Dondaisy and the Three Gay Caballeros

I'm all for poly ships, and the same goes for canon ships! I've noticed that with the introduction of Daisy that a lot of Three Gay Caballeros (TGC) shippers have sort of switched sides though, and I'd like to discuss it!

Dondaisy is a great ship! Especially in the DuckTales reboot. There's plenty of chemistry, and although the "love at first sight" trope is slightly overused, it's portrayed realistically in Daisy's episode.

The TGC is also a great ship! The boys have had many good times together, and their interactions point towards something deeper than just a friendship. In their respective episodes, they seem to get along well, and have a deep understanding of each other's boundaries.

I respect every shippers opinion, and I do not weigh some ships above others. However, I would like to arise a new ship idea! I don't have a name for the ship yet, but basically, it would just be a combination of TGC x Dondaisy. I feel like Daisy would be very open to the idea of having multiple people in one relationship, and would remain open-minded throughout their journey, and the Caballeros seem like they would also be open to someone new joining their relationship.

Plus, a surplus of memes can be made from this, like the one scene in parks n rec. Daisy: "this is my boyfriend Donald, and this is Donald's boyfriend Panchito, and this is Panchito's boyfriend José"

I don't dislike Tilde per se. I liked her a lot in TSS. She was strong and took ownership of her sexuality. But in TGC I think she was unneeded and unbelievable. She turned Eggsy into a prince/kept boy, forced him out of a career he loved, was a drug user, and manipulated him to propose/marry her. Not the signs of a good person or a healthy relationship. Still I'd never post hate for her in any of the tags. I just wish everyone would tag for her and her relationships so blacklist can catch it.

I appreciate that you don’t intend to post any hate for Tilde. I can also see why you might feel the way you do about her. I don’t think it’s near that cut and dry, though, to be perfectly honest. And, since you messaged me about it, I assume that you’re open to talking about it all, so I’ll be frank.

Although, haha, before I start the frank part, I’ll say that while I don’t tag individual characters, that’s not part of my tagging system, I do tag my Kingsman ships, so I can rec that if you want to block them, you might want to block ‘Royal Eggs,’ ‘Royal Hartwin,’ ‘Royal Merwin,’ and ‘Royal Merhartwin.’ Those are the ship names I’m using and the ones I’ve seen others use.

Okay. The frank, thoughtful bits now.

I was mildly unsure about Tilde on my first watch through. Mostly because yeah, okay, the most likely reason they wrote her in was to give Eggsy a heterosexual relationship, in an attempt to try and avoid slash ships. Which, is kind of funny, because good lord the Hartwin overtones are insane in TGC, far more so than I ever picked up from TSS. It’s like, they wrote Eggsy into a het relationship, and then ramped up the gay to about five thousand. And I’m saying that as someone who doesn’t ship Hartwin as my main ship, cause my main ship is Merwin, but lord in heaven was the Hartwin strong in this movie. So, uh. Guys, guys, mixed signals here. XD

(Which is why I just figure he’s bi. Or pan. Or somewhere around there in the inbetween. XD)

That said, I didn’t stay unsure for long. Mostly because, well, A. the idiots already fridged one of our strong ladies because wtf (and she’s not dead, dammit, I refuse), so I am going to happily embrace Tilde for the wonderful lady she is- and she is a strong woman in her own right, as we know from TSS. B. I was insanely happy that if they were going to pair Eggsy off with a lady, at least it wasn’t Roxy, because good lord no please no. By which I mean, with no disrespect towards people who ship Roxy/Eggsy, they are my NOTP/BROTP, and I just. No. Let Roxy and Eggsy have their broship, pls. C. I was actually really happy to see her back as more than just a sex joke. Which I know a lot of people tried to reduce her to one in TSS, and just. No. D. Poly ships. I love me some poly ships, because I wholeheartedly believe the human heart can love more than one person, so yeah, okay Eggsy loves Tilde. Got it. Doesn’t mean he can’t still love Harry, or Merlin, or anyone else. Embrace the poly ships! I do!

So. My doubts were soothed, and I dived happily into accepting Tilde and her relationship with Eggsy. Which brings me to your concerns.

I’m going to hit the ‘drug user’ bit first. Which is a big issue, and a sticky one. Now I say this as someone who, until this year, had never touched any drugs ever. Which, I broke my record this year, once, because it’s one possible treatment for some of my health issues, and when I tried it, I just went. Eh, this does nothing, whatever, I’m good, thanks anyway. So I have no connection to drugs, or affinity for them. But I’m a firm believer in the freedom of choice, especially when it comes to a person’s own body, and one of my beliefs is that the government really needs to butt out of trying to control what people do with their own bodies. Which means I’m actually pro legalization of drugs. Which was really kind of odd/funny, because I agreed with some of the things Poppy said in the movie. Which sounds a lot worse than I mean, haha.

It’s. Kind of a point, in the movie. Poppy is, of course, a psychopath and completely in the wrong with everything she was doing, but. She wasn’t wrong about some of the things she said. Like, the commentary she makes to Charlie, re: sugar vs cocaine. It’s also kind of a big thing if you look at Fox: she argues with Not!Trump about how not all drug users are the bad criminal types people stereotypically associate with drugs. Fox makes the rather poignant point that she uses whatever it is she uses to help her get through life, because frankly, working for Not!Trump is a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Champ makes the point too, and Ginger, when they talk about Tequila; he’s a good man, a good Statesman, he just has a bit of a wild side. Additionally, if you read the book, it very poignantly hits on the people who use drugs medicinally, to deal with things like cancer and mental health issues, but who are affected by the Blue Rash because of where they got their medicine from. And let me tell you, that was a point that hit kind of hard in my house, because none of us are neurotypical, and if our doctor prescribed it to use, marijuana could actually be a medicine for some of us. And we are, ironically, in Kentucky, not even two hours away from Louisville where the Statesman are based, and bills to legalize medicinal marijuana have been proposed here as recently as January of this year.

So what I mean by that long ass paragraph is. Being a drug user isn’t necessarily a bad thing. And that’s a point that is specifically raised in the narrative in the movie. Because yeah, Poppy is fucking batshit crazy, but her end goal of legalizing drugs? Isn’t batshit crazy. Which is why Not!Trump and Whiskey end up firmly in the Bad Guy camp, because they’re willing to condemn billions of people to death for something that’s not necessarily bad.

So does Tilde use drugs in TGC? Yes, of course, she gets the blue rash. We see her light up. Am I going to condemn her for that? No. She smokes something in a moment when she is under extreme stress and upset. That’s her choice, for her body. And that single use isn’t enough to show us if she uses it irresponsibly, or if she’s out of control with it. I’d actually assume that if she was out of control in her drug usage, Eggsy wouldn’t be with her. As he points out, he grew up in a place where drugs destroyed lives; I highly doubt he would be with someone who was destroying their life with drugs. I’ll also point out that he doesn’t actually seem concerned with her usage. He’s scared as hell that she has the disease, but he never condemns her usage or seems against it.

Alright. So the manipulating him into proposing bit. Hoo boy. I understand where you’re coming from. It was a thought I had in the theatre myself, while watching the first time. However, after a lot of thought, I don’t think that’s what’s going on here.

I’ll say flat out; I think that bit is a bit of shoddy writing. I think it was unnecessary, and that it should have logically been something Eggsy and Tilde would have already discussed, considering that honeypots are something they were trained on during training. They were told to get to know Lady Sophie biblically, remember? Which, yeah, turned out to be a ruse for the train test, but it was definitely something they were trained for.

But, the fact that I think it’s shoddy writing aside; it has been pointed out to me, when I was pondering it, that it could very likely be something they hadn’t discussed yet because their relationship, while almost a year along in TGC, had kind of a jump start with both of them suffering from. Issues. You know, being held captive, having just lost his mentor, and they kind of jumped into it headlong, and probably missed some big discussions that they should have had, but didn’t. So we’re looking at this as;

Tilde doesn’t know that honeypots are a thing Eggsy might be expected to do. Clearly, they haven’t talked about it. All she knows is that, this man that she loves, who clearly loves her, is suddenly telling her that he needs to sleep with another woman. And that’s a Big Thing to have suddenly thrown on your plate, especially when it’s a situation of “I need an answer right this moment, fate of the world depends on it.” So it’s pretty damn understandable that Tilde is thrown for a huge loop by it all. She’s shocked, surprised, and definitely feeling hurt. And here’s Eggsy, telling her he wants to spend the rest of his life with her- which in any other situation could easily be a proposal. And, in the confused, hurried, disarray of emotions she’s dealing with- she’s not pressuring him to propose, I think it’s pretty clear that she thinks that might actually be what’s happening.

So here you’ve got both of them super stressed and freaked out and confused. Eggsy’s stressed as fuck about it, doesn’t want to have sex with Clara, but is asking anyway, cause the world is kind of at stake, and he kind of accidentally almost proposes. Tilde is stressed as fuck, and hurt by this sudden request, and confused, and she thinks he might have just proposed, but she’s not sure, because wtf, and. And then Eggsy’s backpedaling, because shit, shit, shit, public figure, and fuck. (And, one of the things that I liked in the book, is that you get more of Tilde’s POV here, because she’s struggled with being the Crown Princess all her life, and now it feels like Eggsy is rejecting her because of her being the Crown Princess.) Confusion and hurt abounds on both sides of that conversation. And if you pay attention.

Eggsy says they need to sit down and Talk about this. Later. Tilde is upset, but gives a (somewhat understandably bitter) okay, and walks away for the moment. And it’s pretty clear that they’ve both made mistakes here. And that they both greatly care for each other, because otherwise they wouldn’t be that hurt.

And. Yeah. It’s this whole huge convoluted ball of fucked up emotions and mistakes and they should have talked about this already, but because writing, they hadn’t, so it all comes out fucked up and misunderstood. But I don’t see any of it as Tilde forcing Eggsy to propose. She’s thinks he has, and then surprise, no, not really, and where do they go from a misunderstanding like that?

Which leads into Tilde forcing him to be a prince/kept boy, and forcing him out of a career he loves. And. I’mma say one thing here, first off, because. Kingsman.

There ain’t no way, ‘prince’ or not, that Eggsy’s going to stop being a Kingsman. That’s definitely not the way things work in the Kingsman world. And I think Vaughn is smart enough to know we would freaking riot if he even tried that. XD I mean. We talked Harry back to life from a headshot, we can talk Eggsy into still being a spy even while being a prince, haha.

That out of the way- Tilde in no way forces Eggsy to become a prince, or a ‘kept boy.’ Let’s give Eggsy more credit than that. If he didn’t want to marry Tilde, if he didn’t want to be with her, he wouldn’t. Eggsy very clearly loves her, tells her flat out that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. And yeah, okay, becoming the future queen’s consort is probably going to cause some issues with Kingsman- but he makes that choice. Saying that Tilde forces him into it just… makes me think of the people who tried to say that Eggsy forced her to have sex with him at the end of TSS. Which, frankly, is ludicrous. At the end of TSS, Tilde is clearly very happy to propose sex with him. And at the end of TGC, Eggsy is clearly very happy to be marrying Tilde.

And that. Was a lot of tl;dr, haha. Hopefully tl;dr that makes sense, and isn’t too rambly. But. I have a hella lot of feels about this, and have put a lot of thought into it. I really love Tilde, and I have come to love her relationship with Eggsy. (And I love my poly ships that include her.) And I really would love to see more of fandom embrace her and it, but that’s of course going to be up to individual preferences. It might be some people’s NOTP, and that’s alright. I have my own NOTPs in this fandom. And you know what? I co-exist with them. I block tags and posts if I need to, and I just try not to comment on them, because live and let live. This fandom is such an open and welcoming one, and I hope it stays that way.

Works in Progress

1 – Spy in the House of Love.  Fandom - The Flash.  Technically, this is written as EoBarry, but it's so AU that I've already begun thinking on how to file off the serial numbers.  It's based off of a tiny little story I wrote last year around this time for the awesome @timeforalongstory (Kyele on AO3) for the prompt "Meeting on a Train AU".  I have no idea why I wrote about 1200 words of retired spy Eobard Thawne meeting former protégé and lover Barry Allen on a train, but I did. She wanted to know the backstory and thus was born the idea of Eobard having recruited Barry in college.  The most amusing thing about this is that when I finally saw Kingsman, my first thought was I've been writing a Kingsman AU, not a Flash AU all along.

Word Count Status:  The damn thing is now at 145K and probably will end up double that.  Actively writing this.

2 – A Wolf in the Fold.  Fandom - The Flash.  Slow burning EoBarry dystopian A/B/O where Barry is an omega about to be sold at auction and Eobard accidentally becomes scent-locked on him.  No powers AU.

Word Count Status:  Around 20K.  I drop a few thousand words on it every few months.  I do love the story.

3 – Cold Wind to Valhalla.  Fandom – The Flash.  Inspired by pics of Tom Cavanagh with a buzz cut, yet another EoBarry AU, where non-villain EoWells (from Earth-52) find himself on Earth-1, during the time that Barry's trapped in the Speed Force.  Eobard, who's searching for his missing husband, agrees to help Team Flash get their Barry free.  

I'm really stuck with this one.  I love elements of it, but there's a lot of this story that I actively hate.  I want to finish it but I don't know if it'll ever happen.

Word Count Status:  Around 30K, probably needs another 5K to get to FIN. I should just buckle down and do it, I know just how it ends.

4 – The Secret History of Neal Caffrey.  Fandom – White Collar/Kingsman Crossover.  Because I have a problem with publishing works in progress (my stories are my children and deserve to reach full gestation before publication), I'm writing this as a series of discrete stories.  One every two weeks or so.  

Word Count Status:  Currently, six published stories.  New one should get started and published this week, which will be a "keystone" story in the series – where the Round Table considers Neal's request to be considered as a replacement for Tristan, who'd been killed on V-Day.  I can't wait for Neal and Eggsy to have a scene together.

5 – The Stars Across My Heart.  Fandom – The Flash.  Ballet AU set in Monte Carlo in the early 1930s, and kinda-sorta a Red Shoes AU without the tragic ending.  More EoBarry, of course.  

Word Count Status:  Around 8K.  I love writing this but I have no idea where it's going (other than a happily ever after), so it's hard to put words on it.

The stories listed here are likely to be the last stories I’ll write for The Flash fandom.  Information leaked about the upcoming season has pretty much killed my interest in the show.  Thank goodness I discovered Kingsman and all the lovely fic and the lovelier people who inhabit the fandom.

Plans for the rest of 2017 and through 2018.

All Kingsman

1 – Hartwin AU for Fic Wars, writing as a team.  Can't say more about this at the moment.  But already committed words to paper.

2 – Second Fic Wars assignment.  Hoping to write Merlahad, Merwin, or Merlahadwin.

3 – Untitled Merlahadwin angstfest – it's that's eating my brain right now.  It will completely ignore TGC, and will pick up right after TSS.  Eggsy and Merlin grieve together for Harry, who was married to Merlin.  Eggsy understands and accepts this and quickly puts away all of his feelings for Harry.  They grow close and as the grief fades, they fall in love and begin a life together. Harry returns and that life comes to an end.  Eggsy hides his grief and pain at the double loss through unhealthy coping mechanisms, Merlin never tells Harry about his relationship with Eggsy, and Harry is torn between the love for his husband and the feelings he has for Eggsy.  Not a love triangle, but a tragedy in the making. Still trying to figure out the happy ending for these morons.

3 – Kingsman Playwright/Actor Modern AU – Eggsy catches the eye of playwright Harry Hart when he performs a scene from one of Harry's plays as his final work for RADA before graduating, and Harry is enthralled by his new muse.  Former Merlahad, where Harry and Merlin had been students together at RADA and lovers for a few years afterwards, but when Harry came out in rather spectacular fashion, Merlin dumped him without a word. Twenty years later, Harry's young lover is Merlin's co-star on a new television series.  The core focus of the story is going to be homophobia, AIDS, self-acceptance and reconciliation.  Probably will end up as a poly relationship.

 4 – Untitled continuation of When Are You Gonna Come Down? When Are You Going to Land? Can't say more about that because it will spoil the end of that story (which hasn't been published yet).  But it's going to be a Kingsman/007 crossover.

whenever they need to convince you to do something/go somewhere, larry plays good cop and nick plays bad cop. it usually works!

both nick and larry send you music playlists all the time. nick does it more than larry, but that's because larry also sends you movie recs. nick's more into tv show recs.

absolute idiots in the kitchen. 80% chance whatever they make will be a disaster and be questionable in taste. the 20% is when they unintentionally create a masterpiece?

larry is more cuddly, but neither of them are too physically clingy. when you're on the couch watching a movie together, usually nick's got an arm wrapped around you and larry is laying his head on your shoulder/lap.

both are more into gift giving. nick does surprisingly sweet and sincere gifts, while larry prefers to buy goofy shit. his favorite is to buy cursed flags off amazon.

you have a group chat with the three of you and it's entirely memes and food orders.

you and larry have an ongoing bit of standing in the background of nick's vlogs and staring at the camera ominously. it takes nick two months to finally figure it out, and he starts to complain about it. but you do it anyways.

dates are.. interesting. the few times you've gotten larry and nick to go on a three-person date, it has been a bit of a disaster. so, you prefer individual dates. but both of them like to take you to the most interesting places they can find in town.

^ if you have to tell one of them that the other has already taken you there, get ready for them to complain about how they've been wanting to you to take there. especially nick.

if you three go out together even just to hang out, there's a coordinated outfit going. nick likes to put the two of you into his merch mostly, but you do try to color coordinate.

so many late night discord gaming calls. even though you could just go to each other's rooms. larry likes to do roblox and other shitty games he can find on steam, while nick prefers a good horror game or chill shooter.

you and larry like to give nick haircuts. they are not pretty, but it always grows out to the curly, pretty mess that you know and love. nick complains about it getting too long, but then ends up with a shaved head because larry convinced you to do it.

nick is the better kisser but larry kisses more. change my mind

Şimdi de öyle. O nedenle de pek çok kişinin Metin’e dair olarak zaten artık biliyor olduğunu varsaydığım şeyleri tekrar etmeyeceğim. Metin’i bugünden bakarak anlatmak, günümüzün gazetecilik gerçekleri ile birlikte ele almak sanırım en doğrusu. Metin Göktepe, 8 Ocak 1996 sabahı, Evrensel’in istihbarat servisinde Ümraniye Cezaevi’nde öldürülen tutukluların cenazesini kimin izleyeceği konuşulurken, “Mutlaka ben izlemeliyim arkadaşlar” demişti. Deneyimli ve cevval bir muhabir olarak Metin bunu dedikten sonra artık o gündem onundu. Cenazeyi izlemek için gittiği Alibeyköy’de polisin engeli ile karşılaştı. “Sarı Basın Kartı” olmadığı gerekçesiyle izin verilmemişti. Böyle durumlar iyi bir gazetecide, gazeteciliğin o an o barikatın arkasında olduğu hissini uyandırır. Hele Metin Göktepe gibi zor haberlerinin habercisi için bu kesinlikle böyledir. Kendisine izin verilmesi için ısrarcı olur. Ve polis tarafından gözaltına alınır. Sonrası biliniyor. Zehra Doğan’da yaşayan Metin Göktepe Zehra Doğan, Metin Göktepe öldürüldüğünde daha küçük bir çocuktur. Diyarbakır’ın yoksul mahallelerinden birinde dünyaya gelmiştir ve annesi sobanın yanında onun ayaklarını ısıtmaya çalışırken, o, adını o an duyduğu Metin Göktepe ile tanışır. Ve bu tanışıklık onda bundan sonraki hayat yolculuğunu belirleyecek kadar güçlü bir etki bırakır. Kısa bir süre önce tutuklu bulunduğu hapishaneden tahliye olan JINHA Editörü Zehra Doğan, 3 Mart 2015 günü yayımlanan ‘Êzidî Kadınların Çığlığı’ başlıklı haberiyle, o yıl düzenlenen Metin Göktepe Gazetecilik Ödülleri’nde Yazılı Haber Ödülü’ne değer görülmüş ve Metin’in doğum günü olan 10 Nisan 2015 günü Türkiye Gazeteciler Cemiyeti Burhan Felek Salonu’nda düzenlenen ödül töreninde, orada bulunanların gözleri dolarak dinlediği şu konuşmayı yapmıştı: “Eğer vaktiniz varsa sizi Diyarbakır’ın 90’lı yıllarına götürmek istiyorum ve size Metin Göktepe ile nasıl tanıştığımı anlatmak istiyorum. 90’lı yıllarda devlet için normal, rutin günlerden bir gündü. Diyarbakır’da göç mağdurlarının sığındığı getto tarzı bir bölgede doğdum. Ve o bölgede her gün birileri öldürülüyordu. Benim de birçok akrabam bunların arasındaydı. Ve bu nedenle sürekli annem, ‘Akşam dışarı çıkmayın öldürülürsünüz’ diyordu. Ve bir gün yine bir gazeteci öldürülmüştü. Televizyonlar kara kaşlı bir gazetecinin katledildiğinden bahsediyordu ve annem sobanın etrafında ayaklarımı ısıtırken, ‘Bak dışarı çıkma seni de öldürürler. Çünkü bu ülkede gazeteciler bile öldürülüyor’ dedi. Annemin ‘bile’ demesi benim gözümde Metin Göktepe’yi bir kahraman ilan etmişti. Çünkü o bir kahramandı, öyle yürekliydi ki, dışarı çıkabiliyordu. Ve ben de dışarı çıkmalıydım. Günlerden bir gün Êzidî kadınların haberini yaptım. Ve bence bu haberi yaparken de, Metin Göktepe olsaydı ‘Bu habere gitmeliyim’ diyerek gidecekti ve belki sarı basın kartı olmadığı için katledilecekti. Benim de sarı basın kartım yok. Fakat, tıpkı Musa Anter’lerin, Gurbeteli Ersöz’lerin yaptığı gibi bu haberi yapmak istedim ve gittim. Bu haber ilk yaptığımda pek ses getirmedi ne yazık ki. Haberin içinde 7 bin kadının esir düştüğünden, 3 yaşından 6 yaşına kadar çocukların esir düştüğünden ve tecavüze uğradığından söz ediliyordu. Türkiye’nin gündemi farklı diye bu haber kullanılmadı. Ama annem her zaman söyler ‘Kahramanlar hiçbir zaman ölmez ve peşinizde olur’ diye. Gerçekten ben bu ödülü aldığımda bunu anlamıştım. Kahramanlar ölmemişti ve Metin Göktepe bu haberi duymuştu ve ödülüyle bana bir mesaj gönderiyordu. Bu anlamda çok mutluyum. Ödülümü de DAİŞ’in saldırılarını görüntülemek için katledilen Deniz Fırat adına alıyorum.” Metin Göktepe, Zehra Doğan’ın gazeteciliği için ilham kaynağı olmuştu. Ve Metin, bugün Zehra’nın o gözü pek gazeteciliğinde yaşıyor. Onunla birlikte Cizre’yi, Nusaybin’i dolaşıyor ve orada büyük acılar yaşayan yoksulların derdine tercüman olmaya çalışıyor. Ahmet Şık varsa, Metin de vardır Metin’in en yakın arkadaşlarından biri olan ve onu katledenler cezasız kalmasın diye gösterdiği ısrarlı tavrı nedeniyle tehditler alan Ahmet Şık ise -bu satırlar yazıldığında yine cezaevinde- bugün Metin’in kuşağının yaşayan güçlü bir örneği olarak mesleğe yeni atılan genç gazeteciler için tartışmasız bir örnek oluşturuyor. Şu an Türkiye cezaevlerindeki gazeteci sayısı, farklı basın örgütleri tarafından farklı ölçütler kullanılarak farklı sayılarla ifade edilse de, dünya rekorunu elinde bulunduruyor. Ve bu yazı yazılırken 6 meslektaşımızın (Derya Okatan, Eray Sargın, Mahir Kanaat, Metin Yoksu, Tunca Öğreten, Ömer Çelik) gözaltında 12. günleriydi. Gazetecilerin öldürülerek susturulduğu dönemlerin ardından gazeteciliğin öldürülmek istendiği bir dönemi yaşıyoruz. Tüm bunlara rağmen, çıkarıldıkları mahkemelerde gazeteciliğin arkasında duran gazetecilerin verdikleri mesaj açıktır: Gerçeğin arkasında dik duran gazeteciler var oldukça, gazetecilik öldürülemez! Ancak şu da bir gerçek ki, halkın haber alma hakkının yükünü tek başına gazeteciler taşıyamaz. Metin Göktepe davası süreci, gazetecilerin, basın örgütlerinin – bu vesileyle, Metin’in davasının yılmaz takipçisi, mesleğimizin duayenlerinden dönemin TGC Başkanı Nail Güreli’yi saygıyla anıyorum- kararlı takibi ile birlikte, ilden ile sürülen davanın peşini hiç bırakmayarak ilk kez bir gazeteciyi öldürenlerin ceza almasında ciddi pay sahibi olan halk kesimlerinin tutumu açısından da örnektir. Bugün de, halkın gazetecilerle birlikte basın özgürlüğüne, haber alma hakkına sahip çıkması çok ciddi bir ihtiyaç olarak önümüzde duruyor. Bunun başarıldığı bir Türkiye’de, bu kadar gazetecinin hapiste olması ve gazetecilerin sadece işlerini yaptıkları için uzun tutukluluk süreleri ile cezalandırılmasından da söz edilemez.
