A lot of therians talk about how vocalizing in a certain way makes them feel more in tune with their animalistic nature, but personally I feel very comfortable being quiet too. I don’t make sound because most of the time I just don’t need to. I like to only speak when spoken to and I find making too much noise attracts too much unwanted attention. Thinking about it though, I do make this cawing sound when I get startled or bump into something, that I just can’t help lol

Anyone else relate to this?

A few of my kintypes and theriotypes are mainly just because they feel right. Like, I’ve always felt like one in one way or another, even if I don’t have all of the behaviors/instincts. Alterhumanity doesn’t have to nor should be strictly one way. Everyone has their own experiences and identities and that should not be shunned. Whether you identify spiritually, because of delusions, psychologically, voluntarily, involuntarily, or any other way, you are still valid. Don’t forget that.

《 Himalayan Vulture 》

Welp, after about 8 months, the next portrait in my series is complete. I've had the sketch done for I don't know how long, but I only started the lineart this week. With college getting more demanding as I progress, I didn't pressure myself to adhere to a schedule. I know that would only make a chore out of something that I'm supposed to enjoy.

Anyhow, the latest installment in the series is here! I let myself put more detail and effort into the background, purely because I felt like it. It's kind of funny seeing my progression from the first few portraits to now. I see a lot of improvement and an evolution in my personal style. I'm very proud of this one. I hope you enjoy it as well.

I've been thinking about naming this series of portraits. They are a sort of collection, so I think it should have a name. I have a few ideas, but I'll wait until something jumps out at me.

I think was wrong in thinking that I don’t want to eat spoiled carcass. I don’t crave or actually want to eat it in the same way I do fish, but I want to be able to. If I was completely a vulture I would. It’s such an integral part to vultures and I want to eat aged & dried meats to substitute it.

After a very bad mental health day partly worrying again if my nonhuman nature will scare my love off he takes me in his arms and slowly feels the bridge of my nose petting me with a finger,"you're a vulture you're my vulture boy and this is your beak because you're a vulture" the entire day of panic,spiral and racing thoughts not only was I finally calmed I was physically relaxed.

He had no clue I was worried about that and he knew I was in vulture shift from a gif I sent him and the fact he remembers about the shifts I don't even know I was taken aback by the sweetness.

He's right I AM a vulture and this IS my beak.

My point is acceptance is beautiful

there are actually a lot of cultural dishes where bones are involved in cooking, or even eaten! try some out!!

get some chewellery! some alt shops might even have bone shaped ones!

make or commission a therian mask!

practice vocals!

drape a blanket over your shoulders to feel like your wings!

get long nails to feel like talons!

collect clicky or snappy fidgets, to feel like bones!

wear clothes in the colours of your feathers!

collect bones or other things you find in nature (iirc its called "Crowcore" or "vulturecore")!

make/buy bone jewellery!

watch shows/media/documentaries about bearded vultures!
