sometimes I forget that yellowjackets is a horror show and not a cute 90s high school sitcom but sapphic, where the goth loner surprises everyone by going out with the geeky theatre kid, and the uptight christian girl chills out when she starts smoking weed with her stoner girlfriend, and the mean lesbian and her butch are running the girls locker room like it’s a gay speakeasy and their exasperated health teacher/soccer coach has to keep getting them out of trouble and no one gets lost in the woods or cannibalized

Something I just noticed while rewatching the fight scene: When Jackie reveals that Shauna was hooking up with Jeff, no one looks particularly surprised.

Tai makes sense because Shauna told her, but these are not the faces of people hearing a new piece of information. The closest one is Misty, and even then she looks less shocked and more anticipatory.

Was it just an open secret? Did everyone know but Jackie?

coach ben has the energy of a brother who got stuck babysitting his younger sister's sleepover and it was going fine until the sun went down now he has twelve gremlins running up the walls hissing. someone broke into dad's knife display. there are bras in the freezer. half the group is huddled in a circle chanting in tongues trying to levitate a girl, the other half are mixing ketchup and toilet water and forcing each other to drink it. he keeps finding one of them sniffing his pillow. how does she keep getting back in he locked the door? there are two mean lesbians in the corner whispering.
