Clay already received lots of shovel talks from his momma leave the poor guy alone

First of all, MC's brother is not the kind of guy to do that; he'd never interfere in other ppl's relationships

Secondly, if he did, Eric WOULD NOT survive the things Clay had to say about him; you see, everyone thinks that Clay may choose violence in situations like these, but his roasting abilities are actually A-Class if he chooses to talk back. His temper is bad, yes, but no one-NO ONE can talk that way about his relationship with his family (except ofc mommy).

And lastly, Clay might have been strict to his sister sometimes and may have done things she didn't agree with/ that weren't okay, but it was never sth she resented him for; that kinda behavior was also lowkey coded in his genes and they didn't know any better (which is no excuse ofc, but it explains the reason behind it at least).

The whole concept here is that something was happening at the moment, be it how they were laying in bed, how the hair pooled over the pillow, or how sokka was able to hold onto it. my favorite thing in Justice League fics is when a character fucks up so badly that their only option is to go talk to Batman. And they still — still — take a moment to figure out how desperate they are before going.

Bruce has such “don’t bother me, I’m working, also why the hell would you do that” disapproving dad energy. It’s stunning.
