Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:
Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.
The actual difference is
when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names
when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names
hope this helps!

Being jurgen leitner the day that gerry almost killed him was probably really surreal. Imagine you’re minding your business, collecting fucked up books, and out of nowhere this goth guy covered in eye tattoos shows up and beats you half to death, then stops, goes, “no you’re too pathetic to be jurgen leitner” and leaves without further elaboration. And you dont correct him, you like being alive after all, and after that you just… continue with your life. And then several years later you tell this to some random guy in the tunnels you’ve been hiding in, and he not only knows who the goth was, but seems somewhat fond of the goth. And then you get brutal pipe murdered by the random guy’s boss. Oops

Do any of you ever wonder if Camp Half-Blood accidentally brought in a demigod of a different pantheon before?
This would be especially hilarious if it happens sometime after The Last Olympian/Heroes of Olympus, where the gods are required to claim their kids quickly.
A whole day passes, and the new demigod needs to sleep in the Hermes Cabin and Percy is furious. Meanwhile, the Greek Gods are pointing at each other and shouting, contacting the most obscure of mini gods. Chaos erupts on Olympus as every deity in Greek Mythology is called upon and interrogated. Hermes hasn't run around so much in centuries.
Hecate sits in silence, fully aware of what's happening, but enjoying the show too much to intervene.

Drives me mad to think Stanford was this close to calling Stan earlier if not for Bill’s interference, and as a fucked up call back, Bill pulls the “Suicidal Phone Call to Stan” on Ford after they breakup.
Long before Weirdmageddon, Bill did not like Stan. Abusers isolate victims. It was easy with Fiddleford, but Bill knew Ford missed his brother deeply. Stan’s personality is much stronger and louder than Fiddleford’s. Stan was gonna pull Ford away if Bill allowed Ford to reach out because despite everything Bill has some understanding of interpersonal relationships.
Because if he didn’t, he wouldn’t have threatened to call Stan. He knows deep, deep down inside that Ford wants his brother back.
It hurts so much to reread the lost Journal pages. Ford’s loneliness was so palpable. He was a deeply lonely man who really didn’t know how to talk to people. That’s what Stan was there for.

The Regency Revolution
By Robert Morrison
(No quotes for this one, mainly because the most striking quotes are ones he’s quoted from others)
A very interesting book giving a broad-but-detailed overview of a range of topics relating to the Regency period. While his book is separated into very broad aspects of the Regency, Morrison puts enough small details in to fill in the blanks and provide a decent background of important topics of the time. Personally, I’ve used it as an introduction to that time period, and have picked out people, events, and topics of interest within each of the chapters. The Regency Revolution is well written, well researched, and never boring. It’s a wonderful overview of the early 1800’s and how they have impacted societal development since.
I’ve got so many sticky notes sticking out of this poor book tagging topics that I want to look into further – from the Quaker woman who revolutionized the female prison system, to the cases against homosexuality and lesbianism; the background, contents and impacts of various pieces of literature from Shelley (x2) and Byron to Belzoni and Morrison; the development of Regency Park… this book is just a perfect introduction to the revolutionaries of the Regency, and leaves you wanting to know so much more.
If you want to know some of the more interesting side of nineteenth century Britain, I’d definitely give this book a go
