"likes do nothing!" " Don't like my art if you won't reblog it!" I garentee you just lost at least 5 followers, made someone feel guilty for putting their reblog in their queue and are killing any traction than you thought you'd gain.

Listen. I'm an artist, a struggling one at that, but I still can not for the life of me find the source of audacity for some artists on Tumblr. First off! Lets dispell the myth that " likes don't do anything". Tumblr LITTERALLY has a feature that lets you see content similar to the things you've liked. You've probably turned it off but it's still there! Many people still have it on! Not to mention that the more likes something has, the more likely it is to appear at the top of its respective tag so yes, likes are doing something.

Second off: you are not entitled to your follower's followers. You are not entitled to your follower's blog space. Your not entitled to their podium and you arnt entitled to their attention. The amount of you who act like because someone liked your art and wants to see more of it, your entitled to their all their time, energy and attention is ridiculous. I do not owe anyone my platform. I don't owe you jack shit. No one dose!

What so many of these Tumblr artists who put little banners at the bottom of their art that say " reblogs > likes!!" Want amounts to.... Well... free labor. They are demanding that their following do this cool thing called networking and billboarding. Basically, they are demanding that because your receiving their content for free( despite them not understanding that free doesn't include litterally anything other than being free. No favors attached. Also no one is demanding that they give up their content for free, that was their choice.) you owe it to them to share them on your platform. To give them more exposure and talk about them to your friends so they get more followers and more attention. Did you know that that counts as labor? That being a networker and billboard is a paid gig?

Like I'm sorry no, your art isn't entitled to my platform because I choose to consume your free content. This is literally no different from people parroting and guilting their friends into buying an overpriced amazon-bought molded resin ashtray for fifty dollars so you can say you "supported your friend's small business." You don't wanna be a capitalist pig now do you?

If you have to guilt your followers to get attention to your art, your art isn't good enough to be shared and honestly? Your probably an entitled brat. Your also building up an unimaginable resentment in your following that will eventually kill your oldest supporters and scare away new ones. Whenever I see an artist I supported going on tirade after tirade about how people are liking their content but no one is reblogging it and how we clearly want their art to die and don't support them despite them producing art only for a small fandom and their art getting 300+ likes and 50 reblogs, I just look down on you like your a fucking toddler on the floor crying about not getting a third popsicle. Your so childish and entitled, you can't even enjoy the attention and support you are receiving, why the hell would I wanna give you more?

Some of you need to remember to appreciate that your even getting attention at all. Your certainly not entitled to it and you certainly arnt using it for good. Your whining and crying that we aren't petting your head and whipeing your ass. Get it together. Your not Picasso. Your not da Vinci. Your making five nights at Freddy's fan art. Your drawing YouTubers as plants. Your writing deku fanfiction. This isn't your magnum opus and you arnt entitled to the attention it would recieve.

It was your choice and your gambit to spend 300+ hours on that marvel x sonic cross over movie poster, you can't cry when the chips fall and you only get three likes. Its one thing to love your audience and it's another to try and dictate them. Sorry but your not convincing and the crowd is leaving. Learn to be better.

that's it that's the movie

outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative

actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.

aka Michael Myers Is A Republican

but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too

also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain

side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty

i like how the Final Girl and her friend casually smoke weed in her car. yeah she's an honor student and her friend is the sheriff's daughter. yeah they smoke weed. so what it's 1978

(to reiterate, mike is 21 and should be at the club. im not saying he shouldn't be rampaging, im saying it's sad that he broke out, tasted freedom for the first time in his life, and immediately snuck back into his childhood home to go rampaging. let's have a remake where he goes to a nightclub and has a few beers. maybe some slutty dancing. then rampage)

saw someone saying something like "do you really think veilguard story would be better if you could do evil choices?" and actually yeah. i think if they let us act more like the dreadwolf on the "you are a paralellism to the dreadwolf" game, it would be more significant when the story tells you "you are a bit like him/you are nothing like him" because , thats how you chosed to play it.

I think this is one of my favorite lines from the Wraith route because of (imo) how much the meaning changes depending on if you got there via Spectre or Nightmare. For Spectre, it honestly strikes me as a genuine question. Why are you doing this to her? If you're on the Spectre route, you presumably already know the Narrator can't really be trusted, since you had to reject his reward to get here. What are you hoping to gain from continuing to hurt her? For Nightmare, it honestly just makes me sad. As the Shifting Mound describes her, "She desires only companionship, but the only thing she knows is how to hurt." This line feels like a plea from someone who genuinely doesn't understand why you keep rejecting her. She wants to be with you, but she just can't understand how to do that in a way which doesn't hurt you.

#at the risk of getting put on a list there is something tragic & relatable in nightmare #someone who desperately wants to make connections but just can't understand how #anyway wraith is one of my favorite princesses for stuff like this (and bc tragedy aside her route is a riot)#also im sorry if she doesn't say that line if you got there via nightmare #that's how i got her and i could've sworn she did? But i only found footage of her saying it in spectre #slay the princess #stp #stp wraith #the wraith #stp spectre #stp nightmare #side note archetypal/heart #(slash so i don't accidentally tag them)#pointed out on another post of mine that you get wraith via nightmare by killing her and via spectre by leaving her in the basement #in both cases its a rejection of her (rejection being one of wraith's main themes)#which makes me speculate on spectre's ch 3 (which i think we currently have very little info on?)#Trying to run from Nightmare should technically be a 'rejection' as well #but you get MOC from that (and from choosing to stay with her)#imo bc you're just repeating the same inaction which got you into this situation in the first place #you don't want to slay her. you don't want to set her free. Y'know I'm still thinking about Shepard's resurrection because after the initial wtf wears off, after you’ve resigned yourself to your cerberus crew, recruited a few people you feel you can halfway trust and maybe even one or two you know have your back - then you wind up on Illium and Liara pays your docking fees and you're kind of excited because hallelujah someone you know. Someone you trust!

And then you find out she's the one who put you here in the first place.

I keep thinking about being rebuilt by your enemies. Accepting the fact that they found you first, that this is just how it is. How it was always going to be - and then finding out one of the people you trusted. Maybe even one of the people you loved was the one who gave your body to them in the first place.

I think it's just that sometimes the good things fuck you up worse than the bad ones because it's good to not be dead right? To be loved to such an extreme that someone would go to those lengths to have you back… That’s a gift isn’t it? Nevermind what it does to you right?

You can admit to yourself, to others that the bad things were bad. But Isn’t it good to have a healed body and advanced cybernetics and all of the strength and skill with none of the scars you’ve earned through your life? Aren't you grateful to be alive? Aren't you happy to be loved? Aren't you proud to be brought back to save lives?

Does it matter whether you are or not?

I dunno dude it just fucks me up.

#Anyway the Liara revelation fascinates me because its not framed as a betrayal exactly but it /feels/ like one #Especially with the Akuze background or if you’re playing Paragon. Cerberus flies in the face of everything you stand for #And that decision is made for you and its so interesting. My two greatest character flaws are that I'm cranky and lazy.

My third greatest character flaw is the acute lack of compassion for people who smuggle exotic animals (like a serval) into a country where they are illegal (like norway) because keeping one as a pet is 'their dream' and then throw a pity party when said animal is seized and at risk of euthanasia. I'm sorry pal but you did that.

#maybe your ~dream~ to have an animal shouldnt outweigh the health and safety of that animal #just a thought #i feel mostly the same abt people who import illegal dog breeds. regardless of whether i think the law is unfounded #or how hard it is to actually accurately manage #there is no way you went through the hassle of importing an apbt to norway without finding out its a banned breed. that is a choice you mad #so if you had to smuggle a baby african feline. across the goddamn border. only for the authorities to go #'hey. thats not allowed'#then those are the consequences of your actions and not a whole lot else #you can disagree with the rules in the world you live in but that doesnt make you exempt from them #sorry for the animal! the owner not so much.

Actually i have more. This is kinda different but while im here. The funniest thing i ever saw was this lady who wrote exclusively abt gay men. And listed in her hard no’s section (right next to bestiality) was ‘trans people’. Her reasoning was, no joke, «im cis so i dont wanna get their experiences wrong<3»
