I thought it was time to write an introduction for once. This might help to find like minded beings who I could talk to once in a while.

My name is Dragana and I'm 28 years old. I'm from Germany and speak German and English. I'm an Eastern dragon. The screenshot above is from the game Draconia which helps me with expression. Also, a small heads-up I like compliments but please don't cutesify me.

My Therianthropy

In 2009 and joined the community. I was looking for reasons for me feeling like I was an animal. I thought I was either mentally ill or an anomaly in some way. I was scared and didn't understand anything. People were doing the side eye and questioned my sanity for behaving like an animal regularly. On the internet, I found the term "otherkin". And quickly, I found a german otherkin group.

This group was one of the "We're the chosen ones! The end of days is near" ones which I thought was the only explanation for my behaviour back then. I played along, though, was sceptical. I gotta say that I've been around the age of 13 and just wanted answers. After a few months, I found to the therian community. The switch went quickly.

Now I'm part of the therianthropy community for 15 years with short and long breaks implemented. I learned so much about myself. I'm not alone, there are many of us. We're a community, non-humans living a new and strange life.

I choose to call myself either a therian or an otherkin. I don't have any preference here because I just am. I'm just an Eastern Dragon on the internet.

My Ask box is always open, just be respectful. I also don't have any DNIs in particular. I usually block people who are not supposed to spend time with me or on my profile. So, simply be nice and respectful, don't follow harmful actions and you might be allowed to stay.

My experience

I found out about alterhumanity about 2 years ago and it all kinda started making sense suddenly. You know how it is.

I am still questioning, but i think i am what people may call an onmitherian (in which one identifies as all earthly animals simultaneously, coined by @/angelkids, i believe) or a polymorph (having many forms). Essentially, i am all animals. Still, labelling myself is really difficult for me, so i prefer just calling myself an animal or a therian instead of more specific labels. Maybe that'll change someday.

I've tried settling on maybe several specific kintypes or something, but it wouldn't be fair to myself, as i really feel like i am just an abstract animal and not something specific -- i don't want to limit myself to any amount of kintypes, however big. However, there are some creatures that are really special to me, like horses or big cats (especially cheetahs).

I figured it'd be fun to try and share my experience on here. I don't know yet what i'll be posting, but i'm tired of just lurking in the community and not participating.

For those of you who are introducing yourself to the community, I am so glad you're here!

But! There are some things you should NEVER disclose on the internet regardless of how safe you feel, and i think we need to have a talk, especially with all of the younger people coming into the community.

NEVER disclose your real name on the internet, especially on social media. Yes, it can make it easier to get acquainted with new friends, but it also makes it easy for bad people and creeps to look you up! Go with an alias or nickname (not your real nickname) you like, it's fun, simple and easy!

If you are a minor, I highly discourage disclosing your age. ESPECIALLY the actual number. Things like "minor" or "I am a minor" or "Age: minor" are marginally safer. HOWEVER, lots of times, even this can make you a target for creeps and groomers, and it WILL affect how people treat you on the internet, and usually not in a way you'd like. It may be good for finding people your age, but I believe the benefits do not outweigh the risks. Plus, birthdays are often used for security purposes and can give very important information to creeps and make you EVEN easier to look up just with google.

DO NOT disclose where you live beyond a very general region. I'm talking about your hemisphere or country only.

TLDR; make sure you're not making yourself an easy target for creeps to find you on the internet, any information you give can be used to find you and your physical location. Please stay safe! Protecting the community is what we all do best, but a whole lot of younger people did not grow up with the same guidelines as those of us born in the 90's and 00's.

And if you see someone on Tumblr with these things in their intro or bio, maybe we can talk about alternatives. Of course moderated discord servers can be a whole lot safer, and the general rules may change.

About My Therianthropy:

I identify as a Bombay cat with wings and categorize myself as a psychological vacillant therian and transspecies. I am both human and cat at the same time; the 2 are intertwined. My identity stems from both how I feel and who I am as a living being. I am in a constant mental shift that I interpret as being feline and have many traits that can be seen as feline as well. I do experience species dysphoria when I feel more cat like. I typically have feelings of being in the wrong body and feeling foreign in my own. I veiw myself internally as either a Bombay cat with wings or as my human self but with my wings, tail, and ears.
