States Where PornHub Will be Blocked as of July 1, 2024
Tumblr media
Think it will stop there?
From page 5 of the Mandate For Leadership: The Conservative Promise, also known as "Project 2025"
"Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered."

election season always reminds me how little people actually know about politics law the economy and journalism. like literally nobody knows the basics of these things because they assume it’s common sense and just straight up make shit up.

Happy halloween! Friendly reminder this year the scariest thing isn’t ghouls and ghosts- it’s the fact that there are men out there who only oppose project 2025 when they realise that they won’t be able to exploit women for their own sexual pleasure :)

I felt really down today (unmotivated, OCD flare up) and the thing I kept thinking back to is how important it is to maintain hobbies and things that bring you joy in times like these.
Anyway pregnant zoro is going to get me through these rough times and he and his babies are always on my mind.
Save me pregnant zoro. Pregnant zoro save me.

Okay. So.
I just learned that Trump "Got shot at" and out of five shots, only one managed to hit his ear.
I do not condone murder. I do not condone the attempt on anyone's life. I understand why someone might try to do this, as a lot of people will just flat out get killed by Trump and the Republicans if any republican is elected at this point.
However. People have called it suspicious that no one else got hit by a stray bullet--which I also find suspicious. If this was an amateur, then... you know... they wouldn't have been able to miss all of the shots while ALSO not hitting anyone else?
Regardless if this was a staged event or a real shooting, I do not like it. Republicans are already going to spin this to make people hate the democratic party and ruin our chances of avoiding dictator ship.
Idk if I want to reblog or post about politics anymore after this but. This is something I HAVE to say and something I have to Stress.
If Trump wins the elections, me and my loved ones will become enemies of the state. And that terrifies me so much.
So no matter what--please, to anyone who can vote in the USA that follows me--please vote Democratic. I don't care how Republicans try to spin this. I don't care if you think Biden is evil--Trump, and the republicans, are worse.
So don't let this change your vote. We need to be aggressive and to vote Democrat.
Please vote Democrat.
Edit: This could very well be my paranoid brain but also PLEASE STOP JOKING ABOUT WISHING TRUMP DIED. YOU'RE MAKING IT WORSE.

"...According to body-camera footage obtained by the Substack Popular Information, two members of the M4L group called the police to report alleged “pornography” in a book titled Storm and Fury by Jennifer L Armentrout.
More information on how a book with a few makeout scenes evolved into "pornography," and then "child pornography" after the cut.
"...'I’ve got some evidence a crime was committed,' M4L member Jennifer Tapley could be heard saying in the footage during a 25 October phone call to a local sheriff’s office.
Ms Tapley reportedly told police that a 17-year-old 'minor' had checked out the book from Jay High School. 'Pornography given to a minor in a school,' she said.
Another M4L member, Tom Gurski, could also be heard telling police: 'The only reason we are here: A crime is being committed. It’s a third-degree felony. And we’ve got the evidence.'”' Mr Gurski added that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis 'says this is child pornography. It’s a serious crime.'
'It’s just as serious as if I handed a Playboy to [my child] right now,' Ms Tapley added."
About the book itself (also from the article):
"The novel contains 'sexual themes' and 'a few makeout sessions', the Substack reported.
The book’s author, Jennifer Armentrout, told Popular Information she was 'stunned' by the incident, adding that she was shocked to learn that the country is still 'living in an era where, apparently, some adults find it appropriate to contact the police over a fictional book involving gargoyles.'"

going to preface this by saying that this is an extremely nuanced issue that i don’t have a particularly coherent view on, but one issue i see with a lot of anti-pornography arguments (specifically in terms of pornography using live actors) is the idea that you are seeing a person as an object/commodity, but like......at the same time.....isn’t that how we view film/television actors all the time???**
like... a “normal” actor is also using their body as a commodity (since they are, usually, being paid) to produce an emotional response and thus tell a story and, if we’re being honest here, the only REAL difference is what exactly the actor is willing to physically DO and the kind of emotional response they are trying to evoke.
and like....if you want to argue that your position as a viewer watching actors have sex is somehow a qualitatively different experience from watching actors in a “normal” hollywood film, i would ask... barring certain aesthetic decisions...how exactly? the only way that argument makes any sense imo is if you buy into the idea that sex is somehow a qualitatively different activity than any other human activity, which is, i would say, not an argument you can make without backing it up thoroughly.
**i will also say that, historically, acting and sex work have always been intimately intertwined and one of the reasons why women were forbidden from acting in some cultures and historical eras is bc of the implicit connection to prostitution.

banning pornography will not stop people from horny posting on your website but instead all the horny posts will now be about how someone wants to be a 2008 Volvo and have a butch mechanic change their oil and stuff like that

Is the US democratic party perfect? Absolutely not, but these proposals from the conservatives don't create a 'free country', they create a dystopian society with cookie cutter families where people are prosecuted for simply existing. People with wombs become cattle for breeding and trans people die because they can't get the gender affirming care that they need.
Remember tactical voting because this cannot be allowed to be the future of America

but no yeah lets have the conversation:
"the CEO doesnt want to run that kind of website" Excuse, shouldnt have bought the 'go nuts show nuts whatever' website if thats the case. APPEAL DENIED
"we have to follow the TOS of the appstores we're hosted on" Excuse item one, no you dont, item two, you have since those days implimented infrastructure that would allow pornography and sex work on this platform Without violating TOS of any applicable app store. APPEAL DENIED
"we own the site we get to make the rules" Incorrect, this site has only ever made profit when the users willed it. we collectively own the site as a hive mind and no legal change in ownership will change that. APPEAL DENIED
"we have to keep this website safe for the children who use it" Argument based on fallacy banning pornography and sex workers does not prevent pornography and sex work from occuring on the site, it only forces aforementioned users to hide and avoid labling their content appropriately, which REDUCES the safety for children and sex workers alike instead of increasing it, this has been shown to the point that making this argument at all is tantamount to admiting fascist intent APPEAL DENIED
