What do you think of the scene in the pilot where Shauna is in Callieās room? It was always disgusting but it feels so much more sinister now.
Itās a deeply deeply disturbing scene for sure, especially looking back on it now with everything we know about Shauna. Itās gross. But I also think that scene sets up the nature of the show so well. I love that it doesnāt shy away from how fucked up these characters are, itās not afraid to show the ugly side of the trauma and regression they carry. Thatās why Iām always confused that people are only just now being like āI hate Shauna now sheās a terrible person!ā when her literal first scene on the show is her masturbating to pictures of her daughterās teenage boyfriend. They warned us about her! It was made clear pretty early on that Shauna is not a good person, or a traditional survivor archetype, but she will always be a fascinating and complex character.
What I appreciate about Yellowjackets is that it doesnāt try to redeem these women. It lets them be messed up. It leans into the rot, moral decay, and arrested development. I donāt think the writers care if we like ShaunaāI think sheās meant to represent the showās core themes of ferocity, how survival isnāt inherently noble, and how the past seeps into the present. Sheās not there to be forgivable. Sheās there to be honest and raw.

I know I already made a post about how the girls arenāt getting rescued in season three because they havenāt split into rivaling tribes yet but also Other Tai hasnāt come out to play. In season one Tai sleeps over at Shaunaās house because sheās afraid of her other self, quite literally said, and I quote ā you know how bad it can getā like weāve seen other Tai as an Adult, however weāve only seen snippets of other Tai in her teen era that means weāre still missing apart of the story. How bad did it get?
Like right now {season 3} only teen Van knows about Taissa other self, but like I mentioned in season one adult Shauna seems to know as well
Seems like only a trusted few because Natalie, Lottie and Misty donāt seem to know, like if Iām going straight off of that sneak peek of the season 3 episode 7 I saw earlier

No, because, if Misty dies and she is on that airplane alone because she's the only one who like absorbed her younger self and accepted her and developed as a person instead of splitting and fracturing into a teen Misty and an adult Misty like everybody else, AND SHE ENDS UP IN THAT PLANE ALONE BECAUSE OF THAT IM GONNA FUCKING SCREAM

Melissa's name is Greek for "Honeybee." And Yellowjackets will raid honeybee hives if given the chance. Shauna invaded Melissa's home. Mel didn't consider herself a real yellowjacket. God, this show has me by the neck.

A moot told me their theory is that the people who die back home, have the plane vision because it is taking them back to the wilderness.
We didn't see Travis's death, so we don't know what he saw! But Natalie? Now Van?
If this checks out and we see it happen with the other survivor YJ, it's going to be really interesting. Will we get to see them all reunited as their teen selves back in the wilderness? Kind of like, their souls are tethered to that place. After all Lottie does say that Javi is with them...Same for Jackie and Wilderness baby.
I gonna sound real dumb, but please be patient with me. Why the air plane scene is only show when the adult girls are dying? Like if is kinda final destination, and they were all supposed to died in the crash, then why jackie and teen lottie purgatory scene isn't in a plane? Why just adult nat and van? They could have done it with Jackie, like Shauna wakes up her saying that rescue has arrived, she gets on the plane, and realizes that she is alone, and she is dying, maybe cabin guy is there, idk. I get Laura Lee not having a plane scene, she literally died on a plane.

i know natalie telling travis āthe wilderness choseā javi was out of desperation and guilt.
nat never believed in the wilderness before that moment. sheād been adamantly against it until the grief of what sheād doneāof what she failed to do left her grasping for something else to carry just a little of that weight. after javiās death, natalie seems to constantly teeter between not believing and not knowing what to believe.
but still. a small part of me wonders if she told travis āthe wilderness choseā not only to protect herself from that guiltāand travis from more painābut also to protect misty. javi was the first person misty killed for natāalbeit indirectly. there would be others in time; jassica roberts, lisa (if natalie hadnāt stopped her), andā¦well, who knows how many others in the years between.
natalie never told travis that misty pulled her away from his drowning brother to die in her place. she instead, told him it was the decision of an esoteric entity nat barely even believed in. so maybe misty hiding the transponder isnāt the only secret natalieās kept over 25 years to protect her.

Van Palmer Headcannon:
Van made a mixtape (yes, an actual tape) for Taissa every year they were not together. After dying, Tai was to receive the collection. That was one of the only things Van mentioned in a will.

Teen Van : "Surviving this was never, the reward."
Adult Van : " What does that mean? If this isn't the ending then tell me what happens?"
Teen Van : "Where would be the fun in that?"
Homer tells us that Odysseus's story is all about his journey to get back to Ithaca. We,the readers, enjoy that part the most. There would be no story without the adventure.
This goes with what teen Van told her adult self when the episode starts. "Death is around every corner." They're all going to die at some point anyway. Theres no escaping death. It's about not letting the fear of death, prevent one from living.
