever is going on behind the scenes I think it was major artists and top producers planning to taint the public’s view of the award show more explicitly.
Theory 2: now Taylor doesn’t do anything career-wise just because someone asked. She and her team work hard to make sure whatever comes of it it is a mutually beneficial arrangement. I think she saw crediting JA as a pr move for solidifying her fake relationship as well as a way to show how easy it is to credit people who don’t deserve it so they can get a trophy. But mostly it legitimizes a relationship when she can’t pap walk during a pandemic. There was also probably pressure from JA’s team who realized that this arrangement wasn’t benefitting him either. For the record JA still isn’t credited on the copyright. So most of what Taylor did feels like it was for public perception rather than reality.
These theories intersect in a weird way because from the outside looking in all taylor did was give people like scootscoot the right to throw their name on an artist (they basically own)’s song credits when they did absolutely nothing artistically to deserve it so they can get a trophy and maybe even cut into the royalty distribution. This to me runs completely counter to her position during her billboard woman of the decade speech. In that speech and in many discussions she has said private equity is killing artists and we need to find a way to credit creators fairly. Because without artists there is no money for the private equity folks to take. But maybe it is part of a long game to show that it’s never been about art or talent it’s about who has enough money and power to get the recording academy to ignore everything else. The grammys is an award show. Most of it is about ensuring viewership. And many major artists don’t go unless they are guaranteed a win because they know the Grammy’s use their appearance to boost viewership from their fandoms. It’s a weird power dynamic. Maybe this is all just a way to open the public’s eyes so they realize they have the power to change this kind of stuff. As the consumer you are what all these rich people need in order to stay rich.
This is very rambly because I really don’t know. All I know is that her reason for doing it really messed up my entire view of her pr and the value of her art to her. She gave it away to a non-artist like it meant nothing to her. Maybe folklore and evermore really meant nothing to her. Maybe it was just a fun little pastime she didn’t care to lose. Idk. But for someone like me who can laugh at all the pr because I love the art and the artist, it made this tough.
Idk what is happening behind the scenes but we saw taylor swift and friend’s nominations for Olivia Rodrigo’s song removed after it was announced. So it definitely feels like it’s still a work in progress. Maybe they should cancel the show all together. Lol Idk.
But yeah that’s what I think. Sorry this is so long. I hope it makes some sense lol

I know you don’t want to talk more about it but it is kinda crazy there are like 60 people nominated for AOTY for just one album. Do all of them get a trophy? Literally everybody will get a grammy and it is already easy to get one 😭😭
Petition to get the doordash/uber eats delivery person who came into the studio to drop off food while they were setting up to record a grammy.

"it rubs me the wrong way that a certain executive earned a major nomination just by slapping his name onto the songwriting credits of an album's deluxe version #GRAMMYs"
The All Knower tweeted this. Which is in reference to 🛴 added himself as a songwriter. Ha. Yeah, he's trash, but ummm... no different than Toe being added as producer on folklore AFTER Grammys were over.
The recording academy is a joke.
I have to protect my peace on this topic. It just hurts my spirit. All of it.

Hoping Taylor makes sure to add her boyish beau’s name to 33% of the production credits for evermore before the September cutoff date or at least before the voting period closes or at least before the award show or at least before she wins the award.
For reference: As of today May 4th “William Bowery” (the pseudonym she said belongs to Joe in the documentary where she also said he only worked on two songs for folklore) is only credited as a songwriter on 3 songs out of the 17 track deluxe album (champagne problems, Coney Island, and evermore).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In order to meet the 33% threshold requirement Taylor would need to add her boyish beau’s name to at least 3 more songs as well as add his real name I guess to the other 3 songs as a co-writer or include his name as a producer to 6 songs.
In case you were wondering:
What does a music producer do?

Cowboy Like Me has taken on a whole new meaning since the Grammys ploy. If people want to believe that is a Joe song go for it. Totally makes sense.
“You're a bandit like me. Eyes full of stars. Hustling for the good life. Never thought I'd meet you here. It could be love. We could be the way forward. And I know I'll pay for it.”
You meet this guy at a party. He said hey I know you’re queer and looking for a beard. I’m looking for a career. I think we’d make a good team. You scratch my back, I play your pet. And boom you have a committed relationship in the public’s eyes and you can do whatever the hell you want behind the scenes. It’s the dream.
