Hitchhiking across timelines like snow into spring rain
You told me not to be afraid to sing
When you opened your mouth the sound of trumpets came out
And it made the bees turn into birds as they flew through my mouth from my chest
Their wings soared into the open sky but the sun melted their wax with its lemon glow
But we couldn’t let go of the people who we knew a few months ago
My brain is trying to repair itself still it has been a long time since my heart was in tandem
Conversation wasn’t anymore and we both forgot the sound of each other’s voice
The record was scratched and that meant the music was over, but I couldn't hear you anyway
The mountain was ready for sleep and the darkness was starting to enclose us
In the last picture I ever took of you there was a smirk on your face
Your head tilted while you wore the bandana you stole from my dog
I knew it was missing, but it seems to have been found in an Instagram around the neck of a past lover
Unintentional critical time intervention
I affirmed my supports and you affirmed yours as you smother them we can see your gas light is on
The tank may read empty but you insist on riding on fumes

“walking down your authentic path can be one of the loneliest roads to travel on because the longer you’re on it, the more you realize that only a select few will be compatible with who you are with no mask on.”
