Katabasis of Faulkner Unknown Faulknarian disciple Grand Aquifer ruins

This was conceived as a documentation of Faulkner's legacy by an unknown disciple, containing symbolic references to his rise to power.

E.g. His left hand holds the central component of the Wither Mark, signifying how he withheld knowledge of the mark as his leverage to power.

to me, the main difference between Jon Magnus Archives and Carpenter Silt Verses

is that while they're both their respective god's favourites

and equally unhappy about it

I can see what the Trawlerman likes about Carpenter

I have no idea what the Eye sees in Jon

"ceaseless watcher turn your gaze upon this wretched thing" except it did and it's response was, "oooh I want that one".

So about the funny ‘translate the silt verses to Dutch post’

I’m thinking about how the Netherlands is literally what would happen if the trawler man got legalised in the long term. Because our country’s entire thing is being control freaks over water. We are technically in danger of flooding all the time but we don’t because of how much thought goes into our dams. We restrict the water, build on top of it. In every sense that’s such a unnatural concept. A country literally under sea level keeping itself dry by its own ingenuity.

If the Netherlands existed in the silt verses universe, how many sacrifices would go just to keep the water from not drowning all of us. Do you think we’d have sacrificed people to create Flevoland, so we have the power to build land on sea.

And like specifically Frisian’s just- work so wel with the whole silt verses fibe. ‘the name is derived from the verb fresare in Vulgar Latin, meaning 'milling, cutting, grooving, crushing, removing shells'; this name may have been given to the Frisii because they 'cut the land': digging ditches and dykes to irrigate the wet marshlands they lived at.’ (According to Wikipedia.) Like it is most definitely unintentional but I always see my own culture back in the silt verses. With the way so much of ours has been defined by our relation to water.

Uh conclusion I think Faulkner would hate the Dutch lol.

this is HEAVILY inspired by the skull of mary magdalene, which is mounted in a statue

the dress is inspired by celtic dress

the patterns on the armbands are the same as the patterns on roemont's robes, since they're a basic traditional pattern in the parish

her cape clasp has a tessalated fishhook pattern

one of her eyes is growing out on a stalk :]

the way her body is portrayed as changing is very much the same as how i draw stanton's body changing

i really like the timelapse because you get to watch my thought process in her transformation and it kinda looks like she's transforming in real time :D

not the christ parallels... faulkner built his own crown of thorns and hammered the nails into his own cross and now he's walking to the place where they'll string him up and pray to him through his pleas for it all to end. they'll remain fervent in their faith in him, in his story, and turn his agony into a symbol of worshipful adoration. he will never be just a man again.

i'm only irish in the sense that my ancestors immigrated to the united states from ireland 100+ years ago, but every time i say "cairn maiden" out loud, i say it in méabh de brún's immensely irish accent. i don't know why. i can't help it. i try to say it in my normal voice and Nope. the specific way she says "cairn maiden," has overrun my ability to say it in my standard voice. also i have a hugeeeee crush on her voice but that's not just the accent, that's the power of méabh de brún's acting skills.

this episode was so fun. roemont fails at betraying and killing faulkner but with the help of greve faulkner is successful at betraying and killing roemont but then greve betrays faulkner, blaming him for killing roemont. carpenter and hayward play i-spy.

I’m just Thinking A Lot about The Silt Verses season 1 when Hayward is screaming after Carpenter that she better find some God of hunted pathetic little creatures because that will be the only God she can pray to while Hayward moves heaven and earth to hunt her down.//The Silt Verses season 3 when Faulkner’s betrayal has turned the entire Parish of Tide and Flesh against Carpenter and she is forced to become a disciple of The Cairn Maiden (who warns her of hunters coming near, who gives her an out when she’s cornered, who points her from one spot of rest to the next) in order to survive the pursuit.
