i wonder if the reason why helaena and aemond's cradle eggs didn't hatch, beyond the fact that it isn't actually all that common, is because by the time they were born, viserys already didn't care that much about his children. presumably it was viserys who placed the eggs in his children's cradles; when he did it for aegon, the son he craved for so long, sunfyre hatched, and went on to have a famously strong bond with aegon. but he doesn't seem nearly as interested in his third and fourth children, and their eggs don't hatch. on the other hand, we have rhaenyra, who famously loved her sons, and four out of five hatched cradle dragons.

now, there's obviously a lot of exceptions to this rule — tessarion was a cradle dragon, moondancer, morning & daemon's complicated relationship with his daughters, whatever the fuck was going on with jaehaerys and alysanne's kids. it isn't the only factor in whether a cradle egg hatches or not, but i wonder if the act of placing it in the cradle has some vaguely magical significance, and whether it matters who does it. that if the person who places it is full of love and excitement, it makes the egg that bit more likely to hatch.

Later on, Tim finds documents about brainwashing one of the heirs to the League of Assassins in Illinois. Apparently, they have a scientist couple there who's been manipulating an amnesiac and successfully researching the source of the Lazarus Pits.

Bonus: Jazz is also a kidnapped child and an experiment to see how long-term high exposure (by consumption and proximity) affects people.

Extra bonus!: A good quantity of Amity Park is part of the Council of Spiders, both relatives, people in vacation, retired members, sponsors, etc. And Jazz finds out early on when Danny comes in, worried for the both of them.

I think it would be funny if Tim just snatched them and reported the town to JLD. Like- Bruce isn't the only one who could kidnap kids. Jason adopted all of the Crime Alley kids, Batman is a serial adopter, later on Tim finds out that Damian is like Jason and Bruce but with animals, and Dick is just done with all of them.

Day 07 - Morsel

“I don’t think that’s a good idea…”, A’viloh whispered and carefully tried to take a look over the crate they all hid behind.

“Keep your stupid head down or they’ll see us!”, the oldest boy among them hissed. “You think everything is a bad idea anyway.”

Tykha, who was the youngest among them but still very smart for his age and not at all fond of the other boy’s quips, retorted, “Don’t be so mean, Khuba! We all know this was your idea and you just made Laqa do this so he’d get in trouble.”

“That’s a lie!”, the dark-haired kid answered quite angrily and the two boys almost got into a fight when the other one stubbornly replied, “No, it’s not!”

A’viloh pushed himself a little more into the corner between the crate and the wall, as if he could vanish by doing so, and wondered how he once again got himself into trouble although he really really tried not to.

Laqa.

Of course the answer was Laqa. It actually was every single time the small red-haired Miqo’te got involved in something silly. Khuba barely talked to him at all and Tykha usually wasn’t the one coming up with crazy ideas. But when Laqa asked him to do something, he either coaxed and argued until A’viloh was persuaded or he simply grabbed his hand and pulled him along.

Needless to say, it was usually A’viloh who either got caught or scolded at for not stopping the other boys from their nonsense.

So while A’viloh already imagined how angry U’odh would be once they were found out and the other two boys still quarreled about who’s idea this had been, the troublemaker in question sticked his blonde head out of the window. “Shhh! Shut up you idiots!”, he commanded and everybody fell silent for a second.

“Do you have it?”, Khuba asked then quietly, while Tykha whispered, “Hurry up!”

A’viloh had decided it was better to keep his mouth shut and just watched as Laqa vanished back into the building before finally returning a painfully long moment later to climb back out of the open window.

“Go! Someone’s coming!”, he yelled urgently. “We’ll meet at the pond!”

In the blink of an eye Tykha and Khuba had vanished into different directions and only A’viloh remained staring after the other boys with a mixture of surprise and confusion written all over his face.

“Come on, A’vi!”, Laqa repeated and grabbed his hand. Before A’viloh could even think of replying anything he was already dragged behind by the taller boy. Trying to keep up with him wasn’t easy and A’viloh almost stumbled a few times but at least he didn’t hear any angry voices calling after them. After a few moments they passed the small shallow path at one side of the pond that led outside of the village without having to pass one of the gates.

There, in their usual hiding place, Khuba and Tykha already sat awaiting the other boys arrival.

A’viloh gasped for air once they finally stopped and the other two stared at Laqa with gleams of anticipation in their eyes. Impatiently they gathered in a small circle to —

“I saw what you did there!”, a voice suddenly exclaimed nearby and made them all jump. Behind them stood a young girl with black hair and greyish-blue eyes.

“What are you doing here?”, Khuba scolded at his younger sister but the girl wasn’t impressed by her brother’s bossy tone. She simply crossed her arms in front of her chest and declared, “I want some too or I’ll tell mother!”

“You snitch!”, Tykha cursed but that also didn’t impress her. Annoyed she rolled her eyes and turned to leave. “Alright, if you say so…”

“Fine!”, Laqa hissed but still looked a little angry. “I have enough for all of us.”

A triumphant grin appeared on her face and quickly she squeezed in between A’viloh and Laqa. The later pulled a little package wrapped in palm leaves out of his pockets and carefully unfolded it in the middle of them. What appeared was a small heap of delicious looking dried dates - a treat that was usually strictly rationed.

“There you go!”, Laqa said while all of them hungrily eyed his loot. “Help yourself.”

One after the other each of them picked one of the tasty morsels and began to eat in silence. And if any of the grownups actually noticed some of the fruits being gone, certainly none of them suspected the bunch of innocently looking children to have stolen them…

Not to keep adding ideas to the ever-growing pile I have, but I do think a lot about a fic of Sanji’s siblings coming crashing back into his life once he’s settled down in the All Blue.

Like Sanji is living his dream. He’s got his restaurant, he’s got Zoro, he’s got three beautiful children, he’s got his found family in the crew and the baratie. He’s fully thriving and BAM a big ass ship shows up one day and out pops his siblings looking for him.

And he so fucking mad because he never wanted to see any of them again. He especially didn’t want his kids within 100 miles of them. But they roll up to his restaurant (or house, depending what kind of narrative tension you want to have) and say “dad’s dead. Come home for his funeral”

it’s really sad that i/my family don’t know much about our family history due to lost records/preserved oral histories lost due to deaths/etc. and even sadder that my mom thinks it’s unimportant/uninteresting because we probably spent generations in poverty + not amounting to much. it’s important to me!! it matters to me!!! it was and will be important to someone else!!!!

When you have the uncommon life experience of having very, very young siblings when you yourself are an adult you naturally develop a parental protectiveness over them, which means that your worst fears often involve something happening to those younger siblings that you either can't stop or can't save them from, and I think this is why Mike Schmidt in the fnaf movie is such a hard-hitting character to me that I want to throw up about it.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I definitely still have my ‘animalistic’ tendencies. I remember that they were a lot more severe when I was younger, though. Around the early times Sonic took me around, I remember nipping Sonic whenever he made too sudden movements towards me— I’d always feel bad about it afterwards because it was mostly defensive instinct.

More recently, I don’t do that (as much) anymore because I’m not as fearful as I was before. (I do still like biting Sonic though, playfully. That’s what siblings do right? Play fight.) Sifting through your list, I do still do most of those, growling, biting, purring, burrowing, hissing too. (The exception is shaking off water, because I usually dry myself off with my tails as propellers so I avoid getting other people wet)
