“Okay, warning, she is a little…” JJ started, standing in front of the door.

“Just say it.” John B sighed.

“Hesitant about this whole hostin’ thing.” He tilted his head to the side, and opened up the door.

“Y/n?” He called out, hanging his hat up on a rack, and motioning for John B to do the same. You came into his vision, eyes widening at what you saw.

The man that the police had put up posters of was in your living room. He was considered “armed and dangerous.” But he looked like neither. He peeked out from behind JJ, clearly hesitating to be inside your home.

“H- hi.” You gave him a little wave, JJ wrapped his arms around you, hugging you and giving you a kiss on the cheek.

“He’s fine, honey. He ain’t gonna do nothing.” He told you quietly, stepping away from you.

“I uh- fixed up a spare room.” You motioned to the room on the side.

“Thank you, ma’am.” John B nodded, following JJ to the room.

Now JJ had always been the best husband you could ask for. He supported you in your dreams and decisions, even when it went against a bunch of the towns norms, he was the sweetest, most caring man you could get.

His flaw? He was an outlaw, and tended to get into business with the wrong people.

JJ came back out the room, letting John B get settled in.

“How long did you say was he gonna be here again?” You asked JJ.

“However long it takes to get the sheriff off his back. But you don’t gotta worry about him, swear.”

After a few days, you got used to the man. He was kind, always thankful. You didn’t have to worry about him. At least not in the way you thought you would.

JJ had spent every living moment with John B. More than you, you felt like. Were you jealous? Nope. Absolutely not. Maybe a little…

You pretended to not care, acting like it was fine.

You both sat on the porch, finally getting a moment to yourselves. He sat with his head in your lap, your hands running through his hair, that was until the door opened and he jolted away, looking over to John B.

“Hey, dude!” JJ cheered, you huffed and just leaned back, watching them talk, John B sitting next to him. You played with the hem of your shirt, letting out quiet sighs, hoping JJ would pick up on your feelings. He didn’t.

It was that night in bed, when he said goodnight to John B and went under the covers, that you asked him.

“Are you in love with him or something?”

“What? No.” He laughed at you. “What’s this about, baby?”

“It’s just..” you huffed again. “I feel like since he’s been here, all you’ve been doing is talking with him. I don’t wanna be that jealous annoying wife but..”

He smiled, finding your jealousy amusing.

“He’s my best friend. Sorry if you feel like that, but I ain’t trying to ignore you.”

“It feels like you are.” You muttered, pulling the covers over you, turning away.

“Aw. C’mere, sweetheart.” He wrapped his arms around you, his front facing your back. “I love ya. You know that. No need to feel jealous.” He nuzzled his face into your neck, pressing a kiss onto your skin.

“I know.” You murmured. “Love you too.”

“You’re so cute. Gettin’ jealous over everything and anything. I like it. It’s hot.” He spoke against your skin, his talking muffled slightly.

“Oh, yeah?” You asked, turning to face him with a quirked brow.

“Hell yeah.” He smiled, both of you going underneath the covers.

Ok so I guess this is a weird question, but what do you think about wally and dick being in a relationship? would it be healthy? would it last long? all those types of questions. I've been getting into dc recently, and I've been starting to realize alot of people ship those two, admittedly I can see why, I'm starting to like them too. Pretty sure I saw someone call them every Dick Grayson/Wally West stan "required phase", it would be a life if I said I didn't snort at that. In fact I think that if Dick and Wally ever got into a canonical relationship, they would never ever break up which would be a massive problem for DC because DC needs their IT boy Dick Grayson to be shipped with as many people as possible. lol.

No but really the reason they're so great together is because Wally really, really cares about Dick's mental health. He's canonically made it his mission to make sure Dick is happy and safe and he loves his best friend so much. Dick has grown up with wally since they were tiny kids and he knows every detail of Wally's life and loves him. The Flash Plus comic is just the two of them being best buddies.

So considering the amount of love and care Wally and Dick have for each other. In Titans (2016) Wally literally writes a love letter to Dick. (they call it a friendship letter but c'mon who're they tryna fool.)

I genuinely don't think it's possible for Dick to have a healthier relationship with anyone than he does with Wally. They're like cotton candy, white snow, salsa mix love. The purest, softest, fluffiest romance with a whirlpool of fun and excitement.

Something Wally mourns a lot in the comics is his loss of contact with Dick.

The reason they don't talk as much is because Wally is busy with Linda and Dick can't just third wheel a marriage. I mean he sort of already does but anymore than now and he would be living with them. Permanently.

I think the only issue they would have is the different cities. Neither of them would be willing to move because Wally loves Central City and Dick loves Bludhaven. However they would still be able to maintain a long distance relationship easily because even as friends they go on annual vacations, just the two of them, simply to hang out with each other. Also the occasional drop ins.

The only time Dick and Wally have fought is when Dick is refusing self-care and Wally is so mad at him for neglecting his mental health. But even then it's more of a - fine. I'm leaving you alone for now until you get your stuff together. I know you can do it. - type thing. They would definitely work out despite the separate cities thing because Wally has unconditional trust and love for Dick and Dick loves Wally .just as much.

Besides, living in two cities is no problem for a speedster

They're the classic childhood friends to lovers trope without all the backstabbing and betrayal stuff you see in movies. It doesn't matter if people even ship them or not at this point because if you asked them they would probably just marry each other and call it "bromance."

Kdramas i've watched this year

Some of these are older dramas but i'm a procrastinator

Black Knight (2023): Loved this one! I have watched it probably 5 times now. Kim Woobin kicking ass is all i need!

Under the Queen's Umbrella (2022): I didn't watch this when it aired (no idea why). I was worried that the plot would be overrun by romance but thankfully i was wrong. Loved Kim Hye-Soo's performance (i cried a little).

Island seasons 1 & 2 (2022-2023): Honestly i only started this one for Kim Nam-Gil. I loved the cast, but the flow of the plot was a little off (don't know how, i can't put a finger on it). Was positively suprised by Cha Eun-Woo's acting, i think he needs more roles like this! Hot villain alert no.1! Sung Joon as a bad guy is either a blessing or a curse. Cgi could have been better.

Taxi Driver season 2 (2023): Loved the first season so of course i had to watch the second one. Love Lee Je-Hoon. Love the main characters. Love the plot and the message of this drama. A masterpiece. Waiting for season 3.

Weak Hero Class 1 (2022): Only heard of this drama wayyy after it aired (thanks tiktok) and god does it deserve every award there is! I was a bit hesitant because Park Ji-Hoon was the main lead, but boy was i wrong because his talent got me speechless (weren't we all). I cried, i cheered, i shadowboxed, i cried a little more and in the end i called my therapist. Thankfully season 2 is coming.

Bloodhounds (2023): Woo Do-whan and Lee Sang-Yi in the same drama beating people up? Yes please! The plot wasn't mindblowing, but sometimes just simple ass kicking is enough. Bromance was bromancing. Park Sung-Woong with another great villain character.

Revenant (2023): After dropping Mr.Sunshine i wanted to see Kim Tae-ri in other dramas, so when this aired i gave it a go. Her range is phenomenal! I have only seen couple spookier dramas, so i made a mistake and watched this at night (slept with the lights on). The eerie vibes and plot twists were well made. Hong Kyung had great chemistry with Kim Tae-ri and his cop role was refreshing to see after his performance in Weak Hero Class (if you know you know).

Flower of Evil (2020): Okay, this is one of the dramas i procrastinated hard on. It's been sitting on my "have to watch" list since it aired and i'm the only one to blame (i hype up a drama in my mind, then don't want to watch it because now i'm afraid it doesn't go the way i think it does and then i get disappointed blaablaablaa). This year i finally got over myself and why. didn't. i. watch. it. sooner!!!! It is all i ever wanted in a kdrama. 1. serial killers 2. a psychopath (but is he really?) w/ an effed up childhood 3. mindgames 4. marriage problems (but has a lot of soft & cute scenes) 5. Lee Joon-Gi. Also as a plus (hot villain alert no.2) the bad guy is kindaa (i'm sane i swear). I would be lying if i didn't say that i found the wife slightly annoying (might be me, but she went too much back & forth and sometimes i had to take a breather while watching), but all in all this drama will be hard to top and i fell in love with Lee Joon-Gi.

Moving (2023): Honestly one of the best dramas of the year. I don't usually really go for plots that have a lot of romance in them (if you haven't noticed), but i found this one to be really well balanced and the romance scenes weren't "cringy". Although Bong-Seok and Hui-Soo were great and had great chemistry, i looooved the background stories of the parents. Park Hee-Soon also pops up as kind of a non-villain villain. I hope there is a season 2.

Song of the Bandits (2023): Kim Nam-Gil again. 1920s Korea and gunslingers... what more could i need? After Mr. Sunshine left me with a disappointment (this might be an unpopular opinion) i craved for a drama set around the same time period, but with a little less romance (i know, i am defective). I think dramas should explore this time period more, but i understand it might still be a touchy subject. The skills of the cast were obviously great, Kim Nam-Gil killed his role like always, but Lee Ho-Jung as Eon-Nyeon shined with her performance (i am now a new fan). Hot villain alert no.3! I have seen Lee Hyun-Wook in Remarriage & Desires and seeing him as a villain made me feel things. If there isn't a second season i will cry.

The Killing Vote (2023): A "serial killer" in a dog mask making the public vote on punishing criminals and everyone suspects each other? Cyber crime? Chemistry between two cops? Major hot villain (no.4)? Sign me up. I love when crime dramas make you question your people reading skills (i have the tism so i really got none) and have all kinds of theories flying around. I liked that even Kim Mu-Chan and Joo Hyun had obvious chemistry between them it didn't overshadow the main point of the plot. I liked Seo Young-Joo's delivery and i hope he gets more bigger roles. Kim Kwon.... why does the psychopath have to be hot? He also needs more bigger roles. !spoiler! Also Park Sung-Woong killing (heh) yet another morally grey character.

The Worst of Evil (2023): Okay, first of all i have to say... the wife ruined everything (some agree and some don't). We get another bromance duo of the year with Wi Ha-Joon and Ji Chang-Wook. Loved the crime organization infiltration plot, heavily despised the romance plot (sorry Bibi baby). I was constantly on the edge of my seat and the characters started to get so morally grey that in the end everyone needs group therapy. Action scenes were chefs kiss. A honorable mention goes for Lee Shin-Ki as Seo Jong-Ryul (or Chief Seo, knife guy, the man has many names) and Bibi for her performance as Lee Hae-Ryeon.

Evilive (2023): Heavily underrated. Kim Young-Kwang doing what he does best, playing a psychopath. This combined with a bromance plot with the one and only bromance master Shin Ha-Kyun? I'm sold. The dramas literal title "villain story" really sums up the plot. Sometimes you are not sure who to cheer for. Sometimes you are not really sure about your own sanity. But to be fair, so aren't the main characters.

Vigilante (2023): Love it. Currently re-watching it. Needs more attention. Needs more episodes. I'm in love with Nam Joo-Hyuk. The best crime drama of the year, the title is all i needed to hear. Beating up criminals in well made action scenes is my favorite genre. No romance. One sided bromance? Morally grey characters (am i repeating myself now?). Yoon Ji-Tae as a beefy cop and Lee Joon-Hyuk as a slightly insane admirer? If we don't get a season 2 i will start a riot.

I just think it’s funny how authors will create the most powerful and beautiful friendship/rivalries and in the same breath give us the blandest romance ever. The bar is literally in hell for heterosexual love and I think it’s not only very telling but also super sad. I want better for my girls cause imagine getting married to a man only for him to abandon you during 12 years cause he’d rather travel the world to make amends for hurting his boyfriend when they were kids (Kishi I’m looking at you)

Listen,“I love you” is just too simple and boring for the queers. Some seasoning needs to be added to get that immaculate flavour we all love lol. The authors can’t openly write “I’m in love with you” so they need to use convoluted ways to express it and atp I’m not even mad anymore.

I wouldn’t mind a few kisses tho. Or backshots. Idk. A yaoi audio maybe?

Oh and another thing I’ve learned from anime is the extreme danger of unchecked twinks (ahem Griffith ahem Ryo ahem Pucci). If Guts took one for the team perhaps none of that shit would have happened (hence the importance of backshots). I also believe that having just a little bit of sex would have saved SatoSugu as well (Geto just needed to sit on someone’s face. He wanted a throne so bad lol)

They ain’t got nothing on the sapphics tho. Girls will destroy the world, reset the universe, defile their goddess gf and kill themselves just for a kiss, and I love that for them.

Its because subtlty will always be more impactful then on the nose romance. At least for me. You dont need them kissing or talking love stuff on screen cause u know they do it behind the scenes and you can imagine how the do it through the way they subtly flirt on screen. Shipping will always be more popular than canonical ships. This goes both with gay and straight couples.

I cant even think of a canonical ship i like tbh.

Lando's eyes always sparkle when he looks at Oscar and it captures my heart every time. You can see that Lando likes Oscar very much and his eyes don't even hide it. God, their relationship is so intimate that sometimes it's hard to watch without feeling like a third wheel. Oscar, I don't know how you did it, but as a Lando fan, I'm grateful that I get to see this version of Lando every time he's around you.

like, Lando is someone who goes through life looking for romance and he so easily gets a crush on anyone who populates his world with something special or beautiful. that's what has made Oscar such a unique relationship for Lando because Oscar doesn't consider himself or his life at all in the world of romance or fantasy. he considers himself extremely practical, "low frequency" and enjoying the simple things in life. he's not at all a typical heroic figure like Carlos or a big camera-ready personality like Daniel. Lando's interest in Oscar has been a slow but steady curiosity that has grown even without Oscar initiating a joint hobby or going on outings together or playing up a bromance for fans. Lando was definitely a little unmoored by the lack of all of that for a while!

the only two aberrations in Oscar's calm and cool are his pursuit of F1 and his fascination with Lando, which we know to have been intertwined as early as him moving to the UK at 14. there is serious romance in the way they ended up as teammates and major drama of Oscar's determination to get that seat.

but! then there's Lando saying how he sees them as similar to each other back in July 2023! bc Lando had always used self-mockery to interrupt his moments of earnestness and in a lot of ways was always striving to be Just A Guy to fit in with the guys in his life. his creativity would pop out very occasionally but mostly he became known for being naturally funny and able to click with just about anyone by matching their energy and adapting to their humor. he even took great pride in The Lando Effect - which ironically was more about Lando changing to suit Carlos and Daniel, who he has almost separate versions of himself with. he was the baby brother as always, wanting to hang out with his older brothers and wanting to fit in.

and then he gets Oscar as a teammate who seems content to just stay back and watch Lando and observe Lando and learn everything about Lando he doesn't already know. who seems to have no limit when it comes to handling the full range of Lando's personality and never tells - or even jokes - that Lando should change a single thing, even when it directly impacts Oscar. Lando doesn't have to match Oscar's energy and it turns out! they both like it best when Lando doesn't try!

which is when we started seeing lando.jpg reemerge and 7 podiums and a new hunger for even more and higher expectations of himself and a calmer, more authentic - less cartoonish - Lando on camera in challenges and social media. he even said how Oscar taught him by example the importance of "keeping calm and being yourself". of course silly, fun Lando is still there! he's still little brother to Carlos and Daniel and George and Alex! but those are now some of the many facets we've gotten to see in the past 14 months!

the winter break was a revelation because Lando spoke to fans solely through his camera lens and the reflections of the beautiful world he saw as he traveled. no goofing, no pretense, no corporate. his chosen pose for all his photos was partly in fun, partly symbolic of his confidence that he didn't need to sell these photos as selfies for them to blow up all over social media.

and all the while Oscar was quietly on his own down time and training, liking Lando's posts and saying "you went everywhere!" and listening to Lando recount it all.

then Lando came back to work this year and everything about him wore a new sheen of beauty and romance to it, including him having grown more beautiful. he's used his beauty more consciously when modeling and even LN4 and Quadrant took on a more stylized look. his new McLaren contract announcement was an entire aesthetic complete with a short film.

like, obv this whole post is me going off on a whole stupid thing but just. Lando was always meant to live his life in a unique way and he was always meant to see things through romance and art and music. he wasn't supposed to apologize for enjoying racing as a means of attaining perfection one day. and there's Oscar who reflects back to Lando all the quirks and things that make Lando unique that he's memorized over the years, listening to Lando's music in place of the usual silence in his own driver's room, helping Lando navigate unknown food and new lengthy words and knowing when Lando is comfortable to take the lead in public speaking and when Lando needs Oscar to step in and handle it. pushing Lando all the time as a teammate and the whole friction creates the pearl analogy.

idk it's just not as huge a leap as I thought last year to say that Oscar's comfortable, placid life has long had a splash of color in it at last in some part because of Lando and that Lando has become the most authentic and brilliant version of himself at least in some part because Oscar is there to always appreciate it.

like this little moment of Lando giving Oscar a nickname and Oscar finding it the best thing he's ever heard and Lando's half-stunned and delighted smile at being able to do that to Oscar is just all of that distilled:

Oscar's confidence has returned and he's smoothing over the awkward PR duties while Lando is relaxed and confident and the little quips like this just come so naturally. (the way Lando actually wriggles in his chair with delight over Oscar's reaction !!) like, Lando doesn't have to try ! he doesn't have to try to be anyone but himself ! there's someone here at work with him all day and every day who is delighted by him no matter what !

and what's even better is apparently! now that they both understand and exist on that wavelength together, they've returned from winter break circling around each other and looking for each other more than they ever have <3

jamie is definitely the soft one, he treats you like a princess. does everything for you and wants you all the time

roy on the other hand was a bit more harder. he is a softie inside and only lets you see this side when you two were alone, you loved it though. but when jamie is around, he is this big, rough teddy bear

at the end of the day, you three were laying on bed, jamie in the middle of you and roy, his head was laying on your chest and roy was spooning him from behind

It had been the product of many therapy sessions and, simultaneously, a spur of the moment decision after Bella pushed him once more to get out of the house. 

He liked helping people, he liked that within a week or so working he easily could recognize people and they were warming up to him — the actual people needing the charity’s services and his coworkers —, he liked using his pushy personality for a good thing and not feeling one bit guilty about it. 

His superior was a woman in her late seventies, named Sylvie. Sylvie smoked too much and she had wrinkly fingers, washed out fingerprints by years of working with her hands, and a big white afro that contrasted against her small face. She wore golden rimmed glasses that covered half of her face and purplish lipstick. 

Sylvie was attached to Welton’s Non Governmental CoAlliance since the sixties, had basically grown alongside with it, and no one would or could ever accuse her of being uncaring, even if she was rather practical and cynical. 

Lucas had been expecting someone softer and sweeter to be running a non profit and he was surprised during their first meeting when she had been rather curt with him. 

She triggered the part of his brain that really wanted to be liked, to impress her. So when she popped her head in the office and pointed at him, saying “Atwood, get your stuff, you’re coming to this lunch with me”, he hadn't even questioned it.

It was just a Friday and he was supposed to go down to Doverport to meet with Vince for the weekend, so Lucas nervously chewed the inside of his cheek as they drove in separate cars to a fancy restaurant uptown to meet with the mayor and other local representatives. 

“You’ve been press trained before,” Sylvie said once they parked in front of the place. She patted his cheek, on her very tippy toes. The woman reached about his chest and yet Luke felt so small around her, “but it doesn’t hurt to reiterate. If they want you to explain anything about the shelter, about the actual work we’re doing you will…?”

“Redirect them to you for any official statements, ma’am.” 

Her face got even more wrinkly with a smile, “forget the mayor is even there, Joshua hates when people suck up to him and he’ll be all the more interested if you pay attention to anyone but him,” she instructed him, then took Luke’s arm with a fond shake of her head as he offered, “aren’t you charming?”

He had forgotten how much he liked talking with new people. Genuinely enjoyed meeting them and listening to their small talk, asking about their jobs and mentally cataloging them. How the mayor’s eyes sparkled as he heard Sylvie introduce Luke as “Lucas Atwood-Howard”, instead of just his first name.

It was still an adjustment, to have so many people know who he was before he could properly introduce himself, but it also felt… Right. As if he had been hiding something for the past seven years since he had dropped his final surname and slowly even his first one. Becoming “just Luke” was great, but it couldn’t go on for forever and felt a little like shedding his childish manners to finally embrace the full weight of his name and all the opportunities it could open for him and others. 

As it was, “lunch” stretched well into the evening. He had to sneak to the bathroom to text Vince to let him know he’d be late and let Bell know he wouldn’t actually go home before heading to Doveport, as initially planned. 

They didn’t actually talk about politics or any real measures, something that didn’t surprise Luke. Networking was a slow dance and while they were all definitely aware this was their job, part of the job was pretending it was all a friendly get together. 

He fit the part to a T, indulging all the questions that were thrown his way — About his major, the fact he had been part of the local football team, what were his opinions on the university infrastructure, how he was liking the new job… He even forced a laugh at “ you’re so young to be married, kid, who fooled into this?” 

“You did great, Atwood,” Sylvia said once they were left all alone. She was yawning in her hand, despite it not being 6 PM yet, and Luke allowed himself to relax, leaning back on his chair. He felt packed full, although he had eaten just a little bit more than usual. Back when he used to bulk he could stomach way more, but it had been over a year since he stopped doing that. 

The heavy feeling from the restaurant only grew on the drive to Doveport. He had ordered a sprite for the ride and the first couple of burps, airy and long, had been a relief. His belly was pressing against his jeans and in the privacy of his car he undid his fly and squeezed his stomach, forcing up another belch. 

However the burps soon stopped helping. Around his sixth one, the belch turned wet halfway through and brought up with it a little bit of sprite. Luke hurried to swallow it down and groaned as the tight sensation on his stomach turned into queasiness. 

He shook the can of sprite, wearily considering if he should finish the last gulp or not. Deciding it couldn’t hurt, Lucas chugged the remaining bit and then immediately swallowed a bit of air to force up a burp… And it got stuck right in his chest. 

Luke whined, moving the hand that had been cradling his bloated belly up to his chest and thumping on it, trying to force out the burp, but no such luck. All it did was slosh his stomach contents and another goosebump of nausea run down his spine. 

His mouth felt sweet and sticky and he wished he had picked sparkling water instead. He planted both hands back on the steering wheel and breathed deeply, trying to calm down his belly. No longer it was just heavy, but now he could feel its contents rolling and churning, producing some angry snares and growls. 

His shirt glued to his back and Luke grimaced, turning off the A/C and fully lowering both front windows, hoping the breeze would help. 

It didn’t, only made him shiver. He rolled the windows back up. One hour for Doveport. For a brief second he considered turning the car back around, he wanted his own bed and Bella’s comforting hands. However that would mean three more hours of driving and just the thought of that made Luke groan out loud. 

By the time Luke finally parked in front of Vince's house, his queasiness had grown into full blown nausea and his head was swimming. He was pretty sure he had parked all wonky, but that didn't matter, as he threw the driver's door opened and retched loudly.

"Hello to you too?" Vince teased him lightly, walking out of his tiny house. The orange light of the living room spilt on the steps that separated it from the street and almost touched the dark grass on which Luke was trying to bring up his lunch.

"Stand-" Luke interrupted himself with a thick burp. It turned frothy at the end and he could just taste the nauseating pesto sauce, causing him to gag and spit a mouthful of saliva on the grass, "stand back..."

"Are you sick?" Vince seemed absolutely unbothered and Luke shook his head, pressing a hand to his belly and trying to work up anything. He hated the sensation of something heavy sitting on the base of his throat, it caused another gagging fit, but nothing came up.

"Lunch isn't sitting right," Lucas groaned, his voice hoarse, as another burp brought up another small splash of acid, but nothing else.

"Okay," Vince walked closer and planted a hand on his back, rubbing between his shoulder blades, "come inside, you don't wanna sit here hurling on the grass."

"I don't wanna be sick, period," Lucas scoffed, leaning to his side so his forehead could meet Vince's tummy since the other man was standing next to him. He sank against the soft surface with a sigh, causing his best friend to chuckle.

"Okay," Vin petted his hair gently, "c'mon, help me here..."

Gently, Vince pulled him standing and Luke immediately let out a groan, wrapping his arms around his stomach. Standing made everything churn and he stopped moving, shuddering as nausea caused his mouth to water.

"Fuuck..." He groaned, bracing against his knees and spitting on the grass, swaying on the spot.

"Are you sure it's just indigestion, man?" Vince moved closer slightly, his big hand coming to support Luke's forehead and inconspicuously looking for a fever.

Lucas nodded, unable to speak, and then forced a burp. The belch fizzled out in his throat and he groaned, pressing on his belly and causing his stomach to thrown in the towel. With a choking noise, a horrible gush of bright green vomit fell on Vince's yard.

His best friend let out a yelp and jumped back slightly, but didn't let go of Luke, which was a good thing, because the next minute his knees gave up on him and he fell down, choking up yet another stream.

Lucas' throat was aching and his head swimming, his belly still felt full of something hot and bubbly, but his gag reflex diminished and then vanished as he finishing spitting up the remaining taste.

"Well... That sucked," he groaned, collapsing back against Vince's legs. The other man grabbed him by the armpits, forcing Luke back on his feet with one swift motion.

"Linda Blair wishes she could be as impressive as you," Vin teased him slightly, patting Luke's arm, "done?"

"Not sure..." Lucas wiped his mouth on back of his hand with a grimace, "my stomach still feels so gross... Hi."

"Hi," Vince rolled his eyes in an amused way, squeezing Luke's nape and guiding him inside the house, "sit on the couch, I'll get you some water."

"Urgh-" he muffled a little burp, "get a bucket too..." Luke called after him, falling sit on Vince's small couch and planting his feet on the coffee table. His pants were already undone, but they still felt constricting and Luke wrinkled his nose in disgust as he pulled his shirt up to his chest and noticed how bloated his belly was.

"Here," Vince came back, handing him a small yellow bucket from the laundry room and a plastic mug filled with cold water. His eyes paused on Luke's stomach and he raised his eyebrows, "that looks upset."

"Feels like it too," he nodded, gulping down the water and fully removing his shirt. He felt so warm. Lucas pressed his fingers to his bloated stomach and then let out a burp, making a face when it tasted just like his lunch, "sorry- Sorry for messing up our plans."

"Eh," Vince shrugged, sitting on the couch as well and turning on the TV, "you can watch the game while hurling too, it's fine."

Luke chuckled lightly at that, moving slightly so he could press his face to Vince's bicep and letting out a sigh when the half folded position only seemed to make his belly pulsate.

"C'mere," Vince grabbed him by the arm and Lucas didn't need to be told twice, fully collapsing against his best friend's lap. The couch was too small for him, his legs were sticking out, but Luke had no intentions of moving.

He planted the bucket in front of him, on the ground and between Vince's flip flops, then groaned as he felt Vin's hand on his belly, "dude, be gentle, it feels so fucking gross."

"Would medicine help?" Vince flipped through the channels, barely rubbing Luke's stomach but just keeping a hand there, most of his attention focused on the TV. Lucas wondered how much of that was him actually not minding and how much it was Vin just not wanting to embarrass him.

"Maybe later," Lucas moved slightly, curling up his legs. Vince's hand was heavy and warm and it helped a little bit. He was sure Vin could feel all the bubbles and churns under his palm, but the other man said nothing, "how was work?"

"Nice," Vince shrugged, chuckling at the small talk, "we just came back from the field trip and the teens aren't fully up to speed with routine again."

"Aw man, I miss having field trips," Lucas pouted, then grimaced as his belly gurgled fiercely. A warm, thick burp crawled up his throat and he pitched forward, thinking it'd turn into a retch. When it didn't, he fell back against Vince's lap.

"Speak for yourself, if I never go on a field trip again, it'll be too soon," Vince teased him, "I told you Daniels caught the plague, right?"

"You might have mentioned one or a thousand times," Luke's voice was bitter and he felt, more than heard, Vince chuckle. His best friend grabbed his arm, shaking him lightly.

"You're jealous?" Vince made no effort whatsoever to hide his amusement, glee coloring his words, "so that's why you're so green?"

"Shut up," Lucas scoffed, shoving Vince's tummy and curling up, "I'm not jealous, I just don't see what's so special about that guy that you won't shut up about him."

"Leave him alone, Luke," Vince continued to chuckle, "I think the man is just lonely, I just- I don't know, I feel for him."

"Saint Vince to the rescue," Lucas mumbled, feeling something horrible burn in his belly. Not just indigestion, but plain, unmitigated jealousy. Vin was his best friend and he lived four hours away and wouldn't shut up about this guy and yeah... Luke was feeling more than a little threatened by Daniels.

"I'm gonna invite him to join us next time we're down the cabin," it wasn't a question, it was Vince letting him know and Lucas scowled, rolling on the couch so he was out of his friend's lap and sitting up.

He muffled a sick burp against his hand and squeezed his eyes, a wave of thick nausea washing over him, how much of it due to the food poisoning or insecurity, he wasn't sure.

"Luke?"

His stomach churned and Luke darted out a hand, but didn't move. Vince didn't need any more incentive, he planted the bucket on Lucas' lap and the man promptly folded over it, drooling.

"Sorry..." he grumbled, tongue curling in revulsion and head swimming, "sorry, I don't- I don't feel so good..."

"Yeah, I know," Vince's voice was gentle, his hand squeezing Luke's nap in an affectionate manner, "get it up, buddy."

Lucas let out a deafening retch, but only a mouthful of sick came up. He squeezed the bucket until his knuckles turned white, struggling to breathe, and Vince thumped his back, managing to dislodge a wave of acidic sick from the bottom of his belly.

"Fuck..." Luke whined, resting his forehead on his forearm and panting, "that sucked."

Vince snorted next to him, causing Lucas to open his eyes and glare at him. His best friend only shrugged, not bothered by the pout in the least, "you feel better?"

Luke scoffed, gulping down air and letting out a gross belch, "nope."

"Gross," Vince wrinkled his nose in distaste at Luke burping right on his face, "are you done, though?"

"Maybe," Lucas' belly let out an angry growl and he winced, "are you gonna keep talking about Daniels?"

"Ma que porcamiseria, Lucas!" Vince cried out in italian, but he was laughing, "you cannot be serious!"

Despite how shitty he was feeling, Luke grinned, "I'm dead serious."

Vince rolled his eyes, snatching the bucket to clean it, clearly deciding if Lucas could joke around, he couldn't be feeling that bad, "you're insufferable, that's what you are."

-- I thought about this because I was playing the wedding DLC last night and when you call Derek to ask him to be in the wedding party he answers "Hi, this is Derek," like yeah buddy, this isn’t 1999 on a landline, I know exactly who I'm calling. It was so cute and polite and formal, so I thought about Baxter's old texting style and how adorable it would be for them to communicate, then boom, they are best friends.

-- Baxter thinks Derek is the most charming person in the entire world, and he appreciates how well he was raised. He likes that he always opens doors and pulls out chairs. Derek does all the old-fashioned gentleman stuff too, like he always makes sure you walk on the inside of the sidewalk, if you're cold and he has at least one stitch of clothing on, you're getting it, and Baxter thinks that just so nice.

-- This isn't unique at all, but I like to think that you do all three Step 4s -- so regardless of romance, you go to your moms' anniversary with Cove, spend Father's Day with Derek, and meet up with Baxter at the wedding. So even if you end up with Derek, you make friends with Baxter again, and can you imagine planning a wedding with Derek when you and Baxter are solid buds? I love it so much.

-- One more one more -- Baxter and Derek making friends and Baxter going over to the Suarez house for events. Nicolas is OBSESSED with him, he's such a weirdo and plus Xavier likes him so that's an automatic win. But Derek's parents take Baxter in too, and now he's got a place to spend Father's Day and it just makes him feel so warm and cozy.

-- There's at least a 90% chance that you cut Cove's hair for him. If you reeeeeally aren't comfortable with it then obviously he won't force it, but it just makes sense to him for you to trim it up for him when he needs it so he doesn't have to make it a whole thing. If you don't do a good job, that's ok with him -- you tried your best and he loves you for it!

-- Do you and Cove have a kid? Cove is that kid's doodle pad, and he gets at least one tattoo of a lil baby drawing your kid did. You might have to convince him not to do it every time. He loves that baby more than anything and the thought of having a little piece of them with him always, ugh, he really likes that.

-- Baxter loves cats and wants one very badly but he does that whole thing for a while where he doesn't feel like he deserves affection from any other living beings, so you'll have to talk him into it. But when you do, that cat is his child.

-- Both Cove and Derek canonically like it when you wear their clothes, but Baxter likes to wear yours. It doesn't matter if you're smaller than him or if you wear traditionally feminine clothes, he wants in them. they smell like you and remind him of you, especially if you're long distance in the beginning after Jude and Scott's wedding. He's not going to like go out in them, but he'll wear your hoodie around the house for sure.

-- This also isn't like a hot take I don't think, but none of the boys ever change, ever. Like they grow and stuff, but if you're with Cove, he's going to be clingy and have heart eyes for you when you're 80, and there literally will not be a day that goes by for the rest of your entire life that he doesn't tell you that he loves you -- guy is going to be on his deathbed and blushing when you tell him how you feel about him. Likewise, Derek is going to be Derek forever -- always just so so excited to be with you. Hope you can handle literal decades of "it's Derek Day." Baxter does have a lot of settling to do, but please imagine a 90-year-old man smirking at you and giving you those flirty little lines. He'll never stop.

Given the recent string of BLs that have dissapointed me narratively (missing or rushed character arcs, set ups for things that go nowhere, stringing plots along even past the point they were needed, incomplete or dropped or rushed story arcs etc...) For the ones that I will watch live I will try going on with my older attitude towards bls. As in I am here for the romance and the relationships (platonic and romantic) and litterally not caring about narrative or plot inconsistency and not expecting anything from them

[total side note: some of the shows that I have complaints about also made this attidude super difficult due to them messing up characters and relationships but whatever that's not the point]

Also for the following ones I am probably going to be a very passive watcher, back to occasional tag commentary if I have anything to say and that's it.

My Golden Blood = I mean this in the nicest possible way I can, I swear I am not hating, but I am expecting this one to be highly enjoyable trashy fun and nothing else.

Kidnap = I am going in expecting/wishing that the story will treat the problematic aspect with the care they deserve but that's it.

The Ex Morning = I am mostly just curious. I have no skin in this game nor any particular emotional attachement to KristSingto (no hate at all, in fact I do plan to rewatch Sotus and try again with Be My Favorite. I haven't always been able to connect with Krist's acting but I have seen a lot of posts about him and I want to do better at that)

Real talk about AEW, though, is that they point blank need to stop catering to the dudebros and embrace everything else that they could be. Like, it's not working. Catering to that part of the fan base is NOT WORKING. Tribalism is at peak levels, there are hundreds of trolls and bots on social media who do nothing but bash the company all day. Most wrestling news is garbage because they know shitting on AEW is how they get clicks. There's really only one decent journalist now and it's terribly unfortunate that it's SRS, because he kind of sucks. AEW is never going to win against the propaganda machine, and they need to stop trying. It's actively harming the product at this point.

AEW needs to absolutely go so hard in the opposite direction of that. AdaMJF was written as a romance and marketed as a "bromance" to avoid alienating the dudebros. We are only getting the Toni/Mariah/Mina triangle because women kissing is seen as far more palatable to the "traditional" wrestling audience. The comedy acts are toning down their shenanigans despite Orange Cassidy being an absolute ratings surge every single time he's on screen. Stop all of this. LEAN INTO EVERYTHING THAT MAKES YOU SO GREAT. LET ALL THESE WEIRDOS BE THEIR ABSOLUTE MOST UNHINGED, OUT THERE SELVES.

I saw a comment on Twitter that said they could have sold more tickets in Iowa if they would stop leaning so liberal to appeal to the conservatives here, and I thought absolutely not. LEAN IN, TK. Fuck the conservatives. Catering to them is ALREADY not working, so why are we trying. FOR THE SICKOS, Tony!!!! You can do this!!!! Farah/Alex: I like them, I think they're cute. I also think Alex is whipped and does whatever Farah wants to make her happy. Awesome malewife/girlboss relationship. 10/10.

Valeria/Graves: You know she tops. God, I can imagine them being the bitchiest couple on the face of the planet. They're so toxic yet it works for them. Would write for, have some ideas for them. 6/10.

Valeria/Alejandro: I mean, I love scornful ex-lovers just like anybody else. Maybe they were once pretty healthy in the past but they're definitely pretty toxic, too. Would write for if given a prompt (or if I get inspired all the sudden). 7/10.

Valeria/Rudy: GOD-- so many ideas involving past lovers, Valeria aiming to use Rudy to hurt Alejandro, just plan toxic ideas. Would write if requested or if I get randomly inspired. 8/10

Ghost/Rudy: Have written this before, I think it's cute. I haven't seen much for them, sadly. Might write this again (on my own or prompted). 8/10

Soap/Alejandro: Like the ship above, I think it's cute. I would write stuff for it. Bromance turned romance. 8/10

Price/Graves/Nik: FUCK YES. God, the brainrot is strong with this one. Love them so much, have so many ideas for them. Probably will never tire of them, OT3. 10/10.

Nik/Graves: God I have ideas for this one. Fuck yea new ideas to plague me in the middle of the night. 10/10.

Soap/Gaz: Yes, gimme. 'Friends to Lovers', good shit. Lots of fluff, silly shenanigans, all the good stuff. 10/10.

Gaz/Alex: Yes, love this. Cute as fuck. I can see a adorable slow burn romance, bromance to romance, didn't know they were dating-- I got ideas for it. Would love to write for it. 10/10.

Ghost/Gaz: Yes, I actually really like this one. Again, I see no content for it and it makes me sad. Love to write for it and put this ship out there. Some good, angsty slow burn. 10/10.

Farah/Gaz/Alex: I find adorable. I love this so much. Would write for happily. I haven't seen much content for them sadly (maybe it's because I don't look hard enough). Good ship, 10/10.

Alejandro/Valeria/Rudy: Got some pretty good ship ideas for this. Good ass angst with some fluff. The good stuff right here. Definitely could see this being a past relationship that ended badly, leaving two of them (or maybe all three) heartbroken. 8/10

Soap/Gaz/Ghost: Absol-fucking-lutely. Love this shit right here so much. I need to write more for it because it's a shame there's not more content for it. 10/10.

Hello :) are there any bls or shows that you’re excited about watching this year?

I recently watched the pilot teaser for spare me your mercy (with Tor and JJ) and I’m super excited for that. I love shows with mystery and this seems to have that.

I saw some comments on YouTube saying this looks like a bromance rather than a bl. I think it’s still a bl but the main focus will be on the mystery element. Also since this is just the pilot teaser, probably they’re not revealing the romance part yet. I’m hoping this show releases this year though haha. Can’t wait!

and sorry for the belated reply. I had to at least pretend to catch up with my shows (I didn't) and get over the Playboyy finale (I also didn't).

I'm really excited for Spare Me Your Mercy too. It's my favourite Sammon novel, actually. And yeah, it's surprised me too that people think it won't be BL. When did (recent) Thai drama ever shy away from queer content? There's simply no need for it. I know there's people who don't consider genre shows like crime drama BL because it doesn't primarily revolve around romance, but I don't make that distinction myself. I actually prefer stories that are horror/mystery/fantasy/crime first and BL romance second.

There's also this weird notion that critically acclaimed actors like Jaylerr and Tor won't do (or return to) BL because it's somehow viewed as "lesser" than straight mainstream tv - which honestly says more about the people putting this thought out there than Thai entertainment as a whole. We seriously need to stop othering (Thai) BL or viewing it as less professional. It's silly. BL isn't a stepping stone, it's a genre as any other.

Uh, sorry for going a bit off-topic. It's just something that's been on my mind recently. 🙏

As for other shows I'm really looking forward to this year:

Every You Every Me - because Mick Monthon is one of the most strikingly beautiful people I've ever seen, and I love him and Top together.

Love Puzzle - which has been in limbo for a year already but Noh Phouluang deserves another show and I love the Chains of Heart universe (idk what else to call it and CoH came first).

Wandee Goodday - because I've been ghostshipping Great and Inn forever and I'm ready to give gmmtv another chance.

Zomvivor - because Mii2 and zombies. Will there be BL elements? I don't even know. I'm mostly here for Jimmy. 🤣

Red Peafowl - because I love messy genre BL with a huge cast.

Knock Knock Boys - because look at Best Vittawin and Seng Wichai. Look at them! 🥰

And Monster Next Door - because finally FINALLY I get to see Big Thanakorn in the main role he deserves.🙏

But really, at this point I'm kind of looking forward to every Thai BL that's been announced because after three years I'm still not over the honeymoon phase of having discovered BL in the first place.

I'm also really looking forward to Deep Night starting next week to fill that Playboyy-shaped hole (oh no 🤡) in my life.
