woah! i wasnt expecting a full character analysis on a scribbly sketchbook type post, but this is a fun breakdown of their dynamics, thank you for the pleasant surprise ^-^ !

wrt who’s harder to draw—personally, i find smth about de lancie’s features more familiar in my muscle memory, MUCH more so than patrick stewert whose face proportions seem to completely elude me. and even if i don’t get Q’s face exactly accurate to his actor’s, IMO the general feeling of the character is easier to convey? (although i suppose i could just be shorthanding him a little too broadly LOL….) but with picard, even though people will probably recognize him from just “triangle nose + bald”, actually capturing his proportions & energy the way i want to has been something of a struggle… its why he looks so different in basically every drawing here LMAO
