After Armand is turned, he's kidnapped and taken into the Children of Darkness, where he becomes a fearsome cult leader, a true believer, who will subdue any immortal who doesn't fall in line.

Both of them are so ready to believe in something bigger than themselves, to throw themselves into the passionate worship of something greater, to be the acolyte of something that they believe is true.

Marius has a type, that's what I'm saying.

Night Island, Present Day

Marius had observed Pandora and Bianca kissing before and it slowly struck him, the weakness of jealousy. He supposed Pandora made the right call, she deserved far better than him, and so did Bianca. That did not make the wound sting less. Even so, hadn’t he done worse to Armand? Hadn’t he used Bianca as a means to an end (to an extent)? Of course, he had. So rather than judge, Marius de Romanus, Marius the patient scholar and painter, Marius… of all vampires puts his pride aside and bites his tongue and smiles through his pain and loneliness. They were never his to lose after all.

Thinking a lot about what the post-Blood Communion de Romanus polycule would look like. I'm one of those Marius x Armand shippers who have ambivalent feelings about them getting together in current times. I think if they got back together, it would have to be an entirely new relationship, built from scratch, because they just don't have the same things to gain from one another anymore in their relationship.

But! heheheheh

Pandora has a lot to offer Armand as far as the role Marius used to fulfill in his life. Whereas Marius was so totally and firmly Daddy, she would be the most fun Mommy or Sister domme. She's so not squeamish in a way that directly contrasts Marius' prudishness, which would make for many satisfying/fun scenes between them.

Sometimes I think it gets overlooked in fandom how much of a Tit Man Armand is. In the brothels, he talks about the "buxom beauties," and when he meets Sybelle for the first time, her tits are the feature he mentions the most. Just imagining him snuggled up to Pandora, utterly safe as her bb boy/little brother, burying his face against her breasts, gently nuzzling in and biting hard at her nipple while she strokes his hair, gently tucking the strands behind one ear.

He wants to set up everything so nice and neat for her and ensure she always has a stable home place to return to. Everyone underestimates him sometimes and gets too caught up in seeing him as the teenage cherub, but she admires the man inside him, the former coven torture king who is down for anything in the modern age. She's always had a soft spot for young men - she invited a boatload of them to dine in her villa in Antioch during her first week there; she traveled with Arjun as her son/lover. They would be such good support for one another when Marius is in A Mood.

I just think that, together, they're Pretty Neat

@monstersinthecosmos and I were talking and she dug up this exchange Anne had with someone on Fanpop back in the day, concerning vampires' love and sexuality. There were quite a few fascinating tidbits but these are my favorites:

I see them [vampires] as transcending matters of gender or age. Lestat loves Louis. Louis loves Claudia. Armand loves Lestat. Lestat loves Gabrielle. There is no distinct difference in the quality of any of these loves. This has also been described as polymorphous sensuality.

"--- Armand is desperately in love with Lestat but it has nothing to do with sex. Armand feels Marius failed him and Marius feels Armand failed him, and that part has nothing to do with sex. Marius and Pandora, that is a love affair, but again sex has nothing to do with it. So they are all capable of loving people of their own gender and the other gender; gender doesn't matter. It's the essence. Lestat loves David Talbot as a lover, a friend, a mentor, a father, etc. --- It goes on like that. I'm verklempt at the fact Anne mentioned Armand and Lestat in the same vein as Armand and Marius and Marius and Pandora, but also I love how much she emphasizes that they can cannot be pinned down and all that forms of love are rewarding!

It's just such a revolutionary way of thinking especially when you consider that she was a woman born in the 1940s in the American South. She may have missed the beat on some things but on others, she was right on the fucking money.
