@elodieunderglass I think you would appreciate this 3D printing project I found for adding legs to an IKEA Lämplig. More images and source files are on Thingiverse, so if you have access to a 3D printer you can make them yourself!
#it also comes with a file called NutInMe.stl#that you can print and stick a nut in to make sure your nuts will fit in the legs#also you can see the provenance of the file on thingivers#from which I have learned that someone started with a model of a leg#and then expanded it to a nearly-complete human body#and then someone else took the human body and stripped it back down to the leg#in a sort of bizarre STL atavism#asses to asses‚ legs to legs I guess#3d printing#horrible things with legs

Patent Model - Improvement in Boats for Duck-Shooting, made by Robert Bogle, 1857, in the collection of the Hagley Museum (@hagleyvault) of Wilmington, DE.
Bogle's patent was an improvement to "a low floating boat or battery for trailing and shooting duck and other water-fowl, in which the gunner is secreted, as well as the boat, and protected from the surrounding water, while he can propel the boat toward the game by his feet and legs…" (Patent number: 17,192)

A polymer teapot someone made. Horrible thing with...finger legs?
I’ve kept this in my inbox because it amuses me to keep looking at it but the time has come to release it to the world. Interestingly I did see this very early on when the person posted it on Reddit (I’ve since lost the post entirely) but you were faster, indicating that the tumblr mutual algorithm is both faster and more targeted than whatever slave labor AI Reddit uses to push content in front of your face. Good job!!! You are so superior to AI in every way

not furniture but after my grandma died we were cleaning out her house and found this bottle opener made out of a kangaroo arm.
Not furniture, not #horrible things with legs, but definitely shouldn’t be forgotten. What a worthy item, thank you so much. I’m amazed at how it really is just a kangaroo arm bottle opener

One for Horrible Things with legs? Though slush ice is a delightful thing so maybe it’s just the legs that are horrible.
I can see that the gimmick is that the legs taste differently and that’s extremely and overwhelmingly desirable to people from the ages of 6-16, before which you don’t care and after which you might be mildly concerned about the plastic and the strange sensuality of the vessel (and also slightly less compelled by novelty items.) Thank you so much for this I love it
