Here we are. The place that re-ignited my passion for Skyrim’s dungeons. A long and mildly troublesome to navigate dungeon full of draugr and mages, hellish for even a high level character. It contains no puzzle doors, nor trapped chests, but instead an interesting narrative of a bereaved wife taking it out on others after her husband was killed and ‘defiled’ in the war. Some portions of it are claustrophobic; others are fairly open. It’s definitely an oddball dungeon. If you’re playing through it, the final boss might go through the floor on death- which is annoying when your way out is a key in her pocket.

In exchange for all your effort, you get the unique weapon Ghostblade. A translucent ancient Nord sword that does 3 unblockable extra damage. In hindsight, it wasn’t a very good dungeon, nor a fun one, and the reward only does a paltry 17 damage per hit without improvements.

But the thing that got me going was how no quests led into it, and it had no greater purpose. It was just there. It didn’t even have a word wall. But someone put time and thought and care into it, made a custom character with her own storyline, and used draugr in a unique way. And furthermore, it’s one of the only dungeons I can name off the top of my head to use crush traps. Not just once, but repeatedly! And it wasn’t used in anything!

I hope that, if nothing else, my ratings will make people want to discover their own version of ‘Ansilvund’.

Because I did not actually bring everyone with me, I shall respectfully refrain from drawing the whole teams' reactions. I like to think it was positive enough though based off Wyll and Gale's reaction. and Lae'zel's-ish. I ain't got a unique silly for Gale (as much as I adored his giddy academic outlook to this situation) , but the other two got an honorary interaction with Cephalogold~

Embryo transfer was an expensive failure.

To transfer an embryo, they use ultrasound to guide a wire to the uterus to insert the embryo. Internationally there is between a 1 and 8 percent failure rate where the embryo does not leave the tube and has to be inserted a second time. This damages the embryo, and there is a less than 10 percent chance of a successful pregnancy after this occurs.

The normal pregnancy success rate is 46 percent.

At this hospital, the only hospital in my area that performs ivf treatment, the occurrence of needing to attempt an embryo transfer is 75 percent. Out of the four embryo transfers I've had, three have had the doctor need to attempt the transfer a second time.

Including today.

So, unfortunately, the chances of this embryo transfer working is nill.

I wish I could go to another hospital, but the nearest is a three hour journey by train. And a lot of the treatment in Japan requires coming in daily for injections.

My husband and I have agreed to try for another cycle, which means another month of daily injections for me, followed by a second month of near daily injections. But it's honestly looking like tiny tot will be an only child.

All I can say is fuck the Japanese medical system and fuck poorly trained doctors that apparently got their degrees from a fucking candy box and are so bad at their jobs I don't know why they're even allowed to fucking practice.

Fuck you Japan. Fuck. You.

You should never allow a Valjean and a Javert to claw at each other like this for so long. This is NOT play-fighting! You can tell by their body language and loud off-time off-key vocalizations that they are both seriously aggressive and in extreme distress.

(Just for reference: The proper way to intervene in a situation like this is by throwing thick blankets over their heads, or gently pushing a soft bristled broom between the two of them. DON'T attempt to pick them up with your bare hands or you’ll get bitten.)

And while we’re here, a Javert should NEVER be given a sword. I don't care if you think it'll be "a cute video you can share on tiktok," giving a Javert a sword is simply irresponsible Javert ownership and I can't believe I have to say that. It's just not the proper way to supply your Javert with enrichment, ESPECIALLY if a Valjean is in the room.

And it's like, I get it you guys. I know everyone wants to let their Valjean and Javert socialize together because it's funny to see two different species "playing," especially "natural enemies" like a Valjean and a Javert, and that makes for very good viral social media content. But come on. This just isn't it. Do better.

I watched BH series 5 properly for the first time in I think 3 years, if not 5, it's certainly the longest I've ever gone without rewatching it, and honestly I enjoyed it so much.

Even characters that normally annoy me didn't seem so bad, and Idk it was nice to watch it with fresh eyes.

Wow I Finally Watched Sunshine

What happens when you put Cillian Murphy and Chris Evans in close confinement on their way to send a bomb into the sun?

Did I mention the incredible Michelle Yeoh and Benedict Wong are apart of these space shenanigans?

Have I gotten your attention of this very underrated movie yet?

Sunshine came out in 2007 and I had never once heard or seen anything of this movie until a few days ago, While I was innocently scrolling through Disney+, This movie appeared.

Now, Being a huge fan of Chris Evans for many years and recently diving into the work of Cillian Murphy, I was already hooked.

But then you tell me this is a Sc-fi Psychological Thriller set in space?

NOW I REALLY AM HOOKED.

But this isn't just a 'For the scares and spooks' of space travel that film often portrays, This is a film ahead of it's time. A story that could be told in any year, Because this will always be relevant.

This movie makes you think.

What is beyond the stars? What would you do in these humanity-testing scenarios? What would you do when you've come face to face with not only the surface of the sun, but also your own heart?

A movie that questions your own humanity, A movie that has made you feel something so real that it makes your chest feel tight as if you're in that scenario, As if you're apart of a team with these people by your side day in and day out - That is a job well done.

While this movie did take a little bit to get into, it builds the suspence of what's really going on here. But everytime you think you'll look away, you reach for your phone - The movie does something that makes you need to rewind and go "Did they really just say that?"

And when you reach that moment.

There's no going back.

This movie was so incredibly different than anything I've experience for a while and As a thorough enjoyer of the Sci-fi genre in all different forms, This was a truly pleasant surprise.

kasperia character journal please? 👀

Hi Romeo! Sorry this is a lil late (days later edit: now a lot late), time kind of stopped functioning for part of Friday, hahhh . Anyway some good luck on this one being the only one I have screenshots from while my laptop hangs between this world and the next! (days later edit: it's actually dead forever) Anyway, this was admittedly a bit of a cheat because it is a tabletop character journal, but it's a WIP to me and I like working on it. Counts!

Anywayyyy. I don't think it's actually been said on Tumblr at this point, but Kasander and Asperia are two parts of a dissociative identity disorder system (I don't know if this is too jargon-y an explanation...?). Not the only two, but the two who interface the most with the outside world and in some ways have the strongest feelings about "Asperia's" life. In tabletop, their journal is how they communicate with one another to mitigate the effects of losing time and to get some sense of coordination with what they're doing. On a meta level, it helps me track what each of them knows about game events and how they feel about each other (and any other alter who adds something to the journal). Relationships within the system aren't really something that generally makes sense to externalize into regular RP. The journal is a helpful way to develop that running self-exploration side plot without derailing what's happening in session.

It's been a really fun exercise in character voice. I love writing epistolary type stuff- Carmen's mission report character journal was one of my favorite parts of playing her back in 2019- so it's been very relaxing to me. Excited for our hiatus to end to gather more material for it. I've gotten a little off track from some original plans though- one significant concept I'd had going in was that Kasander's parts of the journal are written as direct letters to Asperia, while Asperia's were supposed to be written as a diary as if the other pages didn't exist. Stubborn willful ignorance from someone struggling to come to terms with their reality. Unfortunately, it's very fun to write things that are a little bit more communicative ^^;; I'll probably have to rewrite pieces of recent parts of the journal to be a bit more in line with that intent before adding the next chunk to our party's notes drive. Not a lot room to develop the twins' relationship over time if there's not much distance between the start and the end, after all.

With that said, some of the direct exchanges are very fun. Pros and cons.

It's also fun to think through what's tracked and what's omitted (intentionally or unintentionally). Kasander loves describing the cultural experience of a location but carefully skips mentioning having actually spent money on things. They're always on thin ice with the funds. Asperia keeps (mildly exaggerated) accounts of personal achievements but completely skips over failures, especially failures that involved injury to the body. She needs to communicate a sense of superiority- something that certainly works when Kasander apologizes profusely any time the body is hurt under their care.

(yeah it seemed like a good idea at the time to use a more "handwritten" font for the final thing but I've been having A Lot Of Regrets)

I unfortunately don't have a screenshot, but the journal has also had one small addition from Paracelsus as well. It's just a to-do list of ways to organize and restock the crafting supplies. Very typical of them. Asperia thinks he wrote it, like everything Paracelsus writes.

Also fun to get to work in some in-world explanations for things that raise some meta questions, like not having some items that I need for my character concept (I ran out of starting equipment budgettt). This bit is also consistent with the pattern that Asperia avoids referring to Kasander by name.

How common the two of them actually sabotaging each other's possessions is has yet to truly be established, but it is an aspect of what the party thaumaturge refers to as their "feud."

Pros over BG3: they are aware of and communicating each other, and they didn't have to have five near death experiences for it to happen. Yay!

Cons over BG3: lot more hostility from Asperia persisting past that point. Kasander did in fact ruin their life a little.
