Give me your attention, please ✋
My campaign has stagnated💔
I am like you, exactly like you.
I was a successful person in my life; I have always been proud of myself, and my family was proud of me too. I had a life, dreams, and ambitions that I was striving for. My life was full of lectures, volunteering, teaching students, and adventures, but for more than 389 days, all of this stopped completely! Can you feel my broken heart? Can you imagine how I feel at this moment? Tell me what I can write for you to feel me and offer help to me and my family by donating and sharing?!
Hello, I'm Ola, a graduate student from the faculty of science - Al-Azhar University in G@za P@lestine. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. As you reading my message, myself and my family, “my mother, father, three sisters, and my little brother,” are trying to survive under all kinds of suffering including but not limited to fear, instability, and starvation, thirst, and poverty in northern G@za.
After the prices went up so crazy, I created this campaign to help my family provide food, drink and essential needs. I know for sure that you can't help all families that want your help but at least you can help those who come across your life.
I sincerely hope you can empathize with our dire situation and consider supporting us.
And yes, even the smallest amount can help because it's all about a collection of these small amounts until we reach our final goal and be able to rebuild our lives.
I am the eldest daughter who has to help herself and her family, but of course I will not be able to do it alone. Will you help me with that?!
Thank you for standing by me. ❤️
Please donate and/or reblog 🥺🙏🇵🇸

Fascinating trend I’ve noticed from lurking in Frankenstein-related tags:
If there’s a male construct, people frame him as the creator’s child. He has full agency and personhood and deserves to be raised in a family. The most obvious example of this is Frankenstein’s Creature, but you’ll see echoes of it with creators of robots, Pinocchio, etc.
If there’s a female construct, people frame it as expected that she’s created to be a romantic/sexual object. I saw a few posts that Pygmalion is morally superior to Victor Frankenstein because he fell in love with his creation, for instance. I don’t need to go into the dozens of “make a female robot and fall for her” tropes.
The most uncomfortable intersection of this dichotomy are the countless posts insisting that it was Victor’s duty as a father to create a female to gift to his son—and that the “wait but she’ll be an actual person of her own” reservations Victor had in the book were immoral. He owes his son (male construct = family, agency, personhood) the gift of a person (female construct = object, no agency, not family). She wouldn’t be a daughter, just “the Bride.” Nothing about Víctor owing her happiness, but the exact opposite: that she must be custom-designed to be miserable and rejected so she’d be trapped with the male-creature.
For a piece of literature where personhood is such a central theme, it’s a disturbing and disappointing trend.

Those critics who read Frankenstein as an incest tale see the monster as a psychoanalytic symbol, as a living psychic projection whose importance lies in what he means to Frankenstein rather than in what the monster himself feels and suffers. Those critics who read the monster as a daughter focus on the monster's anger and pain, but tend to skirt the importance of the incest theme to the monster's anguish. When Frankenstein is read through the lens of Mathilda, the tale of father-daughter incest that Shelley wrote immediately after Frankenstein, one can propose a fuller interpretation: Frankenstein tells the story of a father and daughter locked in bitter conflict; more specifically, Mary Shelley portrays Victor Frankenstein as a paternal figure who projects his own incestuous guilt upon his creature and, having made it monstrous, rejects it.

The most glaring example of how badly tumblr interpretations miss how the Frankenstein novel is a criticism of systems and environment is at Justine’s trial. There’s so much uproar about how Victor is responsible for Justine’s death, simply because he didn’t speak up and say he knew who the real killer was (which he didn’t—he just had an overwhelming premonition and ZERO evidence. broken clock is right twice a day etc). I’ve even heard it framed as “his turn to being a villain” because of his cowardice etc etc
Nothing about the crooked court itself?
Nothing about the confessor who forced Justine to admit to murder to escape eternal damnation?
Nothing about the religious system that uses spiritual blackmail to spill innocent blood?
Nothing about the concept of justice itself, which the book goes on a bitter rampage about, which Shelley herself was vehemently outspoken against as twisted and corrupt?
But no, let’s handwave all of that, it’s all the fault of that twitching twenty-year-old in the back wondering if he’ll get thrown in an insane asylum if he starts shouting that the monster he created killed a child, because his depression levels have hit “everything bad in the world is my fault” extremes. That’s the REAL take away here.

Having "a lot" of followers on tumblr is funny because probably 80% of them are ghost blogs who haven't been on here in like a decade.
It's like, no no, those aren't my followers, that's a graveyard! I'm the caretaker of a thousands of tombs. I love them, but they've been dead for seven years.
