the way the adult yellowjackets just Can't Stop Killing really drives home the emotional impact of mari insisting to ben that they're done with all that now. jackie and javi were necessary but we didn't kill them and we're Done With That Now. and not only are they not done with it in the wilderness. but they're never going to Be done with it. they started and they can't stop. there will always be One More Person they have to kill to "protect" themselves or each other. everyone is a threat. every thread you think you've pulled out splits into three more and it all unravels from there. you wake up naked and alone and covered in blood. again. and again. and again. until the blood is yours. until you are the one in the pit (casket) with no one standing over you (eulogizing). anyhow, it's over now.

the yellowjackets fandom is so funny cause they’ll be like “she wore her clothes!!!!!” and it’s like. girlie. they’re stranded in the Canadian wilderness with no mall aside from Lottie’s hallucination, of course she wore her clothes. Javi probably wore her clothes at some point.

can’t stop thinking about travis climbing the tree to save his dad who was beyond saving even if it put himself in danger, travis fighting off the girls in order to save natalie even if it meant that he’d be killed in her place… even if it ended up costing him the brother he couldn’t save… travis running into the cave to save akilah because he can’t let her die when she’s put her trust in him, travis putting himself in the line of fire to save coach who has only been kind to travis and is one of the few people who played no role in javi’s death

also can’t stop thinking about how no one could save travis…

Travis really gonna eat his own brother huh

I will never have anything bad to say about him ever in my life. No wonder he killed himself. Fuck. And he's never not gonna hate himself. Because he told him to go after her. To save the girl he loved. And Javi, non-verbal Javi, knew his brother so much, knew his heart, they didn't even have to speak to communicate that. All it took is a look from Travis and a nod from Javi to decide that they have to save Nat. And now his love for Nat is tainted. Everytime he remembers he loves her, he remembers he sacrificed his brother for her. Of course they were toxic for each other, of course they were on again off again, they both carry the same guilt. Javi died for them to have this, how could they throw it away, how could they keep it
