Summary:

Benedict did not end his life in Blood Communion, instead we find him trying to navigate life without his master. It seems though that in the path of finding his new way, he develops a crush on another formidable ancient. A crush which will quickly turn into obsession.

I was asked to draw someone I’ve never drawn, so here is poor, miserable Benedict, companion of Rhoshamandes, whose dramatic suicide in “Blood Communion” sets the main conflict in motion. 

In “Prince Lestat,” Lestat offers this particularly poignant description of him:

“Such a submissive and defeated figure, this Benedict, pretty like his maker, with sad reddened eyes, and walking with a modern demeanor, casually, without that sense of presence so effortlessly reflected by the older ones. You would have thought: Just a kid, just a student somewhere, just a boy.”
