TTS Oriko is incredibly funny to me because in canon basically everything about Oriko is a larp. She's a thoroughly middle class teenager who inherited a mansion she can't maintain but she's larping as a blueblooded scion of privilege, her plans are the world's least effective most round about way to do things and only work because she's cheating with magic but she's larping as a genius chessmaster supervillain, she's a lame teenager but she's completely convinced she's a monster, etc. HOWEVER TTS just treats Oriko's facade as 100% real - in its version of canon she is a true ojou-sama, she is a genius mastermind capable of planning hundreds of years into the future, etc etc. The only part of her it really gets right is the bit where her plan involves manipulating the elementary schooler she adopted into murdering her and becoming exactly the right person needed to save the world in the process. Like, yes, Oriko would do that. She literally never passes up the opportunity to contrive a way to die as a villain and save people in the process

i remember in to the stars, oriko is like implied to have seen like literally thousands of years into thr future and decided she needed to horribly traumatize yuma so yuma would grow up to be like the most influential magical girl but also spy master for the entirety of earth or whatever

homura oriko is actually the most awesome ship in the world what circumstances would have to exist to make homura hold hands with oriko without first shooting up a school or something

i think about homura's likely repeated executions of oriko and kirika at the start of each loop a lot. i really think oriko magica is such a perfect companion piece for a multitude of reasons, but honestly homura waking up each loop, whatever mess of empty emotions that's swirling in her stomach ignored so she can go and execute two people who aren't even likely to contract is maybe one of my favourite things it adds to the story of madoka magica. i wonder if the ritual of it, very much ritual sacrifice in a sense, is calming to homura. i wonder if the grief fills her soul gem a little slower in the minutes and hours after she paints the decaying mikuni manor red with oriko's blood.
