the thing that doesn't make sense to me regarding the "he was putting her career on the line" POV is that there's no previous behavior from abbot that makes that believable to me. abbot faked a teenager's exams (w/o her knowledge) so she could get an abortion, told another doctor said teenager was getting back for the pills and didn't seem to care that robby could very easily find out what he did, reprimanded but immediately praised santos for doing a risky procedure she wasn't allowed to and took every opportunity he got to do procedures the hospital board wouldn't allow on the daily. nothing from his behavior told me he would put someone else's career on the line with something we were shown he's very capable of doing. add that to mohan's arc this season and the possibility of that POV being the case becomes nonexistent to me. it never even crossed my mind before checking what people were saying about the episode. i read it as a joke bc nothing else shown would tell me it wasn't.

comparing it to robby and david's situation: it was Not a surprise how robby reacted after david was proven innocent from the shooting. he was a bit more asshole-ish to how he'd probably react in a normal day, especially after a breakdown, but where he stood on the whole situation was not new. we were shown and told robby could react like that; we were shown and told abbot didn't care about what could happen to him or his career if a patient's health was on the way

Stumbling back a step as power arcs off the gate. Is this normal? There’s a klaxon screaming and your heart drops. Barely hear someone yelling ‘abort’ when the first person breaks and tries to run. The concrete floor under your feet buckling and cracking and you fall, sliding toward that miasma. Someone’s screaming and it might be you. Grabbing at your tether as you slide and someone else falls on you and you both hit that churning surface.

A tiny, little bot with a domed, silvery head trailing a severed cable behind it. But hiding you is only going to cause him problems if your keeper comes looking for you. Still, he can’t just ignore you. Can’t pretend he doesn’t see you, because he knows too well what that’s like.

Holy fuck this episode went from 0-100 REAL QUICK. Shaping up to be another incredible Kusuriya arc.

First of all it’s really dope to see both Maomao’s fathers getting some shine in this one. Luomen returning to the rear palace and getting the respect he deserves. At first I thought he was just being a Good Samaritan trying to help the servants and staff learn to read, but I never would’ve guessed it would’ve all tied back to the abortion medicine plotline from earlier in the season! Servants could be used to pass along abortion medicine recipes and if they can’t read they’d never even know! Lady Shin, the caravan, it all makes sense now.

I honestly understand why Shenlü and the other clinic ladies would be so bitter towards the world. Most of them were brought to the palace as little kids, raped by the emperor and then tossed aside and prevented from leaving just because he’d touched them. We already knew the pedo went for underage concubines, but knowing he was taking advantage of even non concubines just makes me feel even LESS sympathy for what Anshi did to em 🤷🏾‍♂️

But wtf was that twist!! Suirei is still around?!! Because when this whole thing began, it was more of a one off thing that wasn't supposed to garner much thought. So if ford got pregnant from this poll, and it seemed like he didn't want to be, it would just be funny, and you wouldn't think too much about it. But now that I've pushed it further, and we've gotten a glimpse into fords head about how he actually feels about this whole thing, and there's almost like... a pseudo character arc that's happening underneath it all?? There's a level of realism that this comic has been injected with, and that is a valid question that's gonna pop up.

I don't wanna reveal too much, because at this point we're down to the end, and I'd like to keep a lot of what happens next a surprise. But it is worth saying right now that ford will and always has had the option to terminate his pregnancy if he wants to. However, your line of thinking is probably where fords head is right now. He honestly doesn't know what the rules are. He never has, and that's part of why he's been so nervous this whole time. Because this whole weird competition that he's been whisked away into is shrouded is secrecy, and the endgame has always been very very cryptic. Knowing that this hypothetical baby is bills has only heightened that uncertainty. Is it even possible to terminate a euclydian pregnancy?? WHAT'S GOING ON

And all that i've said iiiis worth mentioning because of what I'll draw if/when ford wins. I can't say much, but just keep that in mind! If he carries the baby to term, it's because he wanted to.

At this point, I couldn't even get upset with Shauna, even if I tried. With her slowly going off the rails, showing no compassion for Ben, being detached from everyone and everything, being volatile toward her team mates, I sure said "Someone needs to sit her down."

But no. I feel even more sorry for her than I did before. It just seems like she can never win. Even when she thinks she's winning, she is losing.

I was happy to see someone reach out and check in with her 1 on 1.

How come no one stands in her corner? What happened? Are they passively giving up on her? It does seem a bit like they are.

What happened with Taissa? She as always there to support her and reason with her. When she wanted to abort the baby, Taissa advised her not to. When she made the decision, Taissa was there again. When she had to give birth?Again. Now? Taissa's attention is completely on Van. I am happy to see more of them! But Taissa was the closest one to Shauna after Jackie.

Van?Well...Van is by Taissa's side so there's that.

Lottie?Lottie was glued to Shauna when she was pregnant. What happened? Why is she so distant now? Busy being a shaman for Travis and Akilah.

Misty is sitting on the sidelines because she is scared.

So my last hope kinda lies in Natalie's hands. She needs to step it up and take proper charge. I think she will, taking into consideration the little fragments we got from the trailer. But right now...she's busy struggling.

So where does that leave Shauna?

In Melissa's hands. A character who spent season one in the shadows, season two on the sidelines with Gen, and now is center place. Why? To serve as Shauna's next breaking point.

She says and does all the right things. Starts off timidly, testing the ground. Shauna is scary but not so scary. No. Not really. Not when one knows what they are doing. This could have two outcomes, of course, depending on the intent. Not that it matters what Melissa's intentions are at this point because she is going to die either way.

And now...my biggest question.

Will Melissa die off of Shauna's hands? Will we get a flashback of an Adam Martin like death?

Can Shauna even exist by herself? She always needs someone to take her by the hand. She hated Jackie for dogging her around, but she was the one handing her the leash.

Melissa is there to tell her all the right things and how she should accept her dark side. Which in a way, is a good thing to do. Growth can only happen once one accepts oneself. She crosses the line of acceptance, however, and goes straight for enabling. Which brings us to

What are Melissa's intetions?

If she genuinely cares for Shauna, I can pin it on her naivety and her wanting to impress, so she notices her and gives her a chance. Sadly, that'll end up with Melissa becoming a lapdog, a Shauna to Shauna's Jackie. Is Melissa fucked?If we consider losing her personality just so she can be with Shauna lol..."Do you like,actually have a personality?" Nah, not anymore,she doesn't.

If her intention isn't genuine and it comes from a place of self-preservation, and she is in a way digging her way through Shauna's walls, she is definately fucked. What happened to Adam Martin the moment Shauna thought that he didn't love her and he is, in fact, a threat in disguise? She stabbed him! "I thought he loved me" she told Taissa who was in shock, because what the fuck Shauna? Why did you murder an innocent man? But he wasn't innocent. He kinda broke Shauna's heart.

So, it just sucks for Shauna however way we look at it.

I'm not complaining about or hating on the narrative. I love it because it's necessary for her character's arc. It's just really sad how, after everything, she might get played again, and she will end up blaming herself for it. For being naive. For letting someone in.

I was rooting for her happiness and contentment for a moment, but I remembered she has a sad meow meow rep she has to keep. :3

It's interesting to think about character growth amongst the Bell's Hells because some of them did have some but it was subtle or aborted or avoided. I think about Sam and FCG and how Sam was trying really hard to engage with FCG's search for meaning and pursuit of a relationship with the Changebringer but it kept getting rejected by everyone else? It seemed like even Matt pushed those moments away, and based on that pattern idk if going to Aeor would have helped FCG's arc either.

So I don't feel like Matt didn't serve those moments, actually - FCG had maybe the most interesting and complete arc! He actually was rewarded for pursuing the Changebringer pretty consistently, and his actions had consequences. Their coin was upgraded, they had visions, and they were able to have some meaningful moments in the temples, so I'm not sure why you feel Matt pushed this away.

I do feel other characters did, though, and honestly I think that's sort of like...Bells Hells did not bring out the best in each other. Their pathological avoidance of conflict combined with Matt's need to get to a very specific plot meant that either things sort of got smoothed over and fixed by outside forces (Essek solving Laudna's problems for her) or just stayed there forever. I don't think the cast wished each other ill! But I think that they were playing characters who were kind of self-absorbed! Like, it's valid to feel jealous if you genuinely tried to make a connection with a god and didn't receive one and your buddy FCG did; jealousy is a very normal emotion. But to outwardly express this to them and be short with them or dismissive towards their exploration is, in fact, an asshole move - it's one thing to wish you had what your friends have, but it's another to be unkind to them because of it, and honestly basically everyone but Chetney and Orym had their dickhead moments towards FCG...but they also never took it far enough to actually have a meaningful fight about it. It was kind of a self-perpetuating stagnation, in that no one would actually challenge the dynamics and force the issue, and as someone who thinks being passive-aggressive and conflict avoidant is infinitely more toxic than being like, regular aggressive, it really showed with how FCG was like, one of the only people doing something interesting and the rest of the party was just kind of snidely bitter about it.

I would like to think that FCG going to Aeor would have opened up new (and different) avenues; but given that Ashton's explorations were also not really rewarded I'm not sure. I think that came right at the point where Matt was really burning out. But I think that's a totally separate issue; the Changebringer stuff was pretty solid and the party being passive aggressive and nonconfrontational was literally a problem from the jump.

right so spoilers, but after 2 seasons of her being used to prop up other characters and not being allowed to be her own character, minus a small arc where she deals with being tortured (which just means she leans a lot on the main character), her big conclusion and happy ending is that she fucked off from the rebellion to raise a kid she got from the main character as a kind of "they live on through them" type deal, it's really weak and should have just been her enjoying the sunset because she's never once shown any interest in being a mother or starting a family

I recently got into 9-1-1 (read: binged all seven seasons and five episodes in two weeks) and I can honestly say no other fandom drew me in this quickly - that being said I love the color theories surrounding our boys, however I am still a bit unclear on what the significance of Eddie's yellow / Buck's blue is and how do they play into eachother?

Hi!! Welcome to the madness. I will link my main posts about the blue and yellow but a lot happened this season already, so I'll do an overview here too (x x x x x)

Basically, Buck's coming out arc is blue and yellow coded and Buck is dressed in shades of blue through the whole thing.

The culmination of Buck's coming out arc is the coming out scene in 705 because it is the only moment Buck chooses to come out. So this is Buck's blue.

While Buck was doing all that, Eddie was in the sun, or surrounded by gold/yellow.

So in the coming out scene, we have Buck settled into his blue and Eddie in front of his yellow.

But the blue and yellow coding of Buck and Eddie actually started in 201. Down to the way that "Practice rounds have blue caps. Gold caps are live." with the blue and yellow lights on the ambulance ceiling. If you pay attention while watching they have a lot of scenes with blue and yellow elements.

But the main thing here is the will reveal.

For all intents and purposes, this is an aborted love confession, and Buck is in yellow, Eddie is in blue. But more importantly, Buck is in the yellow that we have behind Eddie for the coming-out scene.

And interestingly enough, the blue of the wall, is the blue of Buck's hoodie in the hospital when he comes out to everyone. So they are switched.

Also, during the 601 dinner, when they establish the couch thing, they are blue and yellow, like, Buck's grey is blue in the same way Eddie's beige is yellow.

So the idea is that Eddie will be sandy yellow beige the same way Buck was navy blue while figuring himself out. One example of that is the sandy shirt Eddie is wearing while talking to Bobby on 804. Also the general blue and yellow coding of Eddie's arc that episode.

Something else that happened is that Eddie was wearing Buck's blue at the hospital in 805.

Which leads us to today's clip. I color-corrected the clip because @stagefoureddiediaz thought that it might be the same shirt, which would put Eddie firmly in the yellow category while talking to the priest, and tie things to that conversation in 601.

This puts more into the theory that Eddie find his way to his shade of yellow the same way Buck found his shade of blue. I think since Buck worked through darker shades of blue to find his color, Eddie will do the opposite and will be lighter shades of yellow, working up to something in this real of yellow.

And that the buddie canon will be with Buck in his blue and Eddie finally in his yellow. So I'm on high alert for them in blue and anything that could be categorized as yellow.

And this got longer than I planned oajksoaksoaks if you read this I love you 🫶

And in the live action Scooby-Doo 2 movie, they made this literal -child- the main villain of the series that created a cult and a bunch of monsters because he was ditched and literally thrown out of the van by the Mystery gang.

haven't been in the fandom in a while so my memory is a bit fuzzy but the writers hate her sooooo bad it's not even funny. she started having a redemption arc where she realized the error of her ways and started working on herself as a person bc she wanted to be a hero and then did a 180° by siding with the villain. writer called her irredeemable multiple times on twitter despite the fact that she's just a spoiled bratty teenager who was also emotionally abused by her mother. her dad gets victimized despite the fact that he was complacent in the abuse and never tried to help her be a better person. overrall what the hell were you guys THINKING!!!

SHE HAD SO MUCH GOING FOR HER.... The writers tried giving her a redemption arc but then the creator of the show said that she, a TEENAGE GIRL, was incapable of change and redemption so all of that development was thrown in the trash and she became a shallow character again. Meanwhile, the creator gives a mini redemption arc to the MAIN VILLAIN, who literally ABUSED AND NEGLECTED HIS SON. She deserved so much better man

Typical Mean Girl character with an aborted redemption arc. Chloe has bullied the main protagonist Marinette Dupian-Cheng for a very long time. However, in Season 2 there was a beginning of a redemption arc that was wholly abandoned because the new showrunner deemed that a mean girl (who had an absentee/abusive mother and a limp noodle of a father) is evil incarnate and therefore can not be redeemed in good faith. The one good influence on Chloe's life abandoned her at the time of need and the fandom belittles and blames her for reverting back to her abusive ways when really she was left behind by the narrative. Even her own half-sister never gave her the time of day.

OH MY GOD. DUDE.Ok so she was a main (ish) villain within the first 1-3 seasons, but over time she was slowly getting a redemption arc, and we were getting more info about her past, and it turns out she was pretty heavily neglected as a kid (WHICH EXPLAINS WHY SHE WOULD ACT LIKE A BAD PERSON). And then, Thomas "dipshit" Astruc decided to THROW AWAY HER ENTIRE REDEMPTION ARC, AND WRITE HER OUT OF THE FUCKING SHOW!!!! i havent watched nor caught up in a while, but from what i remember: she started out as a typical 1-dimensional mean girl, but then they gave her a surprising amount of depth?? like she got to be queen bee, learn responsibility as a superhero, she even is one of only a couple characters we know of to actually fight off hawkmoth's power. they were going to really interesting places with her character, and we were all excited for her redemption arc.

...and then they made her a flat villain again, taking away all of her complexity and development, and instead gave the powers and depth to a new sister of hers that suddenly arrived out of nowhere instead. what

Ch.3 pt 2

Looking arround, even if everyone got out of the way of the blast, the tracks would likely fall on everyone after. Danny was running on instinct when he grabbed Biker who was furthest away and threw him into Actual Bat. He then started growing an ice shield arround everyone.

The thing about his core's abilities is that they're way stronger than his basic abilities. Yes, he could make an ectoplasam shield more quickly, but that would break on impact. His ice was more tiring, and he would have to let go of the ice on the ride, but it wouldn't break unless he let it.

The shield was paper thin at first, but then he let go of the ride and it grew to arround an inch before the blast.

The girl in overalls hugged a guy(?) In a studded leather jacket as he(?) yelped at the sound. The mother hugged her kids as they stared up in amazement, and the gentleman just watched him appraisingly.

The rails feel through the flames with a loud creak and clang. They bounced off the ice and tore into the ground.

Only once the flames died and metal stilled did danny release the ice. Three other people were running up to them. One dressed in black and blue, one covered in primary colours, and the daylight one, Signal.

As the shield lowered, the gentleman thanked both him and the bats, "I'm sorry, but i need to find my family"

"That's fine," Actually Stealthy (the one in black and blue) said "Spoiler will be at the gate, she'll help you find them, Mr. Wayne" The gentleman nodded and ran off.

The rest of the bats wasted no time getting everyone evacuated and checked for injuries. Another person who looked like a bat showed up soon after to help.

"So, you're a Meta?" Colourblind Test asked.

"What's a Meta?" Danny immediately shot back, as everyone in earshot winced for some reason.

Colourblind Test squinted at him and opened his mouth to say something before Big Bat inturupted. "Of course," he grunted, "there are no Metas in Gotham," before nodding at Danny and stalking off.

Signal sighed and hopped over. "Sorry about Batman "(His name was actually Batman??)" and Robin. The whole No Metas In Gotham rule is more to warn aginst going out thinking you're invincible then getting hurt."

Robin (apparently) aborted his angry squawk halfway through and stalked off to Nightwing.

"All well and good, but that still doesn't answer what a Meta is."

Signal stopped short of his next sentence and gaped like a fish at him for a few moments. "Are you serious?" He ended up choking out.

Danny nodded and gestured for Signal to continue.

"Right! Ok then, Well, I'm... a Meta"

A blank stare

"Right, doesn't help. So, a Meta is anyone with extraordinary abilities. Usually humans who've been through some sort of life-or-death situation, or exposed to some sort of compound that releases latent abilities. A prime example of the latter there would be the Flash family, or Poison Ivy."

Danny was to busy thinking about how perfect of a cover this was to think of how he knew exactly none of those names."Alright, cool cool. I need to tell my parents. And my sister... Oh Ancients, everyone nearly just died."

Signal nodded as if he were waiting for that fact to hit. "Come on, I'll help explain it to your family, and get you checked for shock." Danny nodded, so exhausted enough to forget his hair was still all snowy.

So! Who noticed the cameo beforehand! I wouldn'tv'e! (Edit, i actually didn't realise he was there at first. Wrote the first chapter and was just 'who is that?' Then i started ch.2 and was like 'Bruce Wayne?!?!?')

I should also note how I'm gonna use names before the next arc starts.

The name I use while writing will be determined by the name most characters will be using for them in the scene. Like how Duke was refered to as 'Duke' until he put the Signal suit on. Then he was 'Signal'.

This is important because for reasons to be explained, Danny has 9 of them.

Well. I was going to post this batch of drawings the day Star came out, but uh... yeah. How we all doing fellow Americans?

I'm definitely better off than most of the country, I'm in one of the safest blue states that just voted to protect abortion rights, but I'm worried for friends and family, for minorities and vulnerable groups in general, and even with my position of relative privilege, as a woman in America I'm still fairly worried for myself too. God, I can't believe we're in this position again. I have so much I could say, but most it's very angry, and I can save that for other spaces. Let's focus on art for now.

So, I really loved Star, I felt it was a great ending to the story, and wrapped up the emotional arcs of our three protagonists very neatly - especially best girl Frostdawn. God, what a gorgeous name. :D I was on the Froststar train all the way, but honestly, getting such a beautiful medicine cat name for her has made me way happier that she didn't immediately lose it to become Froststar. As soon as I saw that name, I knew I had to draw her in a lovely dawn setting, so here it is. :D I also have been wanting a new phone case for a while, and with my birthday coming up I figured this was the perfect drawing to use for a new phone case and splurge a bit. ^^ The case hasn't arrived yet, but I'll post a pic when it does.

Here we have Frostdawn sitting by the edge of the lake, basking in the glow of a new dawn for herself and her Clan, finally happy and free from the trauma and the responsibility of saving her Clan that weighed on her for so long from such a young age. She has an even bigger scar on her throat now, since Splashtail attacked there yet again and left a pretty big gash, and she's got a pretty decent-sized scar across her shoulders now too, and a few smaller ones scattered from Splashtail's final attack.

I'm very happy with how this turned out. :D I love how the colors all came together, how the scar turned out, the background, all of it. :D

Arcueid: Can Arc even get pregnant? I'm going to go with no but even if she can chances are she knows only the vaguest of details about it. Any Arcueid pregnancy adventure is going to involve an awful lot of explaining basic facts of human biology to her while she glosses over major details in favor of fixating on small points most other people don't consider important

Ciel: Ciel is going to cry from joy not so much because she got pregnant but because the fact that she can get pregnant now means she's truly free of her curse. Her body can once again change and grow and even bear children. The next time she sees Noel she goes on and on about how happy she is and how wonderful her life has become and inadvertently pisses Noel off so badly she ruins her entire week

Noel: Noel's first thought on learning she's become pregnant is to be happy at finally achieving a little slice of a normal life, her second thought is to call Ciel and try to rub it in her face as hard as possible, and somewhere distantly in third is the fact that she is in no way ready to become a mother and oh god this is going to fuck everything up

Satsuki: I think she's just normal about it actually. Satsuki's narrative position as a love interest is to be the normal classmate, the girl next door, an ordinary person drawn into this supernatural world by happenstance rather than someone steeped in it like the rest of the cast and this means her reaction to getting pregnant is just normal too

Akiha: Getting pregnant makes all of her self-loathing and belief that she's a monster crash down on her at once. Given the blood of demons that she carries, given what her family has done, is it really right to bring any more of them into the world? Should not the Tohnos simply end with her? Also more than anyone else she experiences pregnancy as total body horror - her frame simply isn't built for it and she finds it both painful and disgusting. Combined with the extreme hormonal fluctuations of pregnancy and their emotional effects I think she tries to kill herself at least once

Hisui: She's really quiet but from the way that she smiles you can tell that she's simply too happy to express herself well. Second most normal about it after Satsuki

Kohaku: She sits staring into space and dissociating out of her mind for six hours straight and then brews herself an abortion drug and quietly takes care of it without telling anyone
