The big hits for those who can't (or don't want to) turn audio on:

For love languages, touch is a pretty strong no. Acts of service and quality time are his primary love languages. Also, he may not realize it, but he would actually love to be on the receiving end of gifts, because it would "surprise him." He hasn't gotten a lot of gifts over the course of his existence!

Edwin hates/dislikes a bunch of stuff, but the things I found most interesting were: abandonment; Satan's star; being late; loud chewers; and tobacco pipes.

"Loud chewers" threw me off, but then I remembered that he got devoured alive for 70 years straight so it makes sense again.

So back in Empires season 1 when Sausage was starting to get possessed and corrupted by Xornoth he had that dramatic split from the Wither Rose Alliance which was when the roseblings felt Sausage was too far gone for saving. Then Sausage went back to Mythland and built these dark buildings which was meant to be big turning point in the narrative where Sausage has gone fully evil and there's no turning back with the buildings cementing that, and yet the buildings he decides to build are a tower and a blacksmith.

Let me repeat that again

The first thing Sausage did when he stopped being allies with the wizard and the tinker was build a tower and a blacksmith

Sausage never stopped loving those two, it's a shame they never realised that until it was too late.

not to be dramatic about crow’s haircut but it marks such a beautiful moment of character development for him. he finally met cayde, the man uldren killed, whose memory crow carried for years with a crushing sense of guilt, grief, and responsibility…and crow was welcomed by him instead of hated.

it allowed him to move forward. at least to an extent.

crow considered cayde to be one of the last pieces of his past life that he could never allow himself to be forgiven for—he was trapped by the knowledge of what his hands had done when they had been uldren’s. he kept uldren’s haircut like a punishment, an eternal reminder of the pain he had caused. i don’t think it’s a coincidence that the moment cayde embraced him as freely as he did, crow finally allowed himself to let go of that last physical tether to uldren.

he cuts his hair, and sees a new face in the mirror. his own. one that looks like him, not cayde-6’s murderer. he will always carry that pain, just as he will always honor cayde’s memory with newfound fondness…but now he meets his grief with the warmth and understanding that cayde gifted him. crow is free at last to allow himself to embrace his own identity, having finally been given permission to do so by the only person in the whole galaxy that could have granted it.

CAST: adam lambert (emcee), ayla ciccone-burton (u/s sally bowles), bebe neuwirth (fraulein schneider), calvin leon smith (clifford bradshaw), steven skybell (herr schultz), ... cast info & playbill insert included in linked folder.

notes: adam lambert's emcee is astounding. vocally, he's the best emcee to come out of this production, and he has the acting chops to match. ayla ciccone-burton's sally seems a bit more worldly than auliʻi cravalho's, whose sally comes across as very young. i think i prefer cravalho's interpretation, but they're both amazing. bebe neuwirth is stunning as fraulein schneider, of course, and her chemistry with steven skybell as herr schultz is off the charts. as my relationship with cabaret has developed over time, i've become more and more invested in schneider and schultz's story over sally and cliff's, so i really love what neuwirth and skybell are able to do with the characters. i still love cliff and sally though, and calvin leon smith as cliff is possibly my favorite cliff out of all i've seen. he's so sweet and caring, and really plays the softness of the role so well. henry gottfried humanizes ernst a lot in his portrayal, which the character obviously doesn't deserve, but gottfried is great no less and what he brings to the role is impressive. his ernst comes off kind of queer in my opinion, at least in his interactions with cliff, which i think is in line with the direction from the west end. overall, i just love this show and while i was initially hesitant about this revival (as a huge fan of the mendes version), they really knocked it out of the park
