Sometimes it feels like I'm the only sonnuvabitch on this earth who likes the Tower as-is and doesn't think she needs to be toned down or taught a lesson or anything like that.

Her route's got a lot of themes about religious trauma and BDSM dynamics, the way those dynamics empower or break down someone-both from the submissive and the dominant's perspective-and they intertwine so beautifully, one dynamic actively contributing to the other and vice versa. In a game about autonomy and agency, there practically had to be a route like hers-where her very presence is so dominating the player does what she wants even when they choose otherwise. One where there is an inherently superior force. A "god" like princess is perfect for that. Her route doubles as a pretty perfect piece of foreshadowing for the Shifting Mound-the Tower and the Wild are the two routes that get "closest" to what the Shifting Mound is, a physical manifestation of death and change. Some would call that a goddess, don't you think?

I understand why people come from that route going "oh, an abusive relationship." and find it uncomfortable, yeah, but that's far from the only thing going on in it. The things it does have to say about religion, abuse, and BDSM style relationships wouldn't work if she was defanged to any degree. Making her any less "femdommy".....would mean she isn't a femdom anymore, because giving you orders, expecting you to obey, punishing you when you don't, is kind of what a femdom does. It'd actively detract from the (multiple!) things her route's fundamentally about. If she makes you stab yourself over and over again because you disobeyed your god, that's what I'd call the perfect horror twist from the horror video game/love story on what kind of punishments a real-life femdom would inflict for "disobeying."

Hell, if we think of it as a metaphor for sexual penetration, it could even be perceived as more of a reward. (Though of course, the horror game will always take the horror interpretation and be completely straightforward with the whole stabbing-yourself scene-the eroticism of violence is more Adversary's thing, anyways.)

I'm not even going to get into the Broken. He has given up and is, well, broken, on every route that isn't hers as well, and I think we're doing him a major disservice if we act like the only reason he's like that is because of a princess he doesn't even meet in those routes.

You don't have to like what she does, but you have to admit she does it extremely well.
