I started reading a fanfiction so old that it was on some random website with an outdated ui instead of any usual fanfiction site (like ao3, ff.net, etc) and it’s made me so sad that I missed out on the earlier days of this fandom ���� like I’ll never experience talking about the newest x-files episode on a forum

this!! the amount of times that I have found myself down a live journal rabbit hole clicking on suspicious links to take me to websites that haven’t been updated since the turn of the millennium to read fanfics published before I was born…I mean, they’re always great! but such is the life of a girlie obsessed with 90s media

I just think it’s really cute how all of us on here just have a character or two that’s just Our Character. like we’ll be watching shows and reading comics and stuff and then boom, like love at first sight but worse, and suddenly our brain or our heart decides that character is Ours. and there’s no rhyme or reason to it, and it’ll be the most random character from the most obscure media, with varying levels of character development. but that’s Our Character now. and I think that’s beautiful
