Something incredibly satisfying about knowing your craft and the confidence that goes with it. Just the casual โ€œyeah I could make thatโ€. Want a band tee? Yeah I can embroider my own with the lyrics I want. Bridesmaid dress too long? Yeah I can hem it. Need new slippers? Yeah I can crochet a pair (and give them bunny ears). As cameras becomes more normalized (Sarah Bernhardt encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use cameras because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by manufacturing companies. - kazโ€™s trauma isnโ€™t just pekka rollins being responsible for jordieโ€™s death, and waking up on the barge. he had to swim to shore, age nine and barely alive, using jordieโ€™s body as a float
- the darkling has done far worse things than are shown on screen. he is not a โ€˜lost manโ€™ and alina is not his โ€˜balanceโ€™

My thoughts here mainly revolve around YSA as the mary sue/female lead type character:
She goes from being this perfect woman to. just being a woman. And my idea is that the weight gain isn't there to make her "unconventionally attractive," or whatever other dumb phrase you wanna use to avoid calling someone ugly, but to make her conventionally attractive, yet realistic.
Instead of looking like a skinny waifu character, she looks like a skinny human woman. Her hair swaying in the nonexistent wind isn't as perfect, her magic blush is missing and she has eyebags. She's still hot, just more human.
#and if you look at it then the left ysa looks a lot more like her doesnt she?#congratulations if youre the exception but most folk seeing this would prefer the left#or at least feel like the left resembles ysa more#and im not saying this judgementally. 1) i draw tons of women like this and 2) they're drawings and not real life humans#(theres a time and place to discuss representation of body diversity etc but this post isn't about that rn.#its an important discussion that deserves respect and its own space. this is a 5am ramble)#anyways. ysa strays from the ideal woman. she grows to be more human in her behavior and depiction and everything#and it would be quite fun to reflect that in the way she's drawn#orv#omniscient reader's viewpoint#yoo sangah#my doodles#orv meta#i guess?

I find that the recent rise of black and white thinking on the internet has led to an interesting phenomenon in F1 fandom spaces.
Nowadays a famous person needs to unsullied in all respects (morally, ethically, performatively) in order to be deemed unproblematic and worthy of support. Itโ€™s become impossible to be a fan of a driver and to recognise faults them in any way, because surely if youโ€™re a fan of a driver and they mess up, then their mess up taints you in the same way it taints them (morally, ethically, performatively).
Putting driversโ€™ ethical โ€œbad takesโ€ aside, this has impacted even how fans respond to their driver simply having a bad weekend. Itโ€™s odd when a driver makes a human error or has a (even slightly) less successful weekend, and a significant proportion of their fans go into a panic and start finger pointing at anyone and everyone - the track, the team, the teammate, the stewards.
The false dichotomy here seems to be that either the driver has โ€œlost his touchโ€ or the driver was unfairly sabotaged or disadvantaged in some way.
Itโ€™s so strange. In the guise of supporting their favourite driver, these fans hold them up to an impossible standard where they are either bullied or washed.
In reality, their favourite driver is a human being and heโ€™s going to pick himself up and go again next week.
#this is not only about a section of Charles fans but in fact a section of many drivers fans#itโ€™s a really toxic trend arising in f1 fandom spaces#can you imagine for a second being a f1 driver and reading comments telling you that you must have been sabotaged by your team#because no way youโ€™d have driven so badly on your own merit?#how demoralising and painful would it be to read that#everyone canโ€™t be at 100% all the time and holding drivers to that standard and accusing others to โ€˜defendโ€™ them is so counterproductive#f1#mexican gp 2024
