Riz is the king of biggest greenest eyes ever that he uses for evil so much especially when he wants coffee and/or to stay up later the only person who can resist it reliably is Sklonda (can’t outdo the doer)

My favorite thing about the Fantasy High fandom is that we have all kinda expected that the Bad Kids do NOT know where any of their stuff is.
Like Jawbone will walk into Kristen's bedroom and see a white button up. And that's all fine and good, Kristen has some, until you pick it up and see that it is WAY too small for her. And then you see a hoodie that is way too big with oil stains and wonder how long these have been in there without anyone realizing that they aren't her's?
Or you will go into Fabian's bedroom and see that he has a board on his wall straight out of murder mystery with books on religion and prophecies all over the floor. Someone wanted to ask questions but that he picks one of the books up and puts it in his bag and acts like nothing's wrong.
Or Gorgue will be going through his bag and takes out a calligraphy pen, a container of bullets, and anti anxiety meds. It took everyone in class a minute to remember that he doesn't use a gun, they still don't know what the others are his or not
Or Riz will be going through his briefcase and pulls out several stacks of paperwork. Someone in his rogue class went through it and soon realize that a lot of it is not his handwriting. Some of it is half done lyrics in fast writing, some of it is blueprints in what you think is Gnomish but can't quite tell because it is sloppy, some of it is beautiful Elfish and wizard schoolwork.
Or Adaine will just, pull out car keys, look at them, and put them back in her pocket and pull out the thing she needs. People still don't know if she drives a car or not and there is an ongoing bet or what car she drives.
Or Fig will walk around school with a jacket on, sometimes it will be her leather jacket, sometimes it will be a different one. Sometimes it would be denim or a varsity jacket, sometimes it will be a gray hoodie that doesn't fit well or a yellow one.
The only thing the school knows is that they don't know who owns what and at this point neither do the Bad Kids.

i need to talk about the bad kids and the weight they carry from their parents. because all of them have baggage, whether they know it or not, and it's high time we had a conversation about it.
we all know kristen and adaine's parents fucked them up, but the truth, and maybe this is an immutable truth about the world and all worlds in general, is that every kid bears the weight of their parents' expectations on their shoulders. sometimes the burden is well-disguised; sometimes the pressure is mitigated by a loving relationship — but there's always baggage, and the bad kids are all so used to dragging it along that they don't even realize they're carrying it.
fabian's is easy to recognize. not a day goes by that fabian doesn't think of his father. of what his dad, his treasured papa, not only wanted but expected of him. fabian grew up under the pressure to write your name on the face of the world, to become not just good but Great, to be more than a man — to become a legend, maximum legend, to get it tattooed onto your neck so you never forget your goal, because this is the only way to make your father proud and maybe if you're just like him then your mother will decide to be your mother again. she promised to be better and then she abandoned you. she failed you completely in every way imaginable and her solution was to try again. maybe this child will grow up with a loving mother. maybe she'll get it right this time. but not fabian. fabian doesn't get love, he gets pride, and there's only one way to ensure that his parents are proud.
fig is staggering under the immutable knowledge that she was the catalyst to her parents' divorce. that all of this could have been avoided if she had just never been born. she has so much anger, and it started out directed towards sandra lynn, but now she knows it's anger towards herself, for daring to exist, for ruining a marriage and a life by the crime of being born. poor gilear, saddled with the knowledge that his only daughter isn't even his. and yeah, her mom is a fuckup, but at least that's because of choices she made. fig would have to be in control of her actions to be a fuckup - instead she keeps BEING controlled, from the Dominate Person that led her to nearly sacrifice riz down to the very simple act of being the unplanned child of an affair. she's worse than a fuckup: she's a curse. a plague. and all three of her parents would have been better off if she'd never existed.
wilma and digby thistlespring tried so hard to raise a happy kid. they didn't believe in the stereotypes about half-orcs. not our kid, they said. how could a child of ours be angry? but gorgug is so angry sometimes, and he barely has the language to explain that, much less the skills to manage those emotions. he was so loved, so doted upon, and he tried his best to be the gentle giant, but somewhere along the way he failed, and his parents had no plan for a system malfunction. why would they? wilma and digby never met a bad feeling they couldn't sing their way out of. gorgug could be like that, too, if he tried. if he put his mind to it. it's his fault that he can't keep his rage under wraps. and his parents love him, but they don't understand him, and that hurts them. gorgug is hurting them. the very nature of his being hurts them. he tries to mold himself into the shape of a perfect son, but like everything else in his life, it doesn't fit - he can't give them what they want; he can't become what they devoted all this time to nurturing. he is big and brash and bubbling over with rage sometimes, despite all of his parents' best efforts to teach him temperance and good-naturedness and how to be small, smaller than your body can be, how to tuck in your limbs and take shallow breaths so your bed doesn't break again (again, again, again) and he tries and he tries. it's never enough. he will never be the perfect son, so maybe there's no point in trying at all.
and riz. sklonda. look, how could he not be just like his dad? dad was a badass secret agent, the kind of person riz could only dream of being. he doesn't want to scare mom, but why shouldn't he want to be like dad? except sklonda is scared. she raised him, terrified of what would happen when he learned the truth. his rock, his confidant, his second-best friend (let's be honest, maybe first) — he can't worry her. she has enough on her plate; he can't be a problem for mom. so riz gets really good at taking care of himself. when she can't make it home for dinner, riz knows how many minutes the freezer dinner needs in the microwave. when she can't pick him up from school, riz knows where the nearest bus stop is. and he can't stop solving mysteries, but he can reassure her that he's safe, whether or not it's true — because she needs him to be safe, and riz can't be a problem. he has to be fine. he makes a living being fine. sure, he's in jail for months for a crime he didn't commit, but he's fine. he got kidnapped and almost ritually sacrificed, but he's fine now, mom. i saw dad and he was tortured within an inch of his celestial life and i was almost killed in Hell, but it's fine, mom, because dad is an angel, how cool is that? the important thing is that sklonda can always count on her boy. she can trust him to understand adult things, like the fact that they're poor, and that her demotion might spell bad things for riz's future, and his only shot now is to have a really beefed up transcript so he can maybe get good scholarships, and yeah, that's a lot — god, that's a lot, on top of the harrowing mystery unfolding this year — but. riz is fine.
there's a freedom in hating your parents, in knowing unequivocally that they were bad at being parents, perhaps bad at being people at all. everyone agrees that the abernants were vile, disgusting examples of people at all, much less parental figures. nobody is leaping to the applebees' defense. they failed their children, and their children owe them nothing.
but fabian, fig, gorgug, riz — it's harder when you love the people who raised you. it gets to feeling like the problem is you. like if you were different, if you were better, if you tried a little harder or did something a little differently, then things would be perfect, and that weight you stagger under would go away. if fabian weren't so sentimental. if fig weren't a tiefling. if gorgug weren't so angry. if riz weren't so reckless. you love your parents, and you owe them everything, and this is the least you could do. so why aren't you doing it? why can't you? why are you carrying this weight in the first place?
these four have parents who love them. but that doesn't mean their parents can't also have hurt them. it's inevitable; you grow past the expectations of your parents, and then into something new, something entirely your own, but the bad kids are still growing. they are loved. but they are burdened. both things can be true.

fantasy high pcs ranked by how willing i would be to get in a car with them in the driver's seat
gorgug. the canon designated driver. his van is a boat and his boat is a van. no issues here
riz. also has canonically driven and done it well. good reflexes and sufficiently paranoid. i trust him
adaine. she'd figure it out and drive carefully enough. once again no issues here
INSERT INCREDIBLY LARGE GAP HERE
kristen applebees. drives wearing flip flops. would smash the entire front of the car just trying to get out of the driveway. accidentally hits the accelerator when she means to hit the brakes. i'm 100% going to die
fabian. he cannot drive and has zero road sense. the hangman does it all for him. he's below kristen because if we get into a terrible accident kristen can revivify me. fabian would backflip out of the car as it's crashing and leave me for dead
fig. FLIPPED A CAR. i mean she's 100% a better driver than both kristen and fabian but i wouldn't be able to get over the fact that she FLIPPED A CAR ON THE HIGHWAY

was talking last night with @actual-sleeping-beauty about my headcanon for tiefling culture about how it's very common to decorate your horns with jewelry, especially gifts from friends and family. and I do think Fig would be like one of those people that wears ten million homemade bracelets but like. for her horns. explanation of the specific horn bracelets she has under the cut
Gorthalax: he's actually the first person to gift Fig a horn bracelet, because he's the one who knows about the tradition. he gifts her what is actually an old horn bracelet of his that doesn't fit anymore, as part of a sentimental family kind of thing. it's very traditional hell, heat-proof gold and rubies and its one of her fancier ones
Kristen: she's the second to get in on this, in the more traditional sense, because best believe that Kristen Applebees knows how to make friendship bracelets. she's made so many. she makes the first one for fig in freshman year and makes it very bright oranges and reds to be supportive of her rocker friend. (she also makes some veryyy corn yellow ones, because it's the type of string she has the most of)
Riz: he's next on the friendship bracelet train because Penny taught him how to make every kind of complicated friendship bracelet pattern under the sun. he is scarily good at it. (rogue dexterity makes for absurd textile skills apparently.) he gifts Fig like twenty different super complicated patterned ones and she adores them all, but this one is the one she uses the most
Adaine: she makes a more subdued, woven bracelet after Riz and Kristen show her how in their attempts to Give Adaine Childhood Experiences. nevermind that Riz and Kristen are not exactly experts on this. Adaine is not naturally gifted at this so she makes a bunch of fucked-up bracelets that she's very embarrassed of but fig is like "NO I LOVE THEM YOU CAN'T THROW THEM AWAY." she uses the later, more refined bracelets more but she stubbornly keeps all of Adaine's bracelets, even the ugly ones. you can pry them out of her cold dead hands
Gorgug: enlists his parents to help embed some fake pearls into a little nickel backing and make it heat resistant, to make her a nice little pearly one for her birthday. he's so so nervous about it because it's a little more formal but when fig opens the gift she loves it so much she cries. her name is engraved along the inside with a little flower
Fabian: my boy uses his proficiency in glass blowing to make some beautiful little glass beads and string them up on a chain to make her most rattly horn bracelet. she adores it and plays with it all the time. it's like a fidget toy for her. he also used fancy, super expensive enchanted glass to enchant it to so that it can never fall off her horn on accident, which she also loves
Sandra Lynn (and Gilear): this is a moonar yulenear gift that fig gets in freshman year, after the other bad kids have started gifting fig bracelets, and Sandra Lynn is trying to show more support for fig, albeit stumblingly. she gets her a very nice matching set of horn bracelets with a chain between, and kind of tacks Gilear's name onto the gift. freshman year fig is So Mad still that she doesn't wear it until after Family in Flames, but she does break it out for the Prompocalypse, and after that it's a semi-permanent jewelry piece for her

To anyone who’s finding it really hard to read the Fantasy High webtoon without being upset about the changes made, here’s a headcanon that has helped me accept the changes and I think could really help a lot of you:
(Keep in mind I’ve only read the first three chapters)
In the canon universe, the webtoon is a comic series that the Bad Kids decide to make sometime post-canon to recount their adventures in a fun and somewhat fictionalized way. (Think of it like mythology, changing their stories to become more linear and easier to tell across generations.)
This would explain a lot of the changes made that I’ve seen upsetting people:
D&D (and real life) is great because even though plot is important, it’s just enough to leave a lot of room for a bunch of different main characters to share the spotlight. Comics aren’t (especially webtoon comics that you only read a bit at a time), so even though all of the characters can have their moments, there has to be one character that is focused on more to really drive the plot.
The Bad Kids recognize this, and since they refuse to use a different medium (a movie is a lot of work for six kids; they already have a podcast; longer, non-illustrated books would be bad for Ragh and frankly, not nearly as cool), they all eventually come to a consensus that at least for freshman year, their little angel and licensed PI Riz Gukgak should be the lead, since he can justifiably drive the plot. In real life, it doesn’t make sense to have one lead since none of them knew about the big scheme to begin with, but in retrospect it works.
Of course, Fabian’s not gonna be as charming to start out because he recognizes that he was kind of a jerk for a bit before joining the squad and especially before single-handedly killing toxic masculinity.
Of course, Fig is gonna be the last Bad Kids introduced because that’s how she’d want it to go. It’s so much more badass to be mysterious for a few chapters and then show up in a blaze of glory!!
Of course, Riz is gonna look ever so slightly cooler than he actually was as a freshman, because that’s how he viewed himself and the others don’t have the heart to tell him “no you were actually really awkward and un-cool and you have to look that way for the comic”
Of course, Adaine isn’t going to emphasize her argument with her parents from the first day of school, because why would she? Her parents suck, and the less screen time they get, the less power they have over her life now. Aelwyn too, as much as she loves her sister, she wasn’t really part of the grand scheme, so it wouldn’t make sense to establish her as a villain immediately.
Of course, Gorgug is going to make his introduction of him raging. His difficulty coping with his rage was a really big part of his journey throughout freshman year. His title card is who he really is though, with cool artificer themes, even though he doesn’t know it yet.
And of course, Kristen is gonna wear a corn-themed outfit because that’s a visual representation of how she felt early on the year, and especially how brainwashed she was by the church. You’re telling me Kristen Chilis Applebees isn’t going to look at a comic book version of herself in freshman year, think about all the time she spent justifying Coach Daybreak’s actions and her parents actions and her actions, and how deeply that trauma goes for her and her siblings, and how much her story would mean to someone going through the same thing as her, and say “now dress her up like corn”????
Point is, the webtoon is an adaptation of a pre-existing world in the same way any “non-fiction” media is an adaptation of the real world. Real life isn’t linear, D&D isn’t linear, but written media (especially webtoon comics) are. It’s not gonna be a perfect replica of the original because that doesn’t make for a good comic. If it helps to view the webtoon as an in-canon adaptation of their story written by the Bad Kids, then that’s great! If it doesn’t, and you still can’t enjoy the comic, then don’t read it.
Just don’t take this gift from Dropout away from those of us who love (or want to love) it. And especially don’t hate on the writers, artists, or anyone in Dimension 20 for making minor changes in order to fit the new media.
(It’d be like hating on the Bad Kids for telling their story in a new way.)

Thinking about the bad kids in a more classic adventuring party context. The only time we really see the them out adventuring for a prolonged amount of time and camping and stuff is sophomore year, but I'd assume they get other slightly less fate of the world deciding assignments like that? Also they're probably out camping with the hangvan during the night yorb stuff.
If they have to camp somewhere potentially dangerous (which is. Anywhere you'd have to camp at.) obviously Adaine keeps watch at night because she only has to trance for four hours. Elf takes the night watch this is like adventuring 101. But Riz for sure does the other half so she can really rest during her trance. Should Riz sleep more than four hours? For sure. Does he? No. His body is so used to it that four hours is a perfectly functional long rest. Only slightly concerning. I think it always goes Riz stays up super late (and is maybe working out clues and stuff while the others are resting and he's keeping watch) and then Adaine gets her four hours in and "gets up" early. Riz is Riz so he only sleeps next to or on her so that if something is wrong he gets woken up as quickly as possible.
Also they all sleep with their weapons/spell casting focuses close by. (Riz and Adaine do this at home too which is slightly overkill but Adaine does have every anxiety disorder and Riz probably. Either has anxiety or ocd or both so that's. Fair.) Kristen fully hugs her staff (and the teddy!) in her sleep. The heavy metal axe or the infaethable bass are clunky and big but Gorgug and Fig at least sleep as close to them as possible. Could reach over and grab them type deal. Adaine just keeps the sword of sight on her since she can trance sitting so it's not a bother or anything. The sword of shadows DOES bother Riz sleeping but he still keeps it on him. His arquebus is directly under whatever padding he's using to sleep so it's hidden and he can pull it out. Fabian obviously keeps Fandrangor close by but he fully never stops physically touching his battle sheet. Mechanically I'm pretty sure it acts as both his spell casting focus and the shield for his protection fighting style so I like to think he drapes it over whatever friend is closest to him along with himself. Keeping his friends safe :) (also warm. I think it's always warm even though it's thin because of the fire elemental)
Oh also also. The Hangman. In motor cycle form it's pretty straight forward but if he's in hellhound form because they're traversing a forest or something and being a motorcycle is just. So inconvenient. (Which also means they couldn't have possibly travelled with or slept in the hangvan) He curls up around Fabian (and again whoever is closest) because big dog protect. Also sometimes his snout is in Fabian's lap because I'm obsessed with him just being a big dog okay. He's so cute.
Actually it makes a lot of sense to me if either Gorgug or Fabian is sleeping close to whoever is keeping watch because they're obviously the more tanky party members and the ones keeping watch are the wizard and the rogue. Also they're both on the outside (with, if possible the hangvan and also the hangman covering them on either side if that makes sense?) while their full casters and rogue are in the middle. I know Fig has Paladin levels and good AC post junior year (and would probably still like to adventure with them even without being a student) but she still operates on bard hit points and also old habits die hard so she's gotta be in the protection cluster. Also she likes cuddling with her friends let her cuddle with her friends in the cluster.
(Side Note. At lower levels being the damage sponge is absolutely a barbarian's job but at higher levels where a lot of enemies do the types of damage non bear totem barbarians don't halve they get slightly less effective at it ((though they still have much more hit points than any of their other party members so they're certainly still good at it)) and are often the most effective just for damage output. So as they get older I'd almost say Fabian has more comfortably slotted himself into the protector role ((will never get over his goading attack defensive flourish thing it's so. Nice from a character standpoint. Doesn't try to be his father anymore but he feels strong and right when protecting his friends, still so eccentric.)) while Gorgug is the more forward aggressor? ((Especially with his smites or when he's hasted!! Which is also so cool from a character standpoint. Settled into artificing and more in touch with his own rage.)) But hey still both front liners and mostly interchangeable in that regard. Both WILL be Adaine's meat shield if she needs it.) But yeah just decided that Fabian sleeps closer to Adaine and Riz while Kristen and Fig are halfway on top of Gorgug. They're all in a cluster anyway but. Yeah.
Also I just like thinking about how to a certain extend characters of Spyre are aware of game mechanics. Like Brennan said they're actually studying how to be their individual classes. They probably don't "roll" in their heads or think of their stats as numbers or anything but good strategising like they did in the last stand or the battle with Porter and the Rat grinders is in universe the characters applying knowledge that they've partially acquired through experience but also just. Literally go to school for. They go to school for adventuring. I imagine nerds like Riz or Fabian who's a battlemaster are especially aware of party composition, positioning in battle etc but like all of them have to be. So yeah that's cool. Spellcasters probably get told specific conditions for common problems like counterspell even if they can't learn it so they can stay out of range of it, stuff like that.

While I think Sklonda is right to be critical of the Bad Kids and specifically Kristen, I think that a lot of the reason she did so is that she was missing a lot of context the other parents were given. We see in Freshman Year that she’s often given the information about their quests from Riz, several hours after the fact, and he shares clues with her rather than personal things. He doesn’t think the personal bits are what she cares about because, for him, that’s not the problem being solved. He’s happy with his friends and she only really would hear if one of them caused a problem. Her apartment isn’t a hangout like Seacaster Manor, Mordred Manor, the Thistlespring Tree, or even Gilear’s season one apartment were. By the nature of her being a single working mother in a difficult financial situation, she often was left out of extracurricular activities.
For example, Mordred is obviously a place filled with a lot of activity, and plenty of kids to give updates on said activity if something slips through the cracks of someone’s retelling. If Adaine leaves out a personal moment because she’s focused on the case, Fig or Kristen or even Ragh could fill in that blank, plus the fact that the other BKs spend a lot of time there means that Sandralynn, Jawbone, and Lydia are usually getting every side of every story. The Thistlespring Tree is where the Bad Kids go not just because it’s a nice place to spend time, but because it’s often directly tied into a plot or subplot! The power source in season one, the satellite in season two, and Gorgug’s artificer journey + the whole Frosty Faire thing going on now! Besides that, the Thistlesprings have raised Gorgug in a way that encourages open channels of communication about his emotions above all else, so he tells them what’s going on! Fabian’s parents over at Seacaster Manor haven’t been involved so much this season, but Bill Seacaster saw their bond from the start and taught them how to take care of each other and fight as a group, and Gilear has always been heavily involved in their adventures because all of the BKs have been emotionally invested in him as well!
Aside from that, she’s missing the context of actually being able to attend their quests like some other parents/guardians were able to in Sophomore Year! Gilear and Cathilda and Sandralynn all know things like the fact that everyone was worried about Riz and called him their little angel when he was gone and that Kristen saved him almost at the expense of her own life in the Nightmare King’s forest. She never sees them together, the way they’ll risk everything for each other when the chips are down, the way they all show they care in little ways all the time ( like Fig giving him the card or Fabian’s gifts in Freshman Year). She doesn’t understand that while “the Ball” may have come from a bully on the first day of school, it turned into a term of endearment! She doesn’t see how hard they’ve been trying this year to pass their classes and such, not because it matters to them, but because they know it’s important to Riz. He never even explained the whole needing scholarships thing to them! He showed up with folders on the first day, stressed out of his mind about all of them passing together, and basically decided to get their shit together! Sure, it took Kristen and Fig a little while to do it, but that’s because they were struggling to build better habits!
I also understand how she could think Riz does all of the heavy lifting: when he presents the clues to her and he’s their lead investigator, do you think she assumed other people did the finding? Absolutely not! She doesn’t see the way they put things together by focusing on their individual strengths; she only sees Riz trying to put it all together and find the connections. Why would she know that a lot of the investigative work was done by Adaine and Kristen in sophomore year because so much of it had to do with religion? She wouldn’t!
All this to say: Sklonda is a good mom for checking in with Riz, but she also has a narrow view of things that no one else has. If she were to be exposed to the BKs more often and actually pay attention to how things work between them, I think she would be much more understanding.

For senior year I think the bad kids would be insanely over powered (high level dnd is nutty) so here are some fun ideas to spice up encounters in a zany sit-com sort of way. This is a long post btw.
1. Physical regression fight
The bad kids are reverted to their freshman bodies and have to fight as their original level one forms.
I’d imagine it as a Last Standard Exam style onslaught. They start as their level one characters and after each semi-quick wave they regrow a little bit, regaining a few levels, until they finally re-reach their present body. Also funny if they have to go through their bodies most awkward puberty stages again.
2. Freaky Friday
The bad kids all swap bodies. All of the players swap character sheets and have to play their character but using the stats/classes entirely of another character. Extra fun if they can’t meta-game by reminding each other of certain abilities or actions they can do irl, as to hammer in how inproficient they are at being one another.
3. Dance Fight
Similar to the Broadway fight from unsleeping city. All the bad kids have to fight in the middle of some major performance/dance act. Maybe it happens during some sort of audition or performance Fabian is doing.
They all have to navigate doing very high level performance and acrobatic checks which means balance actions and recourses have to be spent on both making sure everyone is good at performing and also on fighting well.
4. Doppelgängers
The bad kids fight themselves. Exact same levels, exact same stats.
Extra points if they don’t know which ones are the real ones, so half of the players are fighting with npc versions of the other half and vice versa. This means they have to also figure out which ones are the fakes mid-fight and some of them were actually playing as their own doppelgänger, semi-similar to the Baron fight in junior year. This also means Brennan would be playing as some doppelgängers but also as some of the actual real characters since those players are unknowingly the doppelgängers.
5. Shipping wars
Some ultra-powerful weirdo god-monster is running a spicy dating game and has kidnapped the bad kids. It is super over the top and annoying and is trying to convince/make the bad kids date eachother and fight eachother as couples. The fight is about tricking the freaky god-monster into thinking they actually have fallen for their assigned partner while pretending to fight the other pairs, with the eventual goal of killing it.
Can’t think of any pairing combo that this wouldn’t be funny with. Adaine and Riz would be bad at acting no matter what, Fig and Fabian would be way to convincing, and Gorgug and Kristen would be super awkward with their partner and also not fully know if Fig and Fabian were actually being serious about their respective partner.
6. Babysitter
Fabian has to spend the entire fight protecting/dealing with new baby sibling. Can hand them off to friends if need be. This includes dealing with a child who has 1 hit point in a high level battle, but also doing stuff like making sure they stay asleep (somehow) or changing a dirty diaper.
7. Freaky Friday 2: Parental Controls
All swapped to their parent’s bodies. Adaine becomes Jawbone, Fig becomes Sandra Lynn, Gorgug becomes one of the thistlesprings, Riz becomes Sklonda, Kristen becomes Lydia Barkrock (her secret mother figure), and Fabian becomes Hallaarial (or funnier option, Gilear).
This is funny to me because whatever spell or curse did this considers adoptive/non-genetic parental figures over biological/legal Gaurdians. Also this is extra funny if they have to team up with their parent who has swapped with them. So Adaine has to deal with Jawbone being in her body, Fig with Sandra Lyn being in hers, Gorgug with one of the thistlesprings, etc.
Also funny if other npcs show up (Ayda became Arthur Aguefort, Bucky Applebees as either Mac or Donna, etc).
Would love to see all of these honestly, would love to hear other dumb silly fighting bits y’all would want to see.

they tried to rebrand as The Criminals but riz is literally the city council's treasurer and also turns out people in their late 20s don't really name their friend groups. so now they're The Intrepid Heroes
#fantasy high#figueroth faeth#kristen applebees#adaine abernant#gorgug thistlespring#fabian seacaster#riz gukgak#yes this is sorta from the same thing Ive been doing for future!riz lol. that riz is the same design basically#just the above board sona#u can kiiinda tell which of the bad kids I have a very clear vision for their future design and which I kinda wing it for lol#kristen's tank top is white and the coat is galaxy tie dye btw. I didnt have the energy to express that in ink but thats the ult version#adaine I truly imagine to grow up to be the perpetual t shirt and jeans person but she carries her sword everywhere#gorgugs truth is that shes just hot she can wear anything. but I do give him the skirt hike bc I love him#I really like skirt hike... such a fun thing to put in designs. if ur garment has no variance in how it falls or drapes u can do it urself#this is also a little bit of an exercise in how much of an accessory I can freehand from memory#fig's bass I straight up did not fact check for. just rawdogging it memory only. same with fandrangor and adaine's crocs#I did write in my funny little document that gorgug takes up baking and is good at it bc I think itd be good for him#to do basically chemistry and math that also feeds people#out of them... kristen and riz would be Good good at it. but riz would get way too stressed abt the recipe and kristen bakes by#eyeballing the texture. fabian likes decorating but refuses to get anywhere near the heat of an oven. adaine isnt good at it first try#and is like well my effort goes to other things actually. fig Loves baking and Nobody lets her into the kitchen#idk why this manifests so clear in my head. must be bc of recent foccacia events#living in the subtropics is hell for baking nobody try it ok? I tell u

So, now that the Fantasy High webtoon is out (and I'm really enjoying it so far!), I've found it incredibly interesting that Riz, while not being the "main character" per se (it's a D&D-related thing, no such thing), is the character whose eyes we see the story from, for the most part---which makes a lot of sense. After all, he's the plothound, the one who was invested in the mystery since the very beginning. Hell, the main villain killed his dad! (And I'm sure that if this goes onto include Sophomore and Junior year, Kristen's POV will be heavily featured in SY while Fig's will be heavily featured in JY.)
With that in mind, I've decided to try and figure out which characters the other Intrepid Heroes seasons would have a focal POV if their seasons got turned into a comic, so here goes:
Unsleeping City: The obvious answer here is, of course, Pete Conlan the Plug---he's the newly-minted Vox Phantasma, he knows negative zero about the Unsleeping City, he's the perfect choice. However, it would be incredibly interesting if the main POV flipped around between the two Voxes, maybe even with the city being drawn slightly different when it's Kingston's POV as compared to Pete's POV... Idk, I'm just spitballing here. (Season 2 gets told through Iga and Sofia's perspectives or I riot)
A Crown of Candy: This is the one season I haven't watched (because I know how sad this season is, I know who dies in it, I watch Dimension 20 to take my mind off of the heartbreak of the other media I consume), but from what I've heard, I think... Amethar, probably? He's the king, he's the Unfallen---I'm not an authority on this. If you've got an argument for Liam, or Ruby, or Theo, I'd love to hear it.
A Starstruck Odyssey: Oh, it's gotta be Margaret. I know that the whole series really kicks off with Skip brain-slugging Norm, but if it weren't for her quarter-life crisis, I don't think the story would've gone the way it did. Plus, the story being told through the eyes of the only "straight man" (said ironically, as Margaret is neither straight nor a man) would really put the insanity of Starstruck into perspective. Also, just---how amazing would it be if ASO got turned into a comic? Full circle, baby!
Neverafter: This one, I'm actually stumped on. My first instinct is Timothy, but I do hesitate to name another Ally PC (even if they're very good at making characters who see the world from a very unique perspective). Honestly, all of them would be great viewpoint characters, so it's hard for me to pin it down---though, to be fair, Pinnochio and Ylfa are probably the best POVs to tell a fairy-tale story through, as they are the traumatized kids.

Full of idears lately.
Thinking about Ragh and how he's kinda a celebrity athlete. Like he's good at blood rush. Like he's one of the best and he's punished for that. Just being good at the sport and working his ass off to continue being good at it.
Cue some bullshit where people wanna get him canceled and being up his bully past. Maybe they pull this bullshit out after Ragh was a part of some program advocating against bullying so it just makes him look like a real douche bag and his public perception is kinda terrible.
Maybe someone had a video saved of their phone when he threw Riz in the trash and it's a whole thing.
The bad kids are being relentless hounded by reporters and even his mom too but the reporters kinda immediately blame her and attack her for her son's terrible behavior and it's just so much. She hardly leaves the house because they just swarm her and she doesn't wanna deck some idiot because they might take that and use it against her son.
It's relentless. Despite Jawbone and Sandra Lynn's best efforts someone is always on their fucking lawn with a camera.
Fig tries to answer some questions but gets mad and decks a reporter. A couple times with her base guitar. Woops.
Gorgug is also hounded and so are his parents who are flooded to learn how bad the bullying actually was. He has to tell them it's bullshit and the reporters are being stupid. Okay maybe some of it was really bad but it was in the past and Ragh is such a different person now. He's fine..they've partyed together. Digby says some stuff about "well son, if I had known I'd have had.. some strong words for the buckaroo"
It's a whole thing. The bad kids are constantly bothered by the reporters and the surprise camera shots because no one will actually talk to them ( for fear of making Ragh look bad and potentially kill his career) so they won't leave. It's relentless.
Adine has a couple really bad panic attacks and starts doing some temporary online classes to stay out of the public eye. Probably spends some time in leviathan with Ayda who tries to make it seem like a vacation but the pirates are kinda still... Pirates and Ayda feels bad but Adine is like... Actually I think it would be really fun to hunt down thieving pirates with my best friend right now. And they absolutely kick the shit out of pirates. Maybe Adine gets a killer essay out of it for like extra credit or whatever. Bottom line it's fun as hell.
Gilear is bothered. He was the lunch lad and then the vice principal so he surely must have had an idea. The media is like why didn't you stop him? And Gilear does something in Gilear fashion and the media people's no longer want to engage with the sad wet cat of a person.
Anyway the bad kids that are still +in+ Elmvile have 0 media training. Sklonda does. Mind you it wasn't something she wanted or ever thought she would need but the press used to breathe down her throat over stupid shit constantly. She knows a thing or two. Like if you swear and hold your middle finger up to your face there's a pretty good likelihood they can't use those pictures on daytime television because of the profanity. She does her best to instruct them.
Kristen is hardly bothered because she's quirky like that and a chaos agent so she says the wildest unrelated shit. Tracker only ever sings Raghs praises so she doesn't actually get aired on TV. Just a picture of her face and a statement, at best.
Riz however is quietly stewing. They keep going after the people he loves and Adine had to leave town because shits so bad and Ragh has just fucking disappeared off the face of the earth. Why is this happening? Is it really a big fucking deal. Is this scoop of the century? He's got a plan. He's got a collection of HIS personal pictures and (fantasy) tik toks and just a fuck ton of edited pictures where his friends are scribbled out or removed entirely because the media has seen enough of them. He has so much he'd like to say. Briefly he talks to Sklonda who gives him pointers and advice and really hammers it in that he can't get mad if he's gonna take the media head on. He's got the truth on his side and he knows he can't lose. Plus a little black mail if they don't back the fuck down later.
Lola Embers if anything is a savvy business woman if anything and is absolutely chomping at the bit when Fig puts her and Riz in contact. All she really has to do is get Riz on (fantasy) good morning Spyre or whatever big televised morning program everyone can lose their shit over while stuffing their face with breakfast. Basically it's a big fucking televised interview. Everyone and their momma is watching. Kristen is also there but mainly to cast calm emotions and Fig is there too giving him a couple bardics. They are so great. He loves them. He loves them all so much and really needs to make this bullshit go away as fast as possible so everyone can comfortably exist at home again and he knows they're safe and unbothered.
Riz steps out on set dresses in a professional but sleek black suit ready for one hell of an interrogation. He speaks to media itself occasionally looking at the camera and casually calls out the breaking and entering and trespassing on private property that so many reporters have recently done to get to his friends. Probably name drops a couple. There's a big portion where he deadass stares down the camera itself and talks about how nice it must be for them to have a villain. They could easily milk this bullshit for what the next six weeks? Everyone loves knocking the bad guy down.
There's pictures of the shrimp parties. They go over the video footage of Ragh bullying him. Of course it makes Riz uncomfortable and he admits that. Dead fucking stare. "What makes me most uncomfortable about this is that I didn't consent to this being recorded or redistributed. That wasn't in any of the files I sent to you guys. Interesting. Did Ragh send this in? If he didn't then neither party consented to having this displayed and that is what bothers me the most." You can hear a fucking pin drop.
The interviewer is sweating. You can hear a goddamn pin drop.
Riz is not done yet. He doesn't lie or paint on layers to this. He tells nothing but the truth and it strikes true.
"Yeah. He was a bully. Everyone remembers that. I know that. But you and the rest of the world seem to forget that he was a teenager still figuring his baggage out. You don't know what kind of work he put in to get better and be a better person. I don't really know what it took for Ragh to become the best version of himself either because I wasn't there, I'm not a therapist." Shrug "I don't have to be to know that he's actively a good person now."
The interview finally ends and Riz once he's off stage goes to find a place to puke.
It goes well. Public opinion on Ragh is turned on his head and Riz has now spun this story that Ragh went through a redemption arc. He didn't actually say that but the media is the media and they love Ragh now and it's wild. A complete 180.
Adine stays in leviathan a little big longer than necessary but she's having fun and doing well.
The media is after Ragh but in a more tolerable way than before.
Things go back to normal.
Ragh and Kristen talk and Ragh is like "I can't believe he'd do that for me"
And Kristen is like "I think he'd do that for any of us. He loves with his whole heart. Lucky us right?"

"It's so unfair to the Rat Grinders that they are killed instantly and the Bad Kids get to roll death saves." SHUT UUUUUUUUUUUUP
THIS IS LONG, AND HONESTLY FOR MYSELF, SO YEAH READ IF YOU WANT
I swear to god, this discourse is going to fucking be the end of me. Idk what kind of mind boggling spell Brennan Lee Mulligan wove into the fabric of the universe that spread through the data center of Dropout in order to absolutely hijack y'all's brains when it comes to Cocklord Assgape and her ragtag of character foils but whatever it was has made you Rat Grinder stans INSUFFERABLE in this site.
The levels of treating fictional characters as if they were real people have reached a level I honestly have never anticipated, to the point of y'all actually being mad AT THE CAST for "mistreating" them and ACTUALLY QUESTION BRENNAN'S CAPACITY TO DM. Do you not get how fucking insane that is?
We can't make fun of Copperkettle, one of the most pathetic, petty and incompetent villains in D20 history anymore (even though she is masterfully written and developed to generate this reaction from us) anymore because it's bullying apparently. I saw an account flip the fuck out because someone compared her rivalry with Kristen to Drake and Kendrick's beef. KIPPERLILY IS NOT A REAL GIRL. SHE IS A MAKE BELIEVE CHARACTER IN AN IMPROV SHOW SPAWNED FROM THE BRAIN OF A 36 YEAR OLD MAN
And then what truly pissed me off the MOST about this whole hell is the fact that, being chronically online avid consumers of this goddamn show, I would think you would have but a grasp of the main cast of characters' characterization.
Why the uproar about Riz saying they should chop Oisin's head off? The same Riz who tortured that pixie from Freshman year by shooting off their finger one by one? The same Riz who murked a disarmed and unconscious Coach Daybreak without battin an eye? The same Riz who ATE THE CORPSE OF KALVAXUS?
And the whole Fabian vs Ivy debacle MY GOD, THE GIRL WAS RACIST TO HIS GIRLFRIEND AND USED HER LAST BREATH TO CALL MAZEY "OBJECTIVELY UGLY". And the funniest thing is that is not even the most unhinged shit he has ever said.
And finally, Death Save Gate: THE RAT GRINDERS ARE NOT PLAYER CHARACTERS. THEY ARE NPCS! THE RULES FOR EACH WORK DIFFERENTLY, ESPECIALLY THEM BEING BOSS ENCOUNTERS. Imagine having to still hit Ivy or Oisin 2 more times to kill them when there is 14 foot tall Porter throwing legendary actions left and right, with Jace, and other 3 spell casters + Mary Ann and KLCK up and running. It's called balancing the fucking game. Also, game masters are entitled to break, mold and make up any rules they want if they find necessary in order to service themselves and their players. IF YOU PLAY WITH ALL THESE RULES AS THEY COME, GOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR TABLE. THIS IS NOT YOUR TABLE.
Not only is Brennan DMing for his CLOSEST FRIENDS EVER, he is also shooting and producing an ENTIRE TV SHOW. So yeah, i think he knows wtf he is doing.
"But the Ratgrinders had no real development": True. But it wasn't for lack of trying from the players. Everytime they tried to know more, the dice didn't let them, so they decided to focus on the mystery. It simply do be like that sometimes.
"But they are just kids!": And so were Penelope, Dayne, Ragh, Zayn, the Bloodrush Players, Aelwyn and Biz. Why wasn't it a problem then? Because most of them were evil to some extent and were about to bring the fucking apocalypse to the world? Yeah, sounds familiar right? And the ones who were manipulated or had any sort of redemption worked their way into earning it, right? Yeah.
In conclusion, I fucking love the Rat Grinders, I truly do, and not unlike 90% of this website, i'm still holding on to hope that they have any sort of development and redemption in the last episode, because I agree, they ARE children and they WERE manipulated by Porter and Jace, but like, can we also agree that they are fucking assholes and had it fucking coming? Also, the BKs are children too y'know. SO STOP BEING FUCKING ANNOYING.

So I made a post about Adaine being the principal after killing Arthur Aguefort in a duel. And if that happens I think it would be fun for the bad kids to join her as teachers so here's what I think they teach
Kristen- Cleric teacher obviously. I think she's the most powerful and best cleric in the world, or at the very least Elmville even if she stumbles a lot. I think her background as helioic/solesian, who created her own god and found then revived another gives her a very unique perspective for any young clerics out there. I also think as someone who worships a pantheon it would work like Yolanda giving up her path of following a single god to be more fair to the students she teaches, unlike Bobby Dawn. Kristen has made as many mistakes as you can as a cleric so she would be a very good person to teach kids who might have anxiety about their choices.
Fabian- Bard Teacher, dance and sword. Corsica is a young woman as the fighter teacher so there's no real reason to replace her when the bad kids come of age. Fabian also drifted away from fighter so hard to bard it's clear where his heart is even if he's still an amazing fighter. I think he would be the teacher that brags about being the future and present of dance, along with being the Oracool of Dance to his students. He also has made a lot of steps from his stumbles in his school days and assures his students it's okay to fail, it's okay to wallow but you do have to pick yourself up still. Seacaster manor is still used as a study hall for any students who need it and his is the teacher willing to help any and all students, no matter the class or grade
Gorgug- Barbarian teacher. While I think artificing has his heart more, I could see Gorgug as an amazing Barbarian teacher. His goal is to undo a lot of the toxic aspects of rage and being a barbarian that people like Porter tried to force upon the class and the students taking it. He teaches about the positives of rage, that while it's a strong weapon, it can be an amazing shield to protect people. He is also the main multiclass advisor, he never refuses an MCAT request, he does ask questions but to let students talk about their interests not to make thing think their ideas are stupid or pointless
Riz- Rogue teacher. I think Riz starts to work for the CoC (Council of Chosen) for a bit after graduation, but doesn't like it since it feels more like Narc shit than spy work like his dad did. He's more fair than Yolanda, he is on school grounds more so kids have a chance to find him instead of having to go to a town miles away to find Eugenia. He focuses on the practical application of being a rogue, stressing that it's more than just damage for sneak attack. Being a rogue is about team work to make sneak attack easier, knowing your terrain to making hiding easier and not to jump into lava when you're not fire resistant or immune, investigating things not just focus on killing people
Fig- Sorcery teacher. Obviously she wouldn't be the bard teacher. She didn't go to bard classes as a student, why would she go as a teacher, despite being one of the most famous musicians in Spire. At first it seems like she's just another Jace, you know just hanging with her students instead of really teaching because sorcery is innate. But she's actually very good with them, she actually has experience in knowing what it's like to get powers from your blood instead of hard work. she also encourages her students to try multiclassing since they have time at school, she doesn't want them wasting the time they have when their young. Hackysack is fun, but they should try things when they're young and can get easy A's so try other class.
Adaine- Before she became principal she takes over for Tiberia as the wizarding teacher. she is much kinder and sympathetic than the previous teacher. She also doesn't make her students buy their own spell components and she makes sure that they know that they can explore other disciplines. Everyone thinks she's the sweet gentle wizard teacher until one of her students get bullied and she throws the other kid off them, or a monster attacks the school and she just decks it in the face exploding it's skull from the force of the blow. I also think she recommends that her students get exercise more than any previous wizard teacher. Studying and reading is important, but spells aren't everything, sometimes a healthy lifestyle can save you more than just magic.
