I want Sirius to act just a little like Regulus. Maybe when he's angry, maybe when he's sad, maybe without realizing it.

It wasn’t often, and it never lasted long, but in those rare moments, Sirius would catch himself. There was a flicker of something deeper in his eyes, something that looked a little too much like his brother: the cold detachment, the sharpness, the intensity.

His temper, usually so...all over the place, would shift into something more controlled, more dangerous. The words that escaped his lips were precise, cutting, each one like a dagger thrown with perfect aim. His gaze would become distant, as if he'd removed himself from the situation, leaving behind only the sharpness of his anger.

It was a fleeting transformation, gone as quickly as it had appeared. But in those moments, there was no denying the resemblance to Regulus: the same coldness, the same distance from the emotions that were otherwise so clear and easy to grasp to Sirius.

It scared him because it meant becoming more like his parents, his family, too.

I want Regulus to act a bit like Sirius. Maybe when he's happy, maybe when he's warm, maybe when he's feeling rebellious.

There were moments when his control slipped, when the weight of the expectations, the family, the life he had been raised into, became too much to bear. In those rare instances, he would find himself doing things that felt utterly unlike him: making jokes with a rare humor, speaking with a passion that startled him too, or expressing emotion without the usual mask of disdain.

Sirius had always been a symbol of everything Regulus had distanced himself from—wild, unrestrained, free. But in those moments, when Regulus acted like him, he could understand why Sirius chose the life he did.

Because, in those fleeting moments, he didn’t just act like Sirius—he felt like him. And the possibility of that scared him, more than anything else.

The Black brothers were just that after all, brothers, raised the same, but such opposites they were, followed completely different paths, they did. That always so interesting, isn't it? Because they both ended up in the same place.

Death is an interesting creature indeed.

one of the best things about Rab to me is that there was no higher power forcing him to play those arcade games. like that isnt the kinda thing glitchtrap would order him to do which means Rab developed his own hobby of playing arcade games and being insane at them and that's just something he did for fun

my regulus is very religious and finds comfort in it but i believe would be more so reform in his approach as he finds it important to build his own relationship w g-d after his family and such : my sirius is not religious but is still very culturally appreciative ! he is not practicing judaism but he is still very jewish !! i think he feels more connected to it w remus than on his own before their relationship but i do love to talk abt sirius and judaism . i have a fic in mind in which sirius wants to reconnect w judaism years after running away so he goes to his local synagogue and runs into the rabbi’s son (rjl) and they start hanging out n remus talks to him so much abt religion and culture n they fall in loveeeee! its my love letter to judaism and very dear to me so idk when i will feel comfy enough to work on it but its always been the plan

i feel like people would be entranced by regulus just by how mysterious and unknown he is. Like walking past him in the hallway and turning your head to get a second glance or seeing him for the first time in the library, wondering if he’s new

100% always and forever… like people see him and his beautiful sad resting yearning-face hiding in his big hoodies and are sooo entranced by him. then they have one single conversation with him and he’s the weirdest most socially awkward and menacing person they’ve ever met. people will romanticize him for his damsel in distress aura just to learn that maybe the weird kid is just a weird kid…

regulus black was a poet and, therefore, he loved ancient greek. if you study it, maybe you can understand the immensity of this statement; if you study it, you'll know that there aren't enough english words that, even lined up one after the other without making any sense, can define "ancient greek". but i'll try to explain it, because understanding this is understanding regulus; understanding regulus is understanding, at least in part, greek; and understanding greek is, well, understanding everything.

regulus black loved ancient greek and, therefore, he loved life. it was his from the first moment, he nurtured it. and if you think that that night in the cave regulus let it go, you're wrong: he clung to it with all his strength and, when it finally slipped from his hands, it was torn to shreds and full of scratches. because regulus dug his nails into its back until it bled, so it wouldn't go away.

a life, new, immense, full of possibilities: it was the greatest gift he had ever received. and maybe yes, it wasn't beautiful, it wasn't perfect. but it was his life, the only one he had. and he loved it.

regulus black loved ancient greek and, therefore, he loved beauty. which is not an unattainable canon, it's just harmony in forms; it's the balance of nature. and so regulus loved poetry (as sappho says in fragment 16, the most beautiful thing is what we love) because poetry is the maximum form of expression of beauty: it's a perfect harmony of words and sounds, which creates its own melody, and it's the basis of human expression. in poetry emerge the purest and most ferocious feelings, and reading greek verses is like being hit repeatedly in the face, suffocated with a wet cloth. it's the masochism of every classical student.

as a result, regulus loved ancient greek because it's the perfect product of a wonderful culture. greek is the language of poets, lovers, thinkers: everything that exists has a greek word that identifies it. everything you've ever felt has a greek word that immediately makes it poetry. and regulus, who has the soul of a poet, does not need english to live; english is bare, it reduces everything to an asphyxiating simplicity. no, he needs ancient greek. he needs complicated words, words that, in a few letters, contain the perfect key to understanding life, words without even a translation.

only ancient greek can express such deep concepts using a single word. and knowing greek allows you to know the world.

i just got jumpscared by more catholic trauma hcs so let’s get into this!!!

i have three main jewish hcs that i care about very deeply and make content for primarily : those being remus , lily , and the black family ! (wolfstar invented jewish love…..) however i do have other hcs i simply enjoy more passively : dorcas , hermione , lucius , occasionally marlene , and mary! i used to hc pandora as jewish but that was before she was a rosier to me and the rosiers are not jewish in my head but i might sway back towards it 🤞

i have elaborated on jewish lily and the jewish black family in the past so perhaps it is remus lupin’s turn ….. remus is plagued by survivors guilt which i think is really added to by his jewish experience. we are a people who are raised to celebrate our survival and perseverance. i think this would make for an interesting storyline regarding remus and his complex relationship to religion after becoming the Sole Survivor in a way of his friend group …. (obviously sirius is still alive but he’s in azkaban so LOL) … i think in many ways remus would struggle with religion and find comfort in g-d at certain points and then pull back and be more questioning at others. “if there is a g-d he will have to beg for my forgiveness “ (if you use that specific quote for catholic trauma or whatever you should die and go to hell btw) …. he is constantly alienated from the muggle world and viewed as a monster in the wizarding world. his story is very reminiscent to me of certain jewish stereotypes (secret shapeshifters who drink the blood of christian babies blah blah blah) and i think it could be very interesting to see remus battle w these preconceived notions of himself in two different worlds, begging to be understood and viewed as a person in each of them. i like to imagine lyall as a rabbi in many modern aus ! despite remus’ battle w religion i think in the end he feels rlly connected to it and does pray actively and such : because i dislike the trope of religion always being traumatic and harmful especially with jewish characters in which our religion is consistently demonized by the public for evil practices …. this is also why to me remus would only date / marry jewish people bc it’s simply a custom! jewish wolfstar FTW!!!!!!!

my remus is mizrahi, my lily sephardic, and the black family is ashke as hellllllll yall seen them ….. both of remus’ parents r jewish and the black family whole is the most ancient and noble house of judaism, while my lily is patrilineal. i think her n petunia r half sisters and while lily is jewish petunia is not, which creates a divide in their relationship!!

in terms of who i think is actively religious : i think lily remus regulus andromeda and narcissa are , whilst sirius and bellatrix are not particularly , atleast not to the degree it matters to lily remus and regulus!

one of my favorite things abt my jewish hcs is the fact that james potter is just oddly surrounded by jewish people despite not being jewish ….. he loves us fr ……. like all of his closest friends are jewish save for peter 😭 its bc he’s hindu fr like that’s cousin

but my most important jewish marauders thought is that there is another world out there in which hogwarts is a jewish boarding school and i think it’s the timeline we all deserved ….❤️
