Obsessed with the red barrel of oil positioned behind Eddie as he sits in a yellow chair with a blue pole behind him and has a conversation about what makes a father and what does and doesn't make a man weak.

The colour coding is off the charts in this scene - its next level good.

Red is the colour of fathers in 911 - we see it on the various fathers on the show all the time at critical moments connected to their parenthood. and its a barrel of oil - sitting behind Eddie - its a literal metaphor for Ramon - his father who works in the oil industry. (and just to prove the colour choice was intentional - there are blue barrels of oil inside the workshop - that Eddie walks past.

Oil is made from dinosaurs and the show has been using the oil/dinosaur metaphor since season 2 to represent outdated beliefs or behaviours. Oil is also toxic. So that barrel of oil that represents Ramon and his toxic views of masculinity (which Ramon talks about with Eddie in 517) being over Eddies shoulder. But its also behind him and set slightly away - suggesting that Eddie is moving away from that oppressive presence.

The blue column is also interesting because it is right at his back -- not off to the side - but centrally behind him and closer than the barrel - its a literal and metaphorical pillar of strength - having his back - the implication being that Buck - who always has Eddies back - is providing his strength and support without actually being there.

Because Buck is blue - thats been established across the seasons, whilst Eddie is yellow - and while we don't see him embracing yellow by wearing it just yet (that comes when he accepts and embraces his queerness) the fact he's sitting on yellow is a massive step forward on that journey for Eddie.

so what does F-0-0 mean? well, funny thing about that--you know hexcodes? those 6 digit codes that indicate a specific colour? well, there are also three digit codes as well, where you basically double each number to get the full 6 digit code. wanna guess what #F00 is?

do you think that because charles stares at red so often, given that hes always surrounded by bright ferrari colours, that when he looks at Max, Max's blue appears more vibrant and pretty because its an opposing colour that he isnt as often surrounded by so his colour receptors in his eyes view Max in a brighter more vibrant hue than they would someone like Lando or Carlos who are also surrounded by reds and oranges and yellows, whereas max is just pure blue.

and vice versa for Max given that hes always surrounded by the deep dark blue hues and tones of redbull, that when he looks at charles he sees a pop of bright colour that he wouldnt get from someone like Alex or Lewis given that theyre both surrounded by various blues and teals

and that maybe thats why they enjoy hanging around each other so much, is because their eyes are naturally drawn to the brightest colours that they arent constantly surrounded by, and so in turn each becomes a sort of beacon for the other, and they are naturally drawn to one another over and over and over again

or am i just going insane because its 1 am

okay so i posted in a forum talking about "most ridiculous arguments you've had" and remembered this story from when i was a teenager, i had this samsung slide phone that i'm convinced was a shade of red but i had a friend online who had the same phone and he was upset about it because he was convinced that his phone was "dark pink" and we argued over it for like 35 minutes and never came to a conclusion, my argument at the time was "pink is a lighter shade of red, there's no such thing as dark pink, that’s just called red my guy", "then why is dark pink a colour that exists and why is my phone that colour", "dark pink does exist though, except it's not called dark pink, it's called red", "i'm telling you the phone is pink though, not red" etc etc we went around in circles and never came to a conclusion and eventually lost contact some time in like 2013. so guys, this has been eating at me since 2010, i need to know what you all think. is the samsung C6112 slide phone "desaturated red", or "dark pink"?

All depends on the context! But as I'm assuming you're referring to Athenas red dress, then my guess is that the drama, passion and love will be the meaning behind it. It's drawing attention to her - amongst everyone else in either uniform (firefam) Maddie in Black and Karen in white, she stands out - and that will be intentional and tells me that its Bobby who is the focus of the ceremony and Athena's pride and love for him is meant to shine through!

Red can be a sign of danger and or aggression, but It doesn't feel like it fits in this case!!
