Last night since I received a new bottle of THC gummies, I figured I'd give them a shot. It, supposedly, was a strain that's a little more energizing for things like creativity, while also reducing chronic pain. It was not supposed to put me to sleep, so I took it around 6pm.

Jar: "break into small pieces to test reaction first" Me: pfft, no gummy I've ever had has been that bad Me: (takes whole gummy, sits down to write) 1 hour in, me to chat: what is as fo rme, y I do not know hoe boi 90 minutes in, to a friend via audio message cause it took me too long to type: matt is a camel 100 mins in: (sis finds me unhinged and laughing so hard I'm crying in the kitchen while eating an entire package of vanilla sugar wafers and raspberry jam) 120 mins in, realizing this is not going to end any time soon: I...I need to... gooooo to bed. I slept eleven fucking hours.

Energizing strain my gd ass, once it hit I wrote a single word on my doc and that word was 'camel'.

to anyone who's nervous about using or getting a mobility aid:

it's okay. disabilities are so difficult to manage, and the judgement from others doesn't help that at all. it makes things so confusing, and it can feel heartbreaking when you find something that can help you but realize others may not support it.

yet at the end of the day, you know your body best. nothing anyone thinks can change the pain, instability, weakness, etc. you're experiencing. your struggles are real. i believe you, and so do many people just like you, even strangers. we want you to do what's best for you.

i was really scared to start using a cane and a rollator at first, and some days the insecurity and fear gets to me. but for the most part, nowadays, i don't even bat my eyes when i go to grab either one.

past me was so afraid, and had to have a lot of courage to do this. but i'm so grateful past me did that. mentally, it feels more uncomfortable to go without my aids now. i still haven't jumped the hurdle on the wheelchair yet, but, that's ok. i'll get there.

all to say... today, you may be afraid. but tomorrow, maybe you can have courage - action, in spite of fear. and in some length of time, maybe you'll look back and be glad you made the choice you did.

because the choice is yours.

I keep seeing fanarts of ppl's OC's being on the ship, so do you think that if there was 6st crewmember (specifically, another woman) Anya would've been more safe? Like, someone to actually call Jimmy's begaviour out, someone Anya might wanna trust? Is there a possibility something might have changed (even if a little) or it would not have mattered at all?

I feel like the game would make it part of the commentary on where she would believe and help Anya but still be sort of dismissive? Like the whole “don’t waste time crying and being scared keep going and move on, don’t let him win”. It’s supposed to be positive and reinforcing but sometimes it does more damage in those times of mourning and grief, it feels patronizing, like you don’t understand what you’re going through but they do. Even if they did call out his behavior it’s still on Curly to act and while another voice would help, it’s still 4 against 2 on guys that don’t get it until they have to vs women who always have to.

I don’t mind mouthwashing OCs but I do get a bit bored as they tend to be borderline saviors or like Jimmy aligned. They are either more complicit than Curly or just Jimmy haters for no reason, outside of what the creators know about what he did to Anya. I am never irked by OCs but in a story like mouthwashing you really need to think about what your character adds to the commentary, especially if they are there during the crash. It’s nice to have like characters on Anya’s side more whole heartedly and interesting to see characters who placate Jimmy but sometimes it’s one note.

I can’t and don’t want to police peoples OCs it’s never my intention when I comment on trends I notice, but I do feel like the way people make their OCs interact with these two characters and especially Curly, really show a grave misunderstanding of the narrative and these characters as people vs roles in the story. Still, I know people just make up characters for fun and that’s fine. Great even, but I guys I’m focusing more on OCs that are supposed to have those serious dynamics. My favs tend to be pretty-Tulpar or post-Tulpar au OCs.

The inevitably of the crash is on Jimmy. He did that not because he wasn’t stopped but because all his means to kill Anya were taken. The gun, the axe. Even if Curly did strip him of his co-pilot privileges and try to keep him contained there’s only so many people. An extra body helps but they have jobs they have to do, he’s the only one steering the whole ship and Jimmy would likely have an out: food, bathroom, etc. He’s not new and if he couldn’t crash the ship directly, who’s to say he wouldn’t sabotage something else? A clunker like the Tulpar wouldn’t take much. An extra person helps but it’s just another thing that prolongs what a person like Jimmy is willing to do to shirk responsibility.

It’s more than just needing someone to stand up to him and think that’s what is missing when it comes to inserting a character into the mouthwashing setting.

Rlly curious, how long does it take you to finish a piece? (Character design studies vs one with background, like the elvis in the mirrors) 🙂

Character design studies can be started and finished in one sitting. These probably took an hour and some.

Illustrations like the Elvis Mirror illustration are usually spread out over the span of a few days rather than one sitting. Looking at pieces with fresh eyes is so important to me ! Errors will not make themselves known to me if I simply stare at the same drawing for hours and hours. I need to step away and come back to it more than once to really see what I'm looking at.

Zora princess engagement

The Legend of Zelda has a history of Zora princesses falling in love with/being engaged to the Hero of Hyrule/Link

So therefore, in Echoes of Wisdom, I would like for:

A- Zelda to run across a Zora princess engaged to Link and tell her hands off, he's kidnapped

B- Zelda to be engaged to a Zora princess and tell her no, Link is kidnapped

C- With both the river and ocean Zora being in Eow, BOTH Link and Zelda were engaged to Zora royalty, who are pissed that they now have to marry each other instead since Link is kidnapped

This is half joking but tbh I really would love for the Zora engagement trope to show up again

I mean the entirety of Eow is set up for Zelink. He chases her. She chases him. It's the idea that they're not whole without the other- if Link is taken so is Zelda. (see what I did there. Taken. Like kidnapped but also taken like in love with someone already. So they're both taken- ok moving on)

So yeah the zelink is so strong in this game from the four minute trailer(s), I really wanna see a Zora engagement because of the potential for *drama*

have been thinking about professor sol even. professor bufo with no clearly discernable lesson plan. sol bufo ostensibly martial arts professor who spent two weeks running a yoga and meditation program and shows up to the next class with crochet hooks for everyone. professor bufo who is technically supposed to be assigning grades to students but hasnt given anyone less than an A because "i think they worked really hard and they did a great job :)" (referring to the ugliest and most malformed pot holder anyone has laid eyes upon in their life). professor bufo who is on his way to cluelessly kickstart the sexual awakening of about half the cohort of the academys new students. sol bufo adjunct professor who is gone half the year and his first class back is so immediately and easily baited into going into a long tangent about how cool his friends are. sol who is pretty sure hes easily the most useless professor on campus and almost cries when he sees his little desk overflowing with thank you notes at the end of the year. professor bufo absolutely fucking gloriously hot in the tightest little sweater vest because there were faculty complaints when he wore a crop top to class.
