It involves Catholicism; therefore, it will hurt me. However, as a Catholic, the Church has instilled in me that if it isn't painful, then it isn't good for me, so if the show makes me cry every episode, I think the Church would approve.

It's Gym Bros BL adjacent meaning men will be in a gym, half-naked, and working out, which is good enough for me! Also, they're color coded, so who am I to deny small blessings?

The Wicked Game

We are getting two GLs and a BL about bodyguards falling in love with their clients, but just like all the vampire series we were supposed to get in 2024 yet only got two, I'm wondering who will be first and how they will turn out. I think all of them will be great, but I am especially looking forward to Daou getting bruised up for love.

Love of Silom

Up and Poom were a surprise for me in 2024 with My Stand-In, so from what I know about the plot dealing with a cop and a single dad, I think they will do just as great with their second series as they did with the first. I am patently waiting to be in my feels again because of them.

I need to watch Big kiss men like I need air. I need to watch Big gently place his hand on another man's neck like I need water. I need this show. Now.

My hazbin hotel ship opinions!

• staticradio: my favorite, my obsession, my life. It is very obvious in the show that Vox is obsessed with Alastor. The most common opinion in the community is that it’s one-sided, but I like to think Alastor pulled away because he was afraid of his reciprocated feelings towards Vox.

•radiorose: This is my second favorite Alastor ship. They are super cute and they’re quite perfect for eachother. I just enjoy their friendship too much to actively ship them.

•radioapple: I only understand this ship because it seems like they have existing tension, but otherwise I don’t enjoy it. Alastor and Lucifer’s relationship was never expanded on beyond their immediate rivalry. Maybe if season 2 gives them more interactions or a backstory I will be able to get behind this ship a little more, but I really can’t see this as anything more than a boring rivals to lovers trope.

•staticmoth: It’s okay, but I don’t see them as much more than a sexual relationship. I don’t think Valentino is capable of genuine love.

•polyvees: I see Velvette as more of a younger sister to the other vees. To me the idea of her having two boomer older brothers is just funny. I don’t think this ship is necessarily bad it’s just not my thing.

•bombsnake: I think they’re cute. Unfortunately I don’t think Cherri really has returned feelings for Pentious. Based on their interactions she just seems interested in experimenting sexually with him because of his anatomy. I could be wrong though, so I’m very open to this ship!

•Charlastor: I see Alastor as a father figure or older brother to Charlie. Especially after the Hell’s greatest dad song, I just can’t ever see them in a romantic situation. I am not against the ship, but I personally don’t like it.

•Chaggie: I have nothing bad to say about them! Their relationship is healthy and I think they’re perfect for eachother. I particularly enjoy the fact that Vaggie was an ex-exterminator because it truly promotes Charlie’s idea of redemption. I am going to be extremely upset if Vaggie gets redeemed and gets seperated from her gf.

•radiodust: most people who ship this probably still have the pilot in mind. They don’t interact a whole lot in the show, and I see this as more of a crackship than anything.

•huskerdust: It looks like they’re going to be getting a slow burn relationship and I’m so happy about that. I like to think that Husk is refusing Angel’s advances because he knows he’s only doing it because of hypersexuality at first. I’m 99% sure that is what is canon too. I want to see their relationship grow.

•radiohusk: I am sorry but I can’t get behind this whatsoever. Husk absolutely hates Al, and Al owns him. There is no equality in this relationship, and it would get toxic very quickly.

•radiomaid: I love their dynamic but only as friends. I know Nifty is an adult, but she acts so childish and Alastor still owns her. I don’t like the power imbalance and maturity gap.

•alastor/lilith: if the theory that Lilith owns Alastor is true, then I am interested to see if we get a backstory about them, or what they might’ve been doing for 7 years. As of now I am neutral.

•guitarspear: these two menaces belong together. It seems like Lute really cares about Adam too which is an added bonus.

•Adamsapple: definitely a crackship. I don’t know what to say other than I find it amusing.

•valdust: I despise this ship. There is a very abusive power imbalance and it is proven that Anthony is nothing more than an object in Val’s eyes. There is no love here, just manipulation.

•royalhalo: cute, but even better if It’s poly with Vaggie. If emily becomes a fallen angel, Charlie could have two gfs and I stand behind that.

•lucilith: I hope they get back together. Lilith better have a good reason for leaving.

•Vaggie/Angeldust: most probably ship this because they were likely a longtime viv follower. I’m not against this ship necessarily, but I could never get behind it. Maybe I just adore chaggie and huskerdust too much.

Ghosts of past tragedies haunt the town of Kavo after decades of neglect. Fantastical creatures desiring nothing but fear and destruction hide in invisible tears in reality. Gangs and the police are at constant war with one another, there's a shapeshifting monster running amok, and the mayor's assistant suddenly wants a disabled orphan kicked to the streets. A year ago, Gene was discovered in the forest on the outskirts of town, half dead, amnesiac, and unable to even speak the local language. As he had nowhere to go, he was brought to the orphanage of Kavo for a place to stay. Now Caspar, the assistant of the mayor and the man who funds the orphanage, wants him kicked out. When Gene's left to the cold, cruel streets of Kavo on his own, he has to navigate through a town ravaged by decades of neglect and intrigue. Has the corruption truly been purged from the government? ❧ Has two "main plots" going on simultaneously; technically three ❧ I periodically give the reader updated "character guides" ❧ like they get more recent plot info added kinda like a red-string board to keep you, the audience, up-to-date with info you might've otherwise missed ❧ I think it's really cool and people seem to enjoy it ❧ I know it seems like a lot but please give it a chance

❧ I've literally plotted out pretty much the entirety of the first and second books, and know most of how book 3 will go, yet there's very little out for the current version of the story ❧ part of that is because I'm paused on the 3rd draft

❧ There's lots of timeskips throughout the first two books, but they're mostly to age up the protagonists! Gene, the MC, starts the series at 7. I promise it's not a kid's story though.

❧ The "secondary MC", Nikolai, is the police chief investigating magical stuff going on at the same time. They tie in with the main story involving Gene, though won't appear to for a long while.

❧ The "golden child" series I love more than SaS; however it's on hiatus because I promised people to work on SaS first and SaS is more popular as a romance-focused story. :/ ❧ I would never be salty about that.

wyllstarion (wyll/astarion). monster hunter x "monster" dynamic which im obsessed with. they have the potential to either make each other worse or better and it's really interesting to see it play out either way

bladeweave (wyll/gale). they would be the sweetest, most romantic and loving couple ever,, i just know it. they'd dance all the time at camp and say so many cheesy lines to each other both in camp and while traveling that all the party members would get annoyed pretty quickly lol

idk their ship name but karlach/gale ! both have been doomed to die by something that has invaded their bodies (the orb and karlach's infernal engine) and i feel like they would be just a really nice couple. they are so fucking underrated omg. if there isn't one already, i feel like infernalweave or something would be a good ship name for them :P

again idk the ship name but karlach/minthara. i saw some clips of the end dialogue (after brain, before epilogue) of karlach origin with the minthara romance and oooh it was so good. i literally put my karlach run on hold just so i can romance minthara (whenever thats fixed lmfao)

2024 fic reading stats / AO3 Wrapped - Reader Edition

Last April I got the idea that I wanted to, in some form, get a better understanding of how much and how often I read fic, and some other stats as well. Obviously I knew the answer was a lot and often. But you know the urge to make lists and sort things when you're stressed? Yeah, that hit, so I started up a spreadsheet starting May 1st. In my spreadsheet I logged the date I had read the fic, the fic's title, author, fandom, ship, rating, and word count. I also added the AO3 link to the fic which has proven handy in looking up recs and stuff like that!

I just wanted to share some of those stats now that I've made lil graphs to go with them and everything lol

Starting with the totals:

Last year, from 1 May to 31 Dec, I read about 3,928,191 words of fanfic. (Now, that's the logged amount, but it's not... perfect. I won't go into detail but let's just state that that amount is still very telling!)

Total of different fics I read during the logged time was 478. (There are 479 logged entries but one of them was a reread, so.)

The most amount of entries for a single day was 8, and it happened three times lol. Two of those I know I was sick but idk what that third day was, probably a wonderfully lazy sunday.

Authors:

I logged at least 141 different AO3 authors. (Some people using several pseuds may have confused my count a little but give or take a couple!)

Here I have to shout out @fuddlewuddle because if I read 478 fics, 93 of those were hers. I don't even know what to say except that I'm glad our freaks match each other <3

A fun thing to note was that I myself made it on my top 10 list of "favorite" writers based on the amount of fics logged because I reread my own stuff frequently enough! That's kind of uplifting to think about. If sorted by word count, however, I am farrr from the top, because I tend to write shorter fics :D But I'm happy to keep it that way!

Fandom:

Showing off some percentages based on the 478 logged fics. Ahem, as you can see, Top Gun continues as the ruling fandom in my life, but there were some new smaller fandoms coming in as well! And that strange, two movie fandom fusion is, of course, courtesy of Fuddle...

If I were to sort these by word count instead, the percentages would stay pretty much the same, except Other fandoms would give a tiny bit of its slice over to Ted Lasso.

Ship:

Again, this is based on the total of 478 logged fics. Quelle surprise, I'm a hangster girl and there's a lot of that on the market, so 183 out of those 478 were hangster fics. Other ships here entails multi-ship fics (where the ships are equal instead of clear main ship & background ship type of thing), poly ships with a number of varying character combinations, and ships that had less than 5 logged fics with it as the main ship.

(The tiny red dot says roykeeleyjamie and it had 6 logs in total. The purple dot with the name not fully showing is macheresin with 10 fics.)

Rating:

This is again based on the total of 478 fics.

My own writing stats:

I posted 18,687 words' worth of fic last year (though some thousands of words haven't made it to AO3 yet, but were still written last year). As you can see, I am still very much a reader rather than a writer, but it's the best of both worlds, getting to do both!

Overall, I thought this was a fun experiment, and I'm going to keep up with my spreadsheet for the new year – because what is life without spreadsheets, really.

Random, useless Tekken headcanons at 6 AM because I am bored and still a little high, but it's okay:

• Kazuya and Jun sleep like bunnies in bed, they curl up and fight over their covers because they both clutch onto the blankets for dear life

• Kazuya snores LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING TRUCK STOP, like Jun got used to it when they were young, but she comes back, gets back into bed with him, and swears to God he's going to choke to death in his sleep; and it's not like, consistent snoring, it's 'HONK-HONK *random incoherent noises*'

• I don't know if Marshall is still married, but I honestly think he's probably divorced - and married to Paul for money and convenience, DO NOT FIGHT ME ON THIS, I AM RIGHT (they 'adopted' Steve, aka, Steve lives with them)

• Jinpachi and Wang are just a little zesty, please, I love them, THEY'RE A LITTLE HOMOSEXUAL...

• Jin always, somehow, wakes up with his thumb in his mouth, he could be sleeping like a plank, but still wake up with his thumb in his mouth; ah, trauma (it's just comfy for him); adding onto that - I think biting his finger nails or skin is his indicator that he's stressed

• Kazuya's bisexual, Jun's a little unlabeled; she just goes with the flow of whoever (Kazuya's has many secret boyfriends when he was young, nothing can't convince me)

• MY PERSONAL FAV LITTLE WEIRD POLY SHIP THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONTENT: Raven x Victor x Dragunov - LET ME EXPLAIN - Raven and Victor are dating, (in my opinion, Raven's in his early 40's, he's gay, Victor's bi, they're definitely "open") and Dragunov is like... A 'sugar baby' who drops in, starts shit, SOMETHING happens between them, and then they go back to hating him (queers)

• Kazuya knew Jun was pregnant, I honestly believe that he knew, but it was in a short time frame from his death, if he didn't fucking DIE, I think he definitely would have had an amazing relationship with Jin

• I have a page in my notebook dedicated to Jin headcanons, and my favorite is that Jin has a stuffed tiger named 'Tora', it's a bit ripped, extra loved and dirty (from being left outside in Yakushima): it was given to him when he was born by Jun... As he thought- turns out, when Kazuya heard she was pregnant, he got a little stuffed tiger to give to their unborn baby, but obviously, his ass died, and Jun still gave it to Jin... He found out and blew a fuse, refusing to believe it

• All the Mishimas are born with that fuckass hair, evident by Kazuya LITERALLY being born with that fuckass hair

• Steve Fox is gay, do not fight me on that, he's gay

• When Kazuya was a baby, Kazumi used to sit down with him and her pet tiger, letting the 2 just kind of... Explore one another, the tiger was a gift from Heihachi, and she LOVED that tiger, so she likes to include it in family time - so she'd take baby Kazuya and just set him in front of the tiger and let to two sniff and grab at each other

• Jin's vegetarian to me, like, obviously he needs to protein, but I feel like he gets sad every time he has to eat meat because he just thinks of the animals

• Heihachi baby talks Kuma, I will never not think that; obviously not in front of others, but it happens, it fucking happens

• If Kazuya lived for Jin, he'd be the best house husband ever - obviously Jun's around a lot, but if she has to take a case, Kazuya's cooking for them, cleaning, with Jin, best house husband

I was thinking about something these days, a lot of people in the fandom assume that Cross would join the bad Sanses, but I thought about why Cross would stay with them, like Cross kind of knows he can't rebuild his world, even if he does, he'll never have his family again, so why would he want to stay with Nightmare?

In my head it would make more sense for him to want to stay with the Star Sanses than Nightmare (even after everything that happened with Ink? Maybe?) Dream would perhaps offer hope to Cross, unlike Nightmare, what would he offer him?

Sorry for the extremely long ask, I've been thinking about this for a few days and I can't get it out of my head, I'd like to hear your ideas.

I am assuming this is because either people assume it’s canon that Cross is still with them, or they just prefer that he be with them for whatever reasons. Such as Bad Sans Poly or Bad Sans Family, or just simply that they think it could be more interesting and dynamic.

I mean, the Bad Sanses on their own aren’t canon, the only ones Nightmare actually has/had are Killer and maybe Cross/XChara? I’m not an expert on Cross/XChara/Xtale canon and especially in relation to Nightmare. All I know is that Killer was confirmed canon in both Something New and Dreamtale.

I suppose people who go with Bad Sans Cross make the same argument as they do for why Killer would choose to stay with Nightmare. That Nightmare somehow someway saved them, gave them purpose and direction, the idea of found family against the multiverse.

I mean. Cross doesn’t really have to go looking for his family if they’re already right there, right? He can mourn and grief what he loss, but many also like the idea of him moving on with the Gang. A lot of people in this fandom have a preference for the Bad Sanses over the Stars, and things like ships factor all of it too.

For example, if Dream gets in the way of Krossmare or Bad Sans Poly or Kross or Crossmare, then some people just want Dream out of the way. There’s a long history of that with Killermare and Color & Killer, too.

Some people just prefer fanon because they find it fun and comforting, and they want to see their favorite characters in these situations and relationships.

There’s also the factor of how many people just don’t..really acknowledge exactly what Nightmare’s gang does? You know. Multiversal terrorist murderer torturers.

They don’t put a lot of weight into it, and how it would impact characters and relationships and the like. Who is and isn’t okay with what they’re doing, who will struggle, who is a hypocritical little bastard. Things like that.

Probably because it often goes with the idea that Nightmare saved them all, and they all want to be there, and everyone is happy there; which is fine of course. No different from the Creepypasta mansion, which I also loved as a kid.

If anyone else has their own opinions and thoughts about this and Cross and everything, feel free to chime in.

Figured to post up Chapter 2 as well, since I got that finished-just so the feel of what this fic is about is demonstrated more vs just with the first chapter.

Chapter 3 is almost done and 4 is in the works.

Summary:

So, Paradox had cronies-or maybe just sad saps-to help him push for the "pruning" shit. And TVA wanted THEM to look into places for clues? Sure, they can treat it like a vacation! Multiversal travel and all. Huh, never heard of this Earth before.

A/N: Pretty sure some of you are gonna know that this earth is more inspired by certain anime series-or at least their tropes. I've always been a sucker for "accepted meta society" and them just treated as a norm rather than something to be feared or envious of. Also I know Miracleman has had a 2020's series released, but I haven't read it. Also yes, the poly is probably one of my favorite ships in comics-really even though I don't consider Jean as anywhere near my favorites, I just want her to be happy in a relationship. Lastly, I prefer the more nurturing and motherly type Jean over all else-so I decided to have some fun with playing around with the Phoenix Force. I'll understand it's not for everyone, and that's fine. It's why it's just a fun lil' AU they can pop into.
