Cockatrice Ankake and an Eastern Style Meal
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Got my trusty clay pot out to make this one. Ground turkey for the cockatrice stir fried with pumpkin and kohlrabi with some soy sauces, ginger, white pepper, and shaoxing wine for seasoning. Used dashi (from the other dish's seaweed soup), soy sauce, mirin, sake, and corn starch for the egg sauce. Came out really well but a bit wet on the bottom so I didn't get as much of the crispy grains I wanted. Maybe because the barley was precooked.

Most of Maizuru's meal I got from the store. They had shochujikomi mackerel in the freezer area that I baked up and I had a bunch of pickles saved up in the fridge that I pulled an assortment of. Made my own simple seaweed soup and onigiri.
So filling, we couldn't even get through half of it tonight. A couple more pics of the components of the bowl below the cut!

Ever since I started cooking more, I keep seeing videos from a lady who cooks for her 3 kids and husband using veggies and fruit from her garden and some "cheap" products (I use quotation marks because nothing is cheap anymore). And istg EVERYONE is judging her for everything - the quantity of salt, spices oil, fried stuff, fillings, sauces, everything!
And now I saw the same type of video about a low income middle class mom cooking not for a family of 7, but 7. Most comments are very positive despite the food looking like shit to me (I am not American, so I don't get their taste and dishes unlike the other mom and her nostalgic recipes), but this one and the reply...

there are many ways in which a fandom may be considered horrendous but one excellent metric is how fast you get blocked/deleted/death threatened for giffing, drawing, or mentioning an entirely canonical event without even adding personal commentary lmao

*squints suspiciously* Is "Salty Porridge" a nod to SVSSS? Because I know the pinyin is supposed to be xián zhōu BUT if you ask someone who doesn't know pinyin they might take the lazy route and use "s" and "j"...
...I don't know enough Chinese to make a pun like that, haha. It's actually a nod to The Trouble with Politics, where Jin Ling went by the pet name/baby name Youyou (also a food name) for a couple of years.

Damn you have some nerve celebrating a win like this against a team that’s relegation fodder hahaha 😆 Yes you are very much obsessed with Ten Hag hence you are under the impression he will build a dynasty here. Like it or not he’s getting that boot 🥾 when the season is gone in October or so.
I didn’t say he’s going to build a dynasty here, I said United has a dynasty to rebuild; he’s a part of that process. He might build a dynasty here, the conditions to do so are starting to come together. But he might just be another stepping stone, and that’s fine. I’m focused on the process, the building. If we could’ve done it under Ole, I would’ve been fine with it. I backed him until I felt it was time to change direction because he was impeding the process. I’m a big fan of Ten Hag because he’s doing what Ole couldn’t and wouldn’t: he’s moving the process along. INEOS never would’ve come if Ole was still here, the Qataris wouldn’t have bid for the club either, and they didn’t.
Hell yeah I celebrated this win, that’s what real supporters do. 🙌🏾 You think we won all of our titles by only beating Liverpool or Arsenal? When my team wins, I celebrate it. If you’re a United fan, if anyone’s obsessed it’s you. You can’t even be happy when your team wins, that’s a really sad place to be in. If you’re not a fan, you’re just a troll who thinks he’s going to rattle me; clearly, you don’t know me. I eat trolls for breakfast. I think I’ll put a little salt on you when October’s gone and he’s still here. 😂

My brain is absolutely joyfully gnawing in all the electronica/trance/dubstep/mongolian death metal dad is just. Haphazardly playing out of his library as we drive along to key west.
Sometimes it feels so nice to be The Same
