She came late, but there she is! Second character design for the Whale no-more-an-au (I may have a title but I'm thinking on it). Her official name is Naroa, which in euskara means "Abundant", but also the tranquillity when a wave pulls back after breaking in the shore. Basque, a human disaster but a fairly successful boat raccoon, more infos under the cut! Here's Aisling

Naroa Arranomendi was born in Donostia / San Sebastián in the now Basque autonomous community, in a family that only moved in the traceable memory up to Bilbao, and for never more than a couple of days. Eldest of four daughters, she grew up on dad's fishing boat, more in love with the sea, no matter how hard a work it was, than with anything else on land. Particularly considering that her mother was trying to make a good lady out of her, and she just hated herself with a skirt on, or flowers in her hair. Or with long hair, for what matters.

When her father died, he left behind too many debts to pay, and the natural conclusion for the family was for Naroa to marry rich. After 3 suitors scared away and other 2 whom she punched, she decided that enough was enough.

"Bye mom, I'm going to Rejkjavik! :D" (Donna Arranomendi survived the news. Barely.)

Basques were the first in Europe to hunt whales for a living, and she heard at the harbour, helping out to gather some money, that they pay very well for whalers available to move up there. The only issue was that in Iceland it was technically legal to kill Basque people, ever since 1615. But it's not *that* big of a problem. She could pass as a male, cutting her hair short, she could pass for Rolando Garcia, a Spanish from castillan Spain as well.

It all worked out: she made a living as a sailor first, a harpooner later, sending every spare penny back home to sustain the family and jumping from one ship to the other, never going back.

That is, until the Hvalur met in the night a particularly vicious storm, closed between a pod of sperm whales not particularly happy about being hunted, and a rocky shore. One whale hit the hull, pushing it against some submerged rocks, and the Hvalur did a general reharsal for the Titanic 5 years later.

Naroa was the only survivor.

During the 2024 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, the successor to the Electric Umbrella's Talking Trash Can received a Muppet rebrand. Originally, this talking trash can was located at the Electric Umbrella in Future World. It was removed in 2019 when the building was converted into the Connections Cafe & Eatery, now part of the World Celebration neighborhood. Thankfully, the can returned in 2022, rebranded in blue and relocated to the Odyssey Pavilion as an Epcot World Celebration trash can. It retained its pre-recorded audio track, which plays when the inlet flap is opened. For the Food & Wine Festival, the same updated trash can remains, but with added signage designating it as an "Official Muppet Labs Trash Can," created by "Dr. Bunsen Honeydew PhD. Esq." The can denotes it's exclusively at the "Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey, a Muppet Labs Research Facility." Million Dollar Bacon from First Watch

I need to put together a new summer costume i really wish i had cosplayed todayyyyy but i still had so much fckin fun at AFO with my friend!! I met ProZD and got his autograph and I bought a bunch of charms to update my ita bag/chain and some stickers and a new little mini deku figure 😋

I found one of the Froppy figures I've been looking for and the vendor was so nice he even offered to let me hold it but i just couldn't afford to get it 😭 at least i got to see her irl

And i even met a hardcore Ben 10 fan!!!! It was so awesome to see a 10 years later cosplay in the wild, and he even had an official omniverse omnitrix!!!!

AFO really reminded me how nice and fun anime cons can be when the people running it really care! I'll defs be going again next year!!

Duffy and ShellieMay decided Gael needed a day out, so while everyone else went to a hockey game, they took her for a fun breakfast!

Gael put together a perfect plate at the buffet, and she was only too happy to share with everyone!

After breakfast, it was time to see the movie Wicked! Gael asked very nicely if we would buy her a special popcorn tin, and we just couldn't say no.

Obviously, Gael, Duffy, and ShellieMay had an absolutely wonderful time. Everyone enjoyed the movie, and some of us may have even cried a little bit. But we wont say who!

All the food I ate and took pics of during my trip to Orlando a few weeks ago 💗

Ate some Tsunami shrimp and broccoli from Red Robin and the manager was so nice!! Also ate at Kava’s Tacos and Tequila and it was to die for
