Next up on “fixing up the house for free” I painted the accents on the shed. Jack gets to decide what colour she wants the body- all we have is green so if it’s not green it’ll wait until later. She wants the shutters to be rainbow though so whenever we get the paint for the stairs we’ll use it for that as well

I don’t really want to rephrase an ask I sent earlier but have you ever noticed how the Turks carry themselves as a slightly more effective Seasalt trio? Even as Shinra collapses they stick together, Rude gets Elena ice cream (incidentally, it’s sea salt!) when she complains to him, they really are out there doing buddy-cop style hijinks from time to time

When Elena brought out the sea salt ice cream I literally paused the game, threw my arms in the air, and dramatically exclaimed "NOMURA!"

I love the turks. I love how much Reno and Rude hate their jobs but still continue to do their jobs. There's definitely a bit of a proto-Axel energy. However, unlike the seasalt trio, which is one veteran babysitting two rookies who desperately do not want to be here, the turks are two veterans who do not want to be here stuck babysitting an overeager rookie who has yet to grasp how much this job sucks. I like referring to the turks as ff7's Team Rocket. Trio of corporate goons who you turn the corner and they are in the middle of a looney toons level of Interpersonal Drama and Shenaniganery, despite the fact that the last place we saw them was like five towns away.

Also a big fan of whatever the hell is wrong with Tseng. It's unrelated to this ask but it's also important.

I'm kind curious on how AC Rufus and the Turks would react to their darling having geostigma/and or are sick (bonus points if AC Rufus's darling got the geostigma)( plus I'm a little under the weather too)

Rufus

Rufus, who has also been afflicted by Geostigma, is simply devastated. He’ll try to appear outwardly strong and confident that he will find the solution to save you both. Inside he feels like a trembling, frightened little boy. The guilt gnaws at him that somehow he is the one who did this to you. He may end up pulling away a bit at first, but eventually he decides it’s better if you help each other through this. 

Tseng 

Tseng is a man who is dedicated to his partner, completely and irrevocably. Geostigma will not change that. Throughout your illness he dotes on you nonstop. He is dedicated to helping you get better no matter what the cost.

Reno 

Reno finds himself in a state of panic the first time he notices the sores on your body, and he realizes it’s Geostigma. He wants to take care of you, but he’s bad at it. However, you can be assured he’s not leaving your side. 

Rude

Rude is easily the most levelheaded about the whole thing. He knows how periolous Geostigma is, but he’s also very confident that a cure will be found. So, he takes care of you loyaly and always eases you away from giving up home. 

Elena

Elena, who was already dedicated to helping the afflicted, becomes even more tenacious in her fight against Geostigma. Now inspired by you, she’ll stop at nothing to help you.

Aye aye🫡 Lowkey took me a hot second to think of A and B for some reason 😂 I think I’m too far gone in my ‘reject canon reality’ AUs.

Headcanon A: Realistic

She and Tifa would share a room when they had the fortune of being able to stay at an inn instead of camping outside during their chase after Sephiroth. They would spend the nights together braiding each others hair and reminiscing their childhood, giggling about stupid boys (Tifa has a few stories of Cloud to share and Aerith is more than happy to hear it so she can tease him about it) and childish dreams and aspirations. It takes their mind off the reality of their situation and reminds them of simpler, happier times.

Headcanon B: While it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Would leave buckets out and other gardening tools around the church on purpose so Reno would trip over them when he’s assigned to come over and keep tabs on her. Every time he thinks he’s prepared for whatever trap she set up for him, she manages to catch him off guard. She somehow convinces everyone that she’s not doing this on purpose and now Reno sounds like the crazy, paranoid one.

Headcanon C: Heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

She keeps the pouch that Ifalna hid the white materia in in her dresser. It’s the only remaining keepsake from her birth mother that she has, and sometimes she would take it out and stare at it with wistful eyes, trying to remember the happy memories that have been gradually fading over the years.

The red color of the pouch is now faded but the leather and black drawstring still remain in pristine condition. She tucks it back into the corner of the drawer before she sneaks out the house to follow Cloud.

Headcanon D: Unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Oh y’all already know what’s coming up next. LAB SIBLINGS LAB SIBLINGS ‼️ Regardless of doomed or good ending, I adore the lab siblings headcanon and if lab siblings hc has no fans, then I am dead. I could go on forever about this hc but you already know the gist hehe 😇

TLDR: Awkward big brother Seph and menace little sister Aerith. She’s a nuisance to him until she’s not, and suddenly he can’t bear to lose her to Hojo’s schemes.

I headcanon that Soshiro randomly changes the way he addresses Konomi during work. Like he switches from Okonogi, m'dear to Okonogi, baby, Okonogi, sweetie, Okonogi, honey, Okonogi, love, etc.

It'd make everyone wonder if they're dating or not. Iharu and Reno are gonna make a dinner bet again. Will there be stalking involved again to get some answers?

I'm not big on pet names, so this isn't something I think of much to be honest lol

But I do see Hoshina being pretty unabashed when flirting with Okonogi, so it's probably something he'd do...? Either because they are dating and he wants to flaunt it, or because they're not dating and he's trying really hard to up the ante.

The long-time staff members are all pretty convinced they're secretly dating. The new recruits are fairly split on the matter however, with some saying the pair gives off couple vibes and others vehemently insisting the Vice Captain was single.

Eventually the debate reaches Iharu's ears, and it suddenly all makes sense to him. Of course the Vice Captain didn't go to meet a woman that day! Why? Because she was already back at his office!!

"I'm telling you man, they're totally dating!" Iharu insists for the nth time as he takes a seat next to Reno in the cafeteria.

Who was dating, you ask?

Reno didn't ask. He didn't need to ask. And he was frankly sick of hearing about it.

This leads to him rashly insisting that they tail Operations Leader Okonogi on her day off this time, if only to make his dear friend shut up about who was dating who. Iharu agrees instantly.

Kikoru and Akari overhear their deal and decide to join in as well, curious as to what the older woman might have planned. While friendly and always helpful, Okonogi still felt somewhat distant and mysterious... not unlike the Vice Captain.

But she wasn't that much like him. She takes the train instead of driving for example, allowing the four of them to shadow her with ease. Their transit travels lead to a cafe selling Fluffy Bear Pancakes (for a limited time only!), a used bookstore carrying obscure mystery novels, and finally a small karaoke bar in downtown Yokohama that welcomes Okonogi Konomi like a seasoned regular.

Panicked, her new stalkers give chase by booking a booth of their own.

It's only a matter of time before they get caught up in singing and partying like it's some kind of group date.

Their forgotten target leaves the venue long before they do. Iharu and Akari are getting sloshed. Kikoru is surprisingly tone-deaf and Reno is trying very, very hard to not laugh about it. By the time anyone remembers what they originally came for, well... maybe just a few more songs...?

Hibino Kafka receives a 2AM phone call from Ichikawa Reno, who meekly asks if he could please come pick them up because the trains stopped running and they spent all their money at karaoke. Iharu can be heard puking in the background.

Kafka almost throws his phone across the room.

"Why didn't you jerks invite me!?"

a suggestion: maybe like winter hot chocolate or drinking party or something (NOT THAT I ENCOURAGE DRINKING NOT AT ALL)

some of my ffvii ships cute little winter hot cocoa dates:

- zakkura: zack would take cloud to a convenience store to get the premade hot chocolate and cloud would still think its the pinnacle of romance, even when zack makes an absolute mess of the store

- asg: genesis would insist on making the hot cocoa from scratch because nothing could ever be as good what he makes, and he is actually right! angeal is ecstatic because it reminds him of when they were kids, and sephiroth is excited to know if it lives up to the hype, but even when it does sephiroth will still pretend like it doesn’t because he wants to (lovingly) tease and annoy genesis

- tsengru/renorude: rufus would have the perfect and fanciest hot chocolate made for them all while they’re all cozy and warm in his apartment, cuddled up together by the window to watch the snow fall. and then reno would bring cheap instant cocoa to force rufus to try! reno would take advantage of rufus’ expensive cocoa and get the most expensive one he can, rude would get the sweetest one possible which shocks everyone including reno, and tseng would opt for coffee in his cocoa, and rufus would fall in love with reno’s cheap “commoner” cocoa tamaki ohshc style

- aerti: aerith would suggest they make each other cocoa with (potentially strange for cocoa) ingredients they think the other would like and cozy up/cuddle together on the couch with a blanket wrapped around them both, enjoying each other’s weird concoctions happily

- tuestine: reeve would insist on making the perfect cocoa for vincent and he would be so proud of himself, and even if vincent isn’t fond of it, vincent will still compliment it and wouldn’t have the heart to risk breaking reeve’s proud excitement

and ships at a drinking party:

- zakkura: zack is having the time of his life, laughing and “dancing” with cloud, until poor cloud starts puking in which zack becomes the picture perfect boyfriend and holds cloud’s hair back and helps cloud in any way possible, basically waiting on cloud entirely until cloud starts to feel a bit better

- asg: sephiroth is the designated driver for both asg and zakkura, usually its angeal but sephiroth wanted to give angeal a break, and while genesis is moderately composed (aside from dancing promiscuously around angeal and sephiroth) angeal is an absolute drunken mess, behaving in ways that none of them have seen before, and that sephiroth and genesis will tease him about for the rest of their lives

- tsengru: they both have a few drinks, as rufus would convince tseng to let loose for once, but they would stop before either of them got too drunk because without each other knowing, they were both holding out in case either of them got too drunk and needed each other

- renorude: reno challenges anyone and everyone to a drinking contest, but he cant hold his liquor at all, and poor rude has to be dragged around all night by reno and make sure reno doesn’t get into too much trouble, plus rude is reno and tsengru’s designated driver so he can’t drink that night (poor dude has too put up with reno while sober… poor poor rude…)

- aerti: i like to think that the party is happening at 7th heaven so neither of them have to be the designated driver since neither of them have to leave, but i dont think either of them would get too wild, i think they’d have a few drinks but aerith can hold her liquor better then anyone else at the party, and even beats reno in a drinking competition, but then aerti both just get really lovey dovey with eachother and aerith tries to flirt with tifa in ways that make tifa laugh and they both know aerith will regret later

- tuestine: vincent doesn’t get very drunk at all, but he does loosen up at least a little bit around reeve, and reeve, despite initially wanting to be responsible and not drink much, he gets super wasted and starts being all over vincent, he’s just ultra clingy and all lovey dovey, but i also fully believe he’s an emotional drunk so he also gets all insecure about himself and whether he’s good enough for vincent, in which vincent actually handles it quite well and assuages all of reeve’s fears in his own way! and then they also probably hitch a ride back home with renorude/tsengru, where reeve ends up falling asleep on vincent and needing to be carried to bed
