What?? Marius and Pandora actually enjoying each other's company? Yes! According to Pandora in her own memoir, it's a thing that really happened!
[I think I might be back on my Marius/Pandora bullshit.]

Is Pandora / Bianca a TVC ship because I just think it would be funny for every one of Marius' fledgling exes to be like "you know what would REALLY piss him off?"

In the spirit of the season, I made this picture of The Vampire Pandora for a friend not on tumblr. <3 I really wanted to be extremely indulgent and draw a pretty roman lady with a sunset, so this Pandora when she is still mortal, pre-Dark Gift.

“Resignation will do you no good,” I said, “when such a time comes. Resignation requires will, and will requires decision, and decision requires belief, and belief requires that there is something to believe in! And all action or acceptance requires a concept of a witness! Well, there is nothing, and there are no witnesses!"

Marius de Romanus and Pandora, as (very reluctant) Saturn and Ops or... to the Greeks, Cronus and Rhea.

Can you describe Pandora to me, as I haven‘t read the books? (I only read the first two)
She is Marius‘ first fledgling and first ex-wife and she put up with his bullshit longer than anyone should. (I say this lovingly, I’m one of those weirdos who like him.)
She’s 2000 years old, but somewhat annoyingly tends to put herself in the power of other men - there’s a fledgling she does not dare to break up with until she gets Marius to destroy him for her in the Prince Lestat era.
She also wants to start a religion around Akasha when Marius introduces her to the parents, which is one of the reasons for one of her many many fights with Marius.
Also she inspires the foundation of the Talamasca by telling a ghost to get his shit together and make himself a body.
I’m afraid I only have some random facts about her because I never found her that interesting as a character and honestly Anne Rice was just always better at writing men. But I’m confident the show writers would flesh her out into an interesting character.
Her book is not that long and works well as a stand alone novel though, and I enjoyed it, though not enough to recall many details.

You really gotta admire Marius and his "never give up" spirit. He just knows that the 259th gift he's given Pandora is what will really do the trick, and NOT cause her to throw him in the ocean!

Things that I know already about Part 2 of ADOC:
➤ Which main characters will be dead by the end of it (-cut to me cackling bc of course I figured that out forever ago-)
➤ Akasha! Lots of Akasha! Hot, murderous, let's kill all men Akasha 🥰🥰🥰🥰
➤ Claudia is going to be dream-haunted by [redacted] who will turn out to be [redacted] even though you're going to all assume it's [redacted]
➤ Grandparents Loustat
➤ Devil's Minion Pantloop Scene at TVL Concert
➤ [redacted] is going to fuck Lestat's mom. No, I'm being deadly serious, and I laughed about it for three days. The looks on their faces when the whole room realizes is the best note I've ever written in my notes app while working out.
➤ The Twins! Pandora! ACTUAL BIANCA!
➤ Talamasca Civil War. VAMPIRE DAVID TALBOT.
➤ Marius Getting Slurped. Like a fucking Capri-Sun
Things I Have Not Figured Out About Part 2:
➤ How long this fucking bitch is going to end up being and how on earth I'm going to write all this
➤ Will I Be Murdered For This?
➤ Can I finish before S3?

I raised my head slowly, then sat back on my heels. A real revelation came upon me. I cannot fully record it. I knew it, fully, in an instant. I knew that all things were symbols of other things! I knew that all rituals were enactments of other happenings! I knew that out of our practical human minds we devised these things with an immensity of soul that would not allow the world to be devoid of meaning.

@vamptember
Preface: Prefacing this by saying whilst, yes, I am a Marius de Romanus enjoyer I enjoy him critically, the way one enjoys Dracula (1897) whilst not condoning Bram Stoker's very obvious racism and sexism. (I approach most media this way and it works for me), that said, if you loathe Marius? valid, don't take it out on real people though, and if you love him? great, I am not stopping you. Just play nice in the sandbox everyone alright? Anything I say came about from my own observation and is not a condemnation of anyone else enjoying a fictional character.
Writer's note: this is going to be marginally ahistorical and I've taken liberties, gladiatorial games as we understand them now weren't a massive thing, they became one in the time of the Nerva-Antoinine dynasty and the Colosseum finished building under Commadus (he is the villain the film Gladiator). But I have been sitting on this meta since I got back from Quebec so here y'all go.
Marius de Romanus as a human doesn't approve of gladiatorial games, he thinks they are obnoxious and a meaningless sacrifice of life.
Marius as a vampire sees the theoretical value in them as a manner of brutal keeping of social order, he still doesn't attend as games take place during the day.
It is one of the many squabbles he and Pandora have, she thinks they are morbidly fascinating.
Marius didn't understand 'why the Romans were like this' (derogatory) until he became a vampire.
He finds them to be 'strange' 'morbid' and 'fetishistic' (a bit of a hypocritical statement but what are TVC vampires if not compelling hypocrites?)
Commadus's reign is one of the few things that made Marius de Romanus sympathetic to Christians and Christianity (book! spoilers) <- until Constantine the wife and son murderer (historical fact) ruined everything.
