Was drawing a Riverclan family tree for a rewrite I'm working on and fell in love with my RC Robinwing's design, so I made an extra piece.

He is renamed Robinfrost because not only do I want multiple Robinwings running around (despite how funny I find it in canon) but also because the suffix is great and I love it.

Let's talk about Conflict Names.

If you've scrolled the Warriors Wiki, you've probably seen this message at least once.

And in a universe FULL of name combinations and new prefixes and suffixes being added all the time, it's... Odd. How do names like Robinwing and Seedpelt get used so many times? Why are there 2 Nightstar's now? WHY ARE THERE 3 BIRCHSTARS AND 3 DARKSTARS?

Well, I think it would be nice to change that. In-Universe, all apprentices still go to the Moonstone/Moonpool to foster a connection with Starclan. Starclan will show the leader who goes with them all the name "slots" of the cats who have come before.

Sometimes, in an extremely rare circumstance, there have been multiple cats with the same name (this is more... easter egg for wcr/comedic effect; but lore-wise, Starclan will often not provide the names of Dark Forest cats in an attempt to "erase" them), but it can never be a leader. There cannot be 2 Firestar's, ever. A Star cannot lead if it is being outshone by another.

Where the fun lies, is that sometimes, a leader will give up their leader name in Starclan, freeing up that slot. Heatherstar gave up hers to go back to being Heatherstep, as she did not enjoy being leader. Heatherstar would now be a valid name again. Also, the ancient 2 word names (Sky Petal, Cloud Spots, Blue Whisker, Briar Bloom) do not take up slots. Post-mortem names, such as Swiftpaw being named Swiftclaw, or Mapleshade's kits, also do not take up slots.

During Tigerheart's Light, Starclan ran into a bit of a pickle. Tigerheart was going to become Leader, but there has been a Tigerstar in history who did not give up his name when he went to the Dark Forest. But... His spirit had faded away! But... The memory of him hasn't...

When they asked Tigerheart "Do you wish to be Tigerstar?" What Tigerheart WANTED to say was:

"Sure. It sounds like a good name. Though I have some bad memories with it too, and my relationship with my mother is really strained now because of it, I'm also not sure of the Clans will like having another Tigerstar around. Maybe it's not such a good idea."

All he managed to get out was "Sure. It sounds like a good name-" before Starclan slapped the title onto him without a second thought.

With that MAJOR issue out of the way, let's get to the renaming of cats! Note: Renames are not done on basis of who came first, but which one I like better for the cat. I think Frecklewish fits the Thunderclan cat more than the Skyclan one.

Thunderclan

Rabbitleap (TC) is now named Rabbitsong

Beechfur (TC) is now named Beechtuft.

Seedpelt (Mapleshade's Vengeance) has now been somewhat fused with Seedpelt (Pinestar's Choice). Now a molly whose fur is streaked gray with age, and her name is Seedwhisker.

Seedpelt (Pinestar's Choice) has been partially fused, as seen above, but the leftover cat (ew) has been named Dragonflypelt.

Seedpelt (FQ) is THE Seedpelt. Seedpaw is almost named Seedpelt as well (that's that little joke I mentioned, but also a sign that Bramblestar's got NO idea what he's doing)

Owlstar (SoTC) and Owlstar (CoTC) have been fused, the way they should have been.

Shadowclan

Cloudberry (TC) is now Splashberry.

Larksong (BP) is now named Larkmoon, Larksong (Avos) remains unchanged.

Applefur (TF) is now named Applefang.

Ashfur (ShC) is now given the very simple Honor Title Ashclaw by Nightstar, and comes out of retirement.

Marshscar now becomes Marshstar to avoid a future Conflict Name with Marshkit, who will become Marshscar.

Mudclaw (ShC) is now named Mudstep.

Buster, who used to be Rippletail, is now named... Well he still becomes Buster, but BEFORE that he's named Droptail. Pun.

Hollystar has been renamed Birdstar, Jagged Peak and Rainswept Flower's daughter.

Riverclan

Shadepelt (AVoS) is now named Shadenose, and is the sister of Foxnose and an OC, Bumblenose.

Mintfur (RC) is now Mintwhisker, named after Mintclaw (Silverpaw TPB) a Rebel who was killed fighting against Tigerclan alongside his mothers Waterfern and Tangleburr.

Silverpaw (BOTC) is now in Windclan, as they need more padding, and OOTS Riverclan has enough apprentices. Their name is now Streampaw, and they become Streamsong. They are the offspring of Rustlewish, who adopted them from Riverclan, hence the name.

Applefrost and Appleshine actually had their names swapped. Appleshine is now the daughter of Appledusk and Reedshine. Applefrost is now Breezpelt and Heathertail's daughter.

Nightstar (RC) now never becomes leader, as Riverstar outlives her during Riverstar's Life towards the end. She and Nightheart (Ro) are now the same cat. She was inspired by a strange cat named Nightheart and made her name Night Heart.

Milkfur (YS) is now named Milkpatch, both after her mother and the slowly growing white patches in her fur. Her brother is named Troutfin (the name she was mistakenly given in the preview for Yellowfang's Secret) and he gave Hailstar a life!

Windclan

Thrushpelt (WC) is now not only a girl, but this lady WAS named Thrushpelt and earned the title Thrushleaf for her handling of the epidemic caused by sick rabbits.

Gorsetail (TNP) is now named Eveningtail.

Wrenflight (WC) does start out as Wrenflight, but after her actions supporting The Rebels against Tigerstar, helping Tangleburr and Waterfern free prisoners at risk of her own life, Tallstar renamed her Wrensky, freeing up the Wrenflight slot for the Skyclan one.

Birchstar (WC) is now Warblerstar, she is an ancestor to Onestar through his grandfather, Woollytail.

Skyclan

Frecklewish (SkC) is now named Freckleshine.

Birchstar (SkC) is still Birchstar, but stepped down at his death, going back to being just Birch, the same one in DOTC. The second leader of Skyclan. Birchstar (RC) is now the definitive Birchstar.

Rainfur (SkC) is now Rainyfur, his old name having been Rainy, because "oh it's just a coincidence his name was exactly the same as a Clan name" is a pathetic cop-out.

Robinwing (SkC) is now Robintail, after her short, fluffy tail.

Unknown Clan

Emberdawn (TBC) is still Emberdawn... Because no one remembers her, and Starclan doesn't care much about names that aren't attached to it, meaning that TECHNICALLY, there could be another Houndleap, Emberdawn is not in the Dark Forest, but she is also not in Starclan. Her horror story will be revealed eventually, still working on the finer details.

My 10% Left AU

I saw the idea of a 10% left after the Dark Forest Battle AU and LOVED the idea, so I decided to run with it! Thank you to @10leftau for putting the Allegiances list up, and for coming up with the idea!

The Survivors:

TC: Bumblestripe, Poppyfrost, Mousefur, Purdy

The Story:

The 12 (hang on) survivors meet on the Gathering Island. Reedwhisker, being the only surviving deputy, assumes the role of leader, naming Crowfeather his Deputy. Poppyfrost takes on the role of medicine cat, she spent a lot of time with Jayfeather in the medicine den after he saved her life as an apprentice so she picked up a few things, and she also wants to honor her friend. She treats the others' injuries as best she can, and they bed down for the night. 

The next day, while helping to clear ShadowClan camp with Bumbletripe and Icewing, Poppyfrost hears loud mewing, and follows it to where a little gray lump of fur. Mistkit, daughter of Kinkfur.  Her eyes aren’t even open yet, but she’s now the sole survivor of ShadowClan. Poppyfrost is immediately reminded of her precious kits, Cherrypaw and Molepaw, who were too young to be thrown into the war with The Dark Forest. Not that it would have mattered in the end, the lawless cats they fought against didn’t care who they killed. She and the group bring Mistkit back, and Icewing takes care of her while they try to figure out what to do about nursing her. Poppyfrost suggests the Horseplace cats, remembering what Berrynose told her about the cats he and his mother and siblings lived with, and while the others are apprehensive, Reedwhisker states that it’s their best bet. Gorsetail accompanies Poppyfrost there, and while Floss is sympathetic to the kit, she explains that she has no milk to offer but mentions Coco, another loner who recently kitted and may have milk to share. Smoky takes the two Clan cats to where Coco lives, and they meet the marbled brown tabby she-cat with three kits. She agrees to take in Mistkit, and returns to the Gathering Island with Gorsetail and Poppyfrost. On the way back, Gorsetail mentions that Kinkfur must’ve fought like LionClan to protect her kits, remembering the time that her own kits went missing, and how she would have torn down the forest with her bare claws to get them back. She and Poppyfrost bond over their lost kits, and vow to do whatever they can to keep this little one safe. 

With Mistkit in the makeshift nursery with Coco and her kits (Maizie, Willow, and Stormy) and reconstruction and rebuilding efforts underway, Reedwhisker decides now is the time to receive his Nine Lives. He and Poppyfrost go to the Moonpool, and drink from it. While Reedwhisker becomes Reedstar, Jayfeather appears to Poppyfrost alongside Cinderpelt, Yellowfang, Runningnose, Mothwing, and several other medicine cats, and explains to her that while StarClan is a bit of a mess right now, they will do everything they can to teach her everything they know. They welcome her as a proper medicine cat, and allow her to reunite with her sisters, brother, and kits for a moment before returning to the waking world. She and Reedstar return to the Island with StarClan’s blessing, and though the celebration is small, it’s still something. After deliberation, the group agrees to permanently settle on the Island (at least for now while they work on burying the dead and cleaning the former Clan Camps). Mousefur decides to spearhead building more permanent structures, and Poppyfrost realizes that she hasn’t seen her eat since before the Great Battle. She tries to dismiss it, maybe she ate while she was out, but decides to keep an eye on her. 

In the days to come, the Clan cats work on rebuilding what they can. Once Mistkit and the other kits are weaned, Coco offers to help, and has even started to grow close to Robinwing in the process. Poppyfrost has started gathering herbs based on what she learns with Jayfeather in her dreams, and has put together a medicine den. Crowfeather establishes patrols each day for hunting, burials, herb gathering, and den building, and everyone pitches in. As Poppyfrost works, she notices Mousefur has started to eat again. Eventually, the she-cat confides in her that she’d has a crushing amount of survivor’s guilt, being an elder that survived when so many young, more “useful” cats are dead, and that rebuilding dens and gathering herbs makes her feel useful. Poppyfrost tries to explain to her that she doesn’t need to force herself to be useful in order to justify her survival, and that her being here keeps ThunderClan’s spirit and memory alive, but has a feeling it falls on deaf ears. She and Gorsetail start to become good friends, and the she-cat comes to talk to her often. About 3 moons pass, and the group has grown closer. Coco formally joins the Clan, takes the name Flowerpetal, and her kits are Stormykit, Willowkit, and Maizekit. Reedstar suggests they hold a Gathering, where they can remember the fallen and hold a vigil for all the cats they lost. They do so, and Reedstar suggests creating a memorial. Robinwing offers to spearhead it, and together the cats create a large pile of stones, one for each cat who passed. They vow to keep the memory of each of their fallen Clanmates alive, and to teach every kit ever born in the clan the story of the Memorial.

Mistkit and her foster siblings become apprentices about 4 moons after the Gathering, becoming Mistpaw, Stormypaw, Maizepaw, and Willowpaw. Flowerpetal moves into the Warrior’s Den, and formally becomes mates with Robinwing, while Icewing and Mintfur (who were mates before the Great Battle) announce that they are having a litter of kits, which excites the new Clan. When discussing who should mentor them, Reedstar, Crowfeather, and Poppyfrost realize that with cats of all clans here there’s really no one fighting and hunting style, so they decide that the kits will be sort of communal apprentices, with a different warrior taking each of them every day. The apprentices even come to Poppyfrost to learn the basics of healing. 

Mistpaw and her siblings become warriors 6 moons later. Reedstar names Mistpaw Mistshadow, to honor the Clan that she was born in and carries the legacy of, while her siblings are named Stormysky, Maizeseed, and Willowbranch. Icewing gives birth to 4 healthy kits: two toms named Riverkit and Thunderkit, and two she-cats names Shadowkit and Windkit, one for each of the clans. Flowerpetal is also in the nursery, expecting Robinwing’s kits. As Reedstar stands there, he realizes their new clan has no name. He decides to call it DawnClan, for the fact they are the dawn of a new era.

Are you going to have Swallowtail and Rainwhisker be secret mates? I remember him licking her ear at a gathering and waiting for someone to say anything but nope.

My suggestion for kits would be the RC Robinwing, Lakeheart, and Dapplenose.

I don’t think they’d really cross hairs with Sorreltail’s line with being across the pond so it could be fine.

I also think it’d be cute if Lakeheart named Dappletuft after her sister.

Maybe Voletooth and Otterheart could be siblings.

Maybe like Heronwing and/or Perchwing (or Troutstream) could be MinnowMouse kits?

Troutstream and Mossyfoot could be siblings or mates.

Swallowtail x Rainwhisker

Swallow and Rain WILL have been secret mates; and their children are Rainstorm and Rippletail. It's because Rainstorm's too blue to NOT be related to Bluestar, and this makes a clean fix.

Robin, Lake, Dapple

RC Robinwing is going to become Robinwish, or I might pivot and call her Robinpool to make it clear she's a RiverClan cat... I'm going to keep her on the backburner for now.

Lakeheart and Dapplenose can be siblings though, that works well.

Vole, Otter

I certainly don't need Vole in early Po3, that's for sure. May shuffle them up and make them part of the early OotS generation... Siblings works fine for them but I'll keep that loose for now.

Minnowmouse kits

Troutstream looks a LOT like Swansong, I want to make that intentional by linking her up into the SwanMoss family. Her parent should be Pebblefoot, Stonestream, or Minnowtail.

She seems to be close with Mossyfoot, they seem to have a bit of a meangirl thing going on and tease Hollowflight a lot.

Mossyfoot will probably be the sibling of one of them. I like the idea that Hollow was bullied a lot by his own sibling, but Mossy also works very well as Trout's sister.

I have to be very careful here; Minnowtail is alive in-canon, and I am planning for Mousewhisker to join her in RiverClan after TBC. I want to make sure that only one of Dawnflower's kits gets kittens of their own, in case of Canon Minnowtail Children.

I had been considering hooking Pebblefoot or Stonestream up with Graymist... but if Troutstream is from the SwanMoss/Dawnflower line, I have to pick another mate for Graymist, or just have her claim Queen's Rights.

(And Graymist seems like the sort of person who wouldn't claim Queen's Rights, she seems to lean Thistley)

OH Also Troutstream is going to be one of my saves Because I Like Her. Hollowflight is also one of my saves Because I Like Him and also we need more surviving Dark Forest trainees.

My Perchwing Sunday! @yuridovewing

I like this design for her best, so it's the one I use!

WCR!Perchwing is born to Robinwave (renamed RC!Robinwing) and his mate, Nettlebush! The two were so excited to raise a child, only for tragedy to have struck when Nettlebush was killed during The Great Battle, leaving Robinwave alone with their newborn daughter.

She was raised on hero stories, but also of stories about being as kind as possible. She became a massive Fire Alone supporter, even bigger when knowing that the Clans coming together is what saves them. She is logical, friendly, and patient. Mistystar quite likes her, and picks her to mentor Harelight.

Later, during AVOS, she becomes the single parent of Cypresspaw and Wavepaw. She called Queen's Rights for the two, and though she was prodded over it by gossipy Riverclan cats like Graymist or Duskfur, she refused to ever name a father. She encouraged her girls to think for themselves, and stick up for wach other.

She fights against the Kin and is captured by them, and though she's a tad uncomfortable with ex-Kin members being welcomed into the Clans, she puts it aside and tries to stay in good faith with them. After all, some cats of Riverclan swore an oath under risk of death.

When Mistystar dies, Perchwing gets nominated as a leader candidate against her will. She refuses to take it, stating that even if they are in a succession crises, she doesn't want to lead.

She hides in Windclan after Splashstar rises to power, targeting her for having used the Queen's Rights to have her daughters, now Cypresswind and Wavesplash.

cedarpelt and timberfur - moved from elder rank to warrior rank

echomist - removed bc she hasn't been mentioned to be alive recently enough

petaldust - added bc she is mentioned in leopardstar's honor during whitepaw/whiteclaw's warrior ceremony

tanglewhisker - he's mentioned to be dead in crookedstar's promise before silverstream is born but dies onscreen in leopardstar's honor way later. i've added him

lilystem's unnamed gray tom kit - removed bc i had his birthdate wrong. he'd be closer in age to mousefur and runningwind (ie three years before itw)

gorsepaw/gorsetail the first and robinpaw/robinwing (wc) - i originally added them to boost windclan's pitiful numbers but after a lot of internal debate, i don't think that i can justify keeping them around specifically, so they have been removed. i still do think they are great candidates if you are looking for background cats to fill windclan's ranks, especially robinwing, bc windclan chronically has like half a woman throughout tpb

morningflower - changed her description to reflect the one in onestar's confession

newtspeck - removed bc when littlepaw/littlecloud mentions his mother in itw, he refers to her in the past tense. she is alive at the end of yellowfang's secret but could have died in between then and itw

dawncloud - added her unnamed kits. swampkit and blossomkit died before into the wild but she is mentioned to have other unnamed kit(s) in into the wild
