Coraline (2009) came out when I was 11 and in the fifth grade... and it really made a huge impact on me. And it's one of, if not, top fondest memories where I can reflect on it now and realize, yes, childhood autism.
I would not stop thinking or talking about Coraline. every minute of every day, that movie was on my mind. I've been exposed to Tim Burton stop-motion films growing up and loved them all/ had fond memories with each, but nothing could compare to Coraline. It was unique and touched on horror more than Tim Burton's films, genuinely send shivers down my spine. I'd argue that its execution as a kids horror movie adapted from a book was excellent but that's for another time (hint: Wybie).
This movie indeed was the door to explore more horror films. It's actually the film that made me feel not-so afraid of horror films anymore (before I was deadly afraid of horror films and raced to my room to avoid anything remotely scary). It's also the first film where I "studied" a film.. AKA watching behind the scenes, read more about stop-motion and the processes, voice acting. etc. This just help further the appreciation of the film. To this day I still remember little facts. Like how they used real popcorn for the trees. Bobinsky's moustache is made out of piano wire. You get it.
It's funny to think back on how I'd mention every single time that I watched Coraline over the weekend in my journal entry for school (every single time). I got teased for my "obsession" by my peers and family of something no one could understand. It kind of breaks my heart to admit that I did have a moment of resentment for this hyperfixation then (on top of having a hard time getting any work done) but eventually I found myself back. To this day, it has a special place in my heart.

But the boys had Christmas events at the pizzaplex#They helped the children draw Christmas trees to show their parents. Helped the little ones make ornaments to put in their trees at home#They had to advertise for the Christmas specials through the plex#So when they finally had the freedom to choose how to spend their holidays#the boys decided they wanted to give it a go themselves#if only to see what it was all about. it’s the pjo season finale tonight and i just wanna say i’m so grateful for this show and how it’s given me a chance to feel like i’m 10 years old again every tuesday at 8pm. to watch my favorite story of all time play out in front of my eyes and feel just as giddy as i did experiencing the books for the first time 10 years ago. it’s not everyday you get to relive how it felt to experience your favorite piece of media for the first time. it’s so so special and i’m so grateful <3

#okay so this is like my sum up of the whole season post#it's my tribute to wonderhole#this whole blog kinda is but ya know#I will probably make more gifs of the last ep but as this is the last ep of the season I thought I would do a gif round up#and making all these gifs kinda took it out of me#fun fact this is very close to the gif limit on here#it is a very long post but you know wonderhole deserves it#I have really enjoyed the season#from watching that first ep on my birthday til now#it has been a fun Saturday thing for me to watch in the morning and make gifs of for the rest of the day#I love that it all came back to the beginning with it all being what they filmed on the coconut while they were stranded on the island#I do love when stuff loops like that#Especially looping back to that beach scene which was the scene that made me make this blog#because it was so pretty I was like oh I need to make gifs and now here we are#my favourite ep is still the second one mainly because of the colours and future aesthetic it had#I think it was fun and it was fun to see them letting their creativity flow through the episodes#it kind of hits you with the comedy but it also makes you feel a lot of emotions which I have loved#so thanks wonderhole you have been a beautiful thing and I hope there will be more in the future ily#thanks to Rhett and Link for making this because I have loved it#it was a special thing#also shout out to everyone who has interacted with any of my posts on here I did not expect anyone to so thanks :))#these tags really just turned into me rambling so hi if you made it this far#rhett and link#rhett and link's wonderhole#rhett and link gifs#rhett mclaughlin#link neal#my gifs#wonderhole spoilers

Also I am. Constantly forgetting how fucking funny Hunter is. We never give him enough credit for how funny he is because his life is so fucked up but I swear 90% of his lines are just bit after bit after bit. He's not even trying either. Anytime he actively tries to make a joke it falls flat but if you just put him in a Scenario he'll find a way to be so over invested and yet out of touch/at odds with whatever's going on. He's so autistic
