This is my Otherkin Introduction post and will contain all/any info about me as an Otherkin. To learn more, continue reading below!

☽ 彡 Hi! I'm Acchan and I am a Kitsune Otherkin. 彡 ☾

I've been awakened to my otherkin identity for roughly 15 years now. if you count the moment I came to know of 'otherkin'. Before that, I just knew I was different from other people and didn't have a way to explain it.

As for being a kitsune, though, that wasn't always the case. I actually went through years of different identities, none lasting more than a year and always switching/cycling through. There was wolf, mountain lion, bear, otter, lemur, red panda, tiger, leopard, coyote, fox - and quite a few more. I even had shifts/identities were I thought I was a dragon and a fae. Yet, like I said, none of them last and I was confused for a long time. It was when fox kept coming back and sticking, kind of like a base form, that I looked further into the reasonings of why I kept shifting identities/forms. Why I kept so easily being able to feel phantom limbs and mental shifts of other animals/creatures when I wasn't them. Then it hit me - kitsune. Kitsune are shapeshifters and can take the form of pretty much whatever they want or feel the mood to be in. I wasn't entirely sure I was a kitsune, but fox certainly felt like the right start, so I studied myself more. I analyzed a lot of what I did, how my shifts were, jotting down every little detail I could until I had enough put together that I was positive in being a kitsune.

And that's where I'm at today! A proud kitsune living her life day by day.

ꕥ ⌗ Some Cool Facts ⌗ ꕥ

My kitsune identity lines up with the kitsune from Japanese mythology. It is also spiritual, meaning I feel as if I - the soul - reincarnated as a human to just chill and experience what humans experience. In all aspects of this life, I am human, but the real me, the soul driving this body around, is a kitsune.

As a kitsune, I am nogitsune, which just means I don't align with god Inari. Outside of all that, I still experience the typical animal instincts and urges of a normal fox, which is what I like to be known as in terms of simplicity. Just a fox who happens to have some extra tails.

... though I do love a good prank here and there. Hehe.

ꕥ ⌗ Shapeshifting ⌗ ꕥ

As a kitsune, I still experience shifts of animals/creatures. Some of these are involuntary as they switch with my emotions or in certain situations. Yet, my base is always Kitsune and that is my identity.

That said, here are the main forms I tend to shift into: - wolf (usually comes when I'm extremely angry) - leopard (not as common, but comes once in a while) - otter (only appears when I'm swimming or in/around water)

Some other forms that are rare but I still note down are: - red panda, husky, black bear.

I also will experience some extra limbs such as wings, but they are extremely rare for me to feel and only come from external stimuli (usually really windy days or if I'm on top of high spots).

Well, that about covers most of it. I think. I've never really done a 'otherkin' intro before, haha. Anyways, if you read this and got questions, feel free to ask me. Or, if you read this and now wanna be friends, then let's be friends!

This my otherkin sideblog to muse about drakon-ketos things, otherkin metaphysics, academia, otherkinity, spiritual ecology, and many more things. I hope to expand understanding of myself and others, make otherkin friends, and perhaps provide unique insight to the otherkin community.

My kintype is a drakon-ketos, essentially, the ancient Greco-Mediterranean dragon/sea serpent. While certainly a type of dragonkin, my kintype is a bit different and connected to things such as rot and fresh water compared to the usual medieval-styled dragon.

I'm also Cornish, Slovak, and Maya-Mexican; in real life, a viticulturist, winemaker, and med student. If there is anything I can do to help, send me an ask and I'm open to chat!

I genuinely worry about a lot of the new and young otherkin/Alterhuman/Therians I see making intros on here...

For those of you who are introducing yourself to the community, I am so glad you're here!

But! There are some things you should NEVER disclose on the internet regardless of how safe you feel, and i think we need to have a talk, especially with all of the younger people coming into the community.

NEVER disclose your real name on the internet, especially on social media. Yes, it can make it easier to get acquainted with new friends, but it also makes it easy for bad people and creeps to look you up! Go with an alias or nickname (not your real nickname) you like, it's fun, simple and easy!

If you are a minor, I highly discourage disclosing your age. ESPECIALLY the actual number. Things like "minor" or "I am a minor" or "Age: minor" are marginally safer. HOWEVER, lots of times, even this can make you a target for creeps and groomers, and it WILL affect how people treat you on the internet, and usually not in a way you'd like. It may be good for finding people your age, but I believe the benefits do not outweigh the risks. Plus, birthdays are often used for security purposes and can give very important information to creeps and make you EVEN easier to look up just with google.

DO NOT disclose where you live beyond a very general region. I'm talking about your hemisphere or country only.

TLDR; make sure you're not making yourself an easy target for creeps to find you on the internet, any information you give can be used to find you and your physical location. Please stay safe! Protecting the community is what we all do best, but a whole lot of younger people did not grow up with the same guidelines as those of us born in the 90's and 00's.

And if you see someone on Tumblr with these things in their intro or bio, maybe we can talk about alternatives. Of course moderated discord servers can be a whole lot safer, and the general rules may change.

Introduction Post

I thought it was time to write an introduction for once. This might help to find like minded beings who I could talk to once in a while.

My name is Dragana and I'm 28 years old. I'm from Germany and speak German and English. I'm an Eastern dragon. The screenshot above is from the game Draconia which helps me with expression. Also, a small heads-up I like compliments but please don't cutesify me.

My Therianthropy

In 2009 and joined the community. I was looking for reasons for me feeling like I was an animal. I thought I was either mentally ill or an anomaly in some way. I was scared and didn't understand anything. People were doing the side eye and questioned my sanity for behaving like an animal regularly. On the internet, I found the term "otherkin". And quickly, I found a german otherkin group.

This group was one of the "We're the chosen ones! The end of days is near" ones which I thought was the only explanation for my behaviour back then. I played along, though, was sceptical. I gotta say that I've been around the age of 13 and just wanted answers. After a few months, I found to the therian community. The switch went quickly.

Now I'm part of the therianthropy community for 15 years with short and long breaks implemented. I learned so much about myself. I'm not alone, there are many of us. We're a community, non-humans living a new and strange life.

I choose to call myself either a therian or an otherkin. I don't have any preference here because I just am. I'm just an Eastern Dragon on the internet.
