So I reread the percy jackson books before I watched the show and the last time I read them was when I was like eleven so I really didn't understand the romance of Percabeth. Side note but still related, I shipped Rachel and Percy more for some reason. Maybe cuz me and Rachel both had red hair or something? Probably cuz I thought the Rachel x Percy romance was more obvious than Percabeth but yeah. Due to this I really hate the Rachel haters. Like she was just a girl with a crush? Who DIDN'T have a crush on Percy, let's be real. Anyway back to my main point, rereading I saw all the little Percabeth moments and oh my lord they are so freaking cute! I'm a sucker for romance and Percabeth is the standard. I'm super excited to buy and read the heros of olympus series because of more Percabeth, Leo Valdez, Will Solace, solango, dark Percy, ect. i love seeing people think about all the things percy did for annabeth but we forget a lot of the things she did for him. she trusted percy in SoM to keep her safe while she listened to the sirens song. she gave up immortality as a hunter for him in TTC, long before he did the same in TLO. she broke the rules to sit with percy at dinner in BotL. she entrusted her own quest to percy, even though she had been hoping for it all her life. she was the one speaking at his funeral, not grover, not chiron, she was the one declaring her feelings for him. for hells sake she took a knife for him because she ‘had a feeling’ it was important. she was the one counting down the hours he had been missing is TLH and was the first person off of the Argo II in MoA because she was so worried about percy. she is just as in love with percy as he is with her and the fandom just doesn’t show it.

need a scene change in season five where percy asks for kiss because it's kind of a tradition. but instead of annabeth not looking at him. she stops what she's doing and walks up to him. they're nose-to-nose. staring at each other. and annabeth almost looks aggravated. until she tells him to come back alive and he'll see. and percy stares deep into her eyes just nods. and then they part ways. and immediately start kicking ass on opposite ends of the battlefield. and the remaining campers are stunned. but quickly gather themselves to exchange drachma before fighting because they placed a bet on whether or not these two have kissed yet. and apparently.

Okay but when Thalia calls Percy "seaweed brain" and Percy's first reaction is "only annabeth can call me that!" Is SO cute??? How is it not talked about more?? He got all possessive on Annabeth's behalf like "that is OUR thing, nobody else does that!" 🫠🥹

Annabeth and Percy's relationship is so great for so many reasons. Since they were already close friends who had been on numerous quests and saved eachother countless times they had the foundation of trust and familiarity.

Annabeth has FULL confidence in Percy's abilities and trusts that he can find a way out of situations. Even to where she'll push him off a cliff because she knows he can make it. She knows Percy is smart and listens to his ideas.

Percy intrinsically trusts Annabeth. When she pushes him off a cliff he knows it's for a reason and that it's because she knows he can take it. Annabeth comes up with a plan and he gives it a shot even when it doesn't make sense to him because he knows she thought it through more than him. He admires her intelligence and strength.

They are an absolute UNIT working together. They always defy the odds when their TOGETHER. They will always defend eachother. They bring out eachothers greatest strengths.

the way that jonathan stroud wrote lucy and lockwood as characters that directly parallel each other in everything!!! she Listens and he Sees. he’s the title character and she’s the narrator. she has this great power and he wants to build a great agency. when apart she’s just as reckless as he is. even down to their likes and dislikes: she hates orange juice pulp and he loves it if only to pretend he’s a whale. she leaves to protect him and he comes back to protect her. she wants to communicate with ghosts and he wants to fight them. they have matching white streaks!!!! they are the most alike and the most different and that is why they work. literally no one has ever created such a compelling relationship with such compelling characters!!!!
