My gift for @puddtoast for @dishonoredgiftexchange’s 2024 fugue feast. I went with the prompt of Aramis Stilton thinking about lost love in the wake of Luca’s downfall while listening to his last audiograph from Theodanis Abele, and then realizing he’ll be okay when a monarch butterfly lands on the audiograph player.

I’ve been head over heels for this emotional sucker punch of a prompt, so I hope I did it justice!! Also I’m delighted to have finally drawn Stilton for the first time. Thank you for providing such fun and detailed prompts to choose from! (Btw I didn’t know what symbolism you were hoping for - if any - when requesting a monarch, so I ran with what I grew up with, in terms of the whole “carrying souls of the dead” thing. Hope that works for you!)

Another Summer, Another Fugue Feast! ⛱️

Hello Dishonored fans! It's that time of year again for our twice-a-year gift exchange event! If you need to read up on how it all works, you can check out our Carrd 😎

Our schedule for this event looks like this:

May 5th to May 29th (25 days): Sign-ups to participate are open! We accept anyone who signs up!

May 30th to June 2nd (4 days): Prompts are allocated and sent out! So be on the lookout for your messages.

June 3rd to July 8th (36 days): Creation period where you work on your gift! Check-in forms will open near the end of June or beginning of July.

July 9th to July 15th (A week): Gifting period to give/post your gift!

July 16th to July 22nd (A week): Backend wrap-up and pinch hitter week (aka if someone drops out and we need someone else to make a gift).

On the seventh day of celebrating the restoration of the young Empress Emily to her throne, Corvo Attano snaps.

It is not a gradual onset but rather the result of months during which Corvo would bottle up his feelings. All the anger and fury, all the sadness, and all the vengeance for the unjust. The feelings of a father wrongly accused and separated from his child.

For those seven blissful days, he succeeds in holding it together. At least until another noble makes a passing comment, degrades his still too young daughter for being a child when that is all Emily should be at the age of thirteen.

She deserves a sense of normalcy in her life after witnessing the death of her mother, after being kidnapped and held prisoner, after nearly being used as a tool for puppet monarchy.

A child!

So it is on the seventh day that Corvo rises from his seat in the middle of Parliament and disappears into the streets of Dunwall.
