RANT:

I didn’t wanna call it out but since someone else did I’m gonna because it pisses me the fuck off. Not to just suck myself off here but I noticed pretty quick this was probably AI because how are you updating 4 stories at once with multiple chapters (10+) a day unless u have HELLA backlog/drafts? Like I’ve been seeing that since s2 came out - ppl who upload multiple chapters a day but were clearly written in advance and just published in bulk. THATS FINE. If you’ve got chapters stock piled and are excited to get them out, do it! I’m also not blindly saying this, I read part of the story and it feels written by AI.

I just hate SO BAD that now one of the most popular fics for Arcane / caitvi, if u sort from most kudos, is written seemingly almost entirely by AI. And yes, I am confident that I can tell the difference between simply unpolished writing and AI. There are some really phenomenal writers in this fandom and people who clearly put a lot of time and effort into their writing. It just pisses me off that someone who puts little to no effort into something gets more recognition than some of the fic writers in this fandom who put a lot of work into their stuff but maybe don’t get a ton of notoriety.

If the writer sees this, I would happily beta read / give respectful constructive feedback for free on anything written from your brain and not a robot.

It was almost just as simple as that, that you noticed how this bully was actually smart and a lonely bitch, made her fall for you. She knew what she was getting herself into and paid no mind to what it might lead to. Even if she couldn't put the feelings she felt in a word, she still craved for you. To have you.

The friendship between you two bloomed and now she was ready to squeeze her way into your school life, uni life, career life, and even your marriage life. You would not notice how she had steered your life for forty years until it was too late.

ive been reading and rereading this fic from exams week actually. i dont know what exactly was put into the story but im assuming it was some sort of crack because this might be hands down the best thing ive ever read. i wanted to draw one of my favourite scenes (the train ride on shortline tim.... if anyone questions my taste just know that we all watched the original hazbin so youve no room to judge) ((good luck on ur job search btw author !! hoping u find one sooner than later, thanks sm for making this fic))

I would chance they at least consider themself a centrist, which functionally means slightly right-leaning. In any case, I welcome them to stick around as long as they're respectful of the space and people that frequent it (which so far they have been, since they say they've been around a while), and understand much of what I write about isn't "just" politics but lived experience to me and my audience. I too was a centrist once. Sometimes it's the littlest thing that sets off a wider epiphany for a person.

All people can change. Not all do. But it's cool when they can.

I'm not here to debate (and I recommend others don't either; debate is a sport and persuasion a skill, and sometimes even a recruitment tactic), but anyone can listen if they'd like. If my work is broadly appealing and my arguments are convincing even outside my circle; then good. I take that as a sign that I'm effective at communicating my point.

I do hope to change minds, even if it's in small ways, or at the very least I hope to give people some more insight on the topics I tackle.

While I'm rambling, I will make it clear though that I think just about any piece of art with a narrative will end up with some kind of political point. Anyone who tries to tell you their work is "apolitical" is either ignorant of their own biases, or just dishonest. It's almost as unavoidable as philosophy.

I'm very open about how Better Bones is a project about "fixing" what I feel are the pernicious themes of Warrior Cats. Clearly WC always had them to begin with. Like you mentioned with Tigerclaw's quote there-- that was a line probably taken directly from Margaret Thatcher, who herself likely heard it from Ronald Regan.

(that all said, 90% of the time when someone says "politics in works" they're usually gesturing at "things that make me think of the culture war." Only the things they, personally, clock as being "out of the ordinary" by their own standard of politics... such as, "has too many women" or "said war is bad but in a way i dont like")

I need to ask cause I kinda want to publish some poetry of mine. How do you self-publish something? Also how do you know when something is good enough to publish?

ummmm i am not the right person to ask lol i have never self-published. the only poetry i've published at all has been in very small indie lit mags & the way i've done that is basically when i find a poet or poem i like i see where they publish & if the publications are accepting submissions etc. there are tons of indie lit mags out there u could also look out for like flyers on college campuses or in coffee shops or bookstores etc sometimes local lit mags or zines or other various publications will advertise that they're open for submission the old-fashioned way. or if u find one lit mag u like go find their insta or social media & see who they follow -- sometimes u can find other similar publications that way.

& there's no such thing as "good enough to publish" tons of dogshit writing gets published every year. free urself from the idea that publication is a metric by which literary value is measured...read essays against publishing by jamie berrout...if you've written a poem that u like & u wanna try to publish it just go for it. & if u decide that u don't wanna publish it u can still just post it on the internet & share it that way. some of my favorite writing i've ever encountered is stuff people just posted on the internet that was never officially published. even if one single person reads it and loves it & copies it down in their journal or memorizes a line or thinks of it from time to time that's what art's all about....
