in trying to process all my thoughts about veilguard into words it has just hit me that we never find out how solas cleansed the blight from the dagger

the lyrium dagger. the huge plot device that doubles as a gameplay mechanic. that was once the red lyrium idol from da2. that's now completely blight free, something that's supposed to be impossible. and it's not just that we don't find out, we can't even ask about it! ever! we've got proof the blight can be cured hanging from our hip and apparently it never occurs to us to ask about it! we get one throw away line from varric about how it used to be the idol and that's it!

like how do you write a whole game with the blight/blighted gods being front and centre and never answer that I'm bamboozled

house md wildest show on earth. a main character outright assassinates a known dictator, a moment that would be the very beginning or the mid-series crisis in any other show - an act which creates a power vacuum in a foreign nation already filled with child soldiers and genocide, and it's literally only brought up again throughout the season because that guy's wife divorces him over it. and occasionally to explore his relationship with who he is as a person and a catholic after having deliberately taken a life for what he calculates as the greater good, but mostly it's about his divorce

No one had netflix releases a good adaptation of a Latin American literature classic that was considered impossible to adapt to screen on the bingo card.

Even less after the netflix releases a decent but nothing more adaptation of another latam classic also considered impossible to adapt. And the HBO butchers a third one that should be easy to adapt and perfectly setup for a tv show incidents in the past few months.

#cien años de soledad #a hundred years of solitude #the other two are pedro paramo and como agua para chocolate #100 años de soledad I 100% reccomend the show (and book) just be aware that it feels very different from a US/UK show as it should #the others read the books #or watch the como agua para chocolate film #I will never forgive the changes the show did #it was such a great opportunity to show a reality of mexico and that women arent just weak oppressed beings #and the book literally ends with the lead character doing everything in her power to break abuse cycles #super relevant book for today #but nooooo we wanted to say tradition bad and girlboss good #thats against the point of the book #it is one of my favorites ever and I hated every second of the show to the point where I am rereading the book atm to cleanse my brain

years ago i was a part of an argument on here because the question was asked "if jews and black ppl have so much in common, why don't jews act as oppressed as black ppl?" of course all the educated black ppl (like myself) had the same answer: reparations and israel. jews got MONEY even from people who had NOTHING TO DO with the holocaust. EVEN TIL THIS DAY, america is paying jews MONEY as reparations for the holocaust. of course they don't feel oppressed. not only that they have the backing of western powers to ethnically cleanse a land so that they can have a "home." smfh.
