2023 has come to a close so that means it's time for my year in review! i've been a gif maker on tumblr for more than two years now and this account keeps growing and getting so much love. im so grateful for all of my (jong)homies and mutuals that have let me get to this point and have fun along with it. like, i hit 1k and 2k followers in the same year! thats fucking rad!

i giffed a lot more this year than last and i think it's because i was finally able to get ps and vapoursynth near the end of 2022. my confidence soared as a result. not to get mushy, but this year on tumblr has been amazing because of that. :( this was the first full year i felt like a "real" and "competent" gif maker because i finally was using the tools that everyone else was using and i knew how to use them. thats a big thing for me, because for so long i struggled with figuring out how to download vs (and ps) (on mac btw) and i felt jealous that everyone else could do it so "easily." ps and vs are also really unintuitive if you dont know what youre doing so to basically brute force my way to success is something i want to pat myself on the back for. i did this. im insane. and now ive been properly expressing my insanity via gifs for over a year now that ive been so proud of! yippie!!!! as a result of my Trials and Tribulations, ive been thinking about creating tutorials for how to download ps, vs, and how to properly use ps to make gifs for those that dont even know where to begin now that i am a Seasoned user. bc i fucking get it. let me lend a hand.

but anyway.

some highights of this year that are worth mentioning:

Greetings to the person who found my blog.

Welcome, let me introduce myself first before explaining the rules. My name is Tea, it the name that many people referred to call me and pretty simple name to remember. I am basically 18+ and bisexual, He/Him/They/Them.

This blog is all about me having fun with art, drawing and posting to share with you all. It also one of my passions to entertain others but I have some common rules that you must follows.

Art trades ( I do love to do trades but please do not go overboard with it. )

Collabs ( I like to share some ideas and do art collabs, etc etc.. )

Roleplay ( Roleplay is what I love to do but it have to be at least appropriate. no 18+ or NSFW because there's minors, but angst is allowed. )

Suggestions ( You can suggest or give me idea what to draw. But for now, Cookie run fandoms, it can be others but I'll reconsidered about it. )

You can send asks to asks about the characters that I am open in this blog. Please keep it appropriate.

What I do NOT accept

Please for the love of god do not send me feet pics. ( I am too done and exhaust from it already )

Asks or Request me to draw NSFW. (There's minor in this blog, I know it. And if you want, it do not come in for free. )

Request to draw your oc/characters. ( I only do it for friends and mutual. If you really want, then considering commission me for it. )( And also, asking me to be your friend first and tell me to draw your oc will get you banned instanly. )

And finally, common sense thing that you must know. No Proshipper, Incest, Homophobic, Racial, Slurs, other bad shit, etc...

Sorry (again) for the delay, but I did warn you my schedule would be very inconsistent. Thank you everyone for your patience. At least I was able to finish these notes tonight.

Episode 32: Controlled Demolition

I'm reacting to this while doing chores, so sorry if this is super brief. Hopefully it's not too plot heavy.

Have I mentioned I hate Kepler? Honestly the worst. I don't trust any of them.

Let's see...not a fan of Jacobi either. Of course I don't like Hilbert or his Decima project (which btw, it was very nice of the virus to not attack and kill Doug during his 100+ days alone in space without Hilbert keeping him stable). But Jacobi clearly doesn't know what he's doing, leave the dangerous chemicals alone!

Also the whole idea of Doug keeping someone on task...hilarious. Makes you wonder why Kepler REALLY gave him this assignment. Maybe to keep Doug distracted.

And then Maxwell. Looks like she has an interest in AI that's not entirely hostile, but at the end of the day, she's still working for the bad guys. When push comes to shove, she's gonna have to chose between Hera and Doug and Cutter and his errand boys. But I guess I hate her the least right now out of the three. She at least detected that Hera was in pain and is trying to do something. I hate to applaud someone for doing the bare minimum but that’s where we’re at I guess.

And Hera...you could have told Doug. He would understand. He's your friend.

I feel so bad for Hera. I just know they're gonna install some program in her that forces her to hurt her friends. It's only a matter of time.

Also, of course Kepler wants to play chess. That's the most villain thing ever, threatening someone over a chess board. Just once, I want to see a villain use a less ominous board game just to be funny. Like imagine Kepler with a nice Whisky in his hands mulling over a game of "Chutes and Ladders" or “Candyland”. It would be funny. Well at least Kepler embraces the villain aesthetic.

Though it's interesting: command doesn't know where the two years of Lovelace's life went. Or at least they claim. Now I'm curious. Was it the aliens? Is Lovelace a robot clone after all? Maybe Doug was right yet again!

A liability? Fire when ready? Oh my gosh is Jacobi gonna shoot Lovelace? Or Hilbert?

What was that?

Nice of Dr. Maxwell to make sure Hera wasn't in pain. But um...what did they just destroy on the Hephaestus? Another secret lab?

Oh my gosh. Just from the way Doug says the word "is". I've pause the episode but they better not have. THEY BETTER NOT HAVE.

If they did I'm gonna go insane.

Is that it? Yikes that really was short. Really short did I miss something? Okay, well I guess that's it.

Kepler should have stayed with his funk band. Maybe then he wouldn't be on my airlock launching list.

I follow 750 people, and about 20 of those are mutuals. I joined almost ten years ago at this point, way before there was an algorithm like the for you page (which is like two years old, max). Back before they started generating a feed for you the only ways to see posts at all would be following users to get posts on your dash or by exploring tags. Exploring tags constantly can get annoying so I followed people.

I only have about 200 followers total but I've had multiple posts breach containment - to keep my sanity I just turned off push notifications entirely except for when I get a dm. If you really want to stop a post from clogging up your activity feed while it's blowing up, the mute button has never really worked well according to reports - but you can delete the original post if you want. You'll never get a reblog in your feed again.

The reason I follow so many people is because I do like being able to see as many posts as I have time for - I follow a large amount of artists, some who only post once or twice a month, so that alone would truly be an empty feed. And on top of that I'd estimate at least 150 of them are dead blogs that haven't updated in five years because I don't have the heart to unfollow people who've moved on. I like to reblog a lot - before a lot of people flooded in from other social medias, reblogging was "the thing" you did on tumblr to a post you liked. It was really common for a post to have more reblogs than likes, with likes functioning more like bookmarks than anything. I haven't really changed how I view interacting on tumblr in a long time, but the culture here sure has changed around me. When I'm in the swing of things, I run a queue of 45 reblogged posts a day. I prefer to see posts to reblog as they get posted and reblogged by people and blogs I know, instead of always seeing posts from strangers. In my head the same post can have a different flavor coming from different users reblogging it. I enjoy having a lot of posts on my dash but I don't want the tumblr algorithm (which has a history of being flaky, making nonsensical decisions, and not giving you enough control over what you see) to be in charge of the content, I much prefer to see stuff curated by people I trust and share interests with. I hope this makes sense. Good luck with the too many notes! Tens of thousands really gets overwhelming at times.

oof okay. i didn’t think i would have to make a post talking about it but this may be my general blanket statement about it and hopefully i don’t need to make a hard and fast rule about this topic (for myself).

generally speaking, idgaf if minors follow me. i used to yeah—and i used to try and censor my blog and shit i posted because i knew i had, essentially, kids following me (why they were, no fucking idea but that’s the main reason i deleted my old blog and made this new one here because i was getting so stressed out about it) and i just didn’t want to be held responsible for “exposing them to shit” or something like that.

however. like. it’s my space, it’s my area, and i was (before) making myself miserable worrying about fucking children so i decided that i’m just not gonna do that anymore. and generally speaking, since making this blog i haven’t. when i was a teen, i followed and interacted with adults on the internet and i was fine. and i know i have some followers/mutuals/friends that i’ve known since they were younger and i didn’t feel weird about talking to them or anything. it’s good for kids to have outside adults to talk to etc etc but that’s not why i’m making this post.

basically, i’m making this post to say: if you are going to be a teenager/young adult (like 16-19) and you decide to follow me i need you to understand that i’m an adult, i talk about adult things (not just sex btw i mean just like. i’m for the exploration of dark topics in media and it will show up in my work occasionally) and that is your responsibility to navigate.

basically what i’m saying is, and bless this person’s heart. i just had a young teen/adult gimme a follow. and usually when people follow me, i do a quick scroll check to see what they post, if i want to follow back, etc etc. but the first post i saw on their blog was them rbing a very… shall we say young and on the internet opinion against a nuanced post that i personally rbed on my side blog myself without the take that this person rbed on it. just as a tldr the original post said basically “dark topics in media should exist and can be a tool to help people know what it looks like and identify it in real life so they can be able to navigate and stop this shit from happening irl.” like. a basic sentence and take (to me). this is obviously not saying you Have to go seek out media that makes you uncomfortable to read it if you don’t want to, but i’ve seen the notes on that post and i’ve seen and heard people talk about how having access to media that discussed their situation helped them themselves either come to grips with it, or to identify that it was happening or happened to them. it’s a nuanced take, and it’s one that i (personally) agree with.

yet the comment they rbed is the usual argument you see from someone who is not able to think about a situation broadly. the standard “oh well i’ve experienced csa before so i don’t need to see what it looks like” which again, tapping the sign, this is not for you then, and you don’t have to read books that explore those topics if you don’t want to. but the fact of the matter is: you aren’t going to know what everything looks like that is the breadth of the human experience—positive, or negative. shutting yourself off from potentially experiencing it via reading (a safe place) isn’t going to help you help anyone or have a complete understanding or opinion about it aside from this knee jerk reaction which is the antithesis of the post. and when all you (the person i’ve blocked btw. idk if it’s hard or soft and i don’t care really) have to add to this conversation via tags is “oh op probably made this post to justify jerking it to mha porn” then i need you to understand you are too young to be following me.

i trust people to make their own decisions. but i don’t really understand when people follow me and then have opinions like this. (hell there’s a lot of people who follow me where i don’t understand Why because it doesn’t seem like what i write would be in their wheelhouse but i can’t and won’t police people from reading my shit if they want to) however when i see stuff like this especially coming from a youngin’ i just don’t want to deal with that. because i know one day i will probably post or talk about something nuanced and i don’t want to invite a potential “callout” or “cancel culture” or freak out in my notes or argument in my inbox i’m just not doing it.

so at this time i’m not making a rule that i don’t want minors/youngins following me, again, i don’t care, but if you are going to like please please please actually understand when you don’t need to be following an adult with opinions that make you uncomfortable for your own sake.

Fun thing about tumblr is that settings allow anyone to set boundaries within the app and website.

For example, I allow everyone to send me anonymous asks using the app settings because thus far I am okay with them :3

I don't really have anything against DMS, but I don't start conversations and I don't Isuzu hold them well, which is part of the next things.

Alot of my boundaries with social media are things I set for myself. Things like "I can set down my phone whenever I want if the vibes are off", etc, but also

I do not share personal details about my life. Pretty much the only things people know about me are that I'm a white queer from the USA and other shit they've gleaned from my posting about experiences as an [insert identity] person. I don't share things like the events of my day normally, because I like to compartmentalize tumblr and keep my safe persona here seperate. I can spend some time in this little pocket reality.

And I never ask those questions of other people either, because I consider it invasive to want to know more about others than they know of me, [but of course what people choose to share on their own blogs is their own choice <2] so I don't ask more than follow ups (eg. If they say their sister was cool in the orchestra I ask what instrument but that's it. Fake example btw)

Most of my mutuals are people who either I've spam reblogged until we started legit interacting and I've said based stuff about the niche I followed then for, or people who spam reblog me and like my art n shitposts.

Anyone can tag me in stuff regardless of whether we're mutuals or not. I might not always answer, but that is not personal it is part of my personal boundaries. "I only have so much energy to give to this app and website" and "I can block hashtags if I don't wanna see my mutual's blorbo who's source material I don't care about, it's my own damn dashboard" and such.

And I answer specific question anons like this pretty easily, but I have a more difficult time with statements like positivity anons.

I love positivity anons ["if you're getting this it means we appreciate you", etc] but I find it hard to answer these because they are statements and because they sometimes come with instructions on how to pass them on because they are chain anons. Both of these take more energy than I am willing to spend, but I never delete them and I always enjoy getting them <2

I post a lot about Stranger Things and miscellaneous fandoms, and I welcome interaction there. Additions that add more insight or context to a post, etc. This type of conversation is easier to maintain, is something I am comfortable with, and is typical for the website and what I do here.

Of course, I usually don't shy away from conversing with others about what they choose to discuss on their own posts, with the understanding (the hope) that they will tell me if I am overstepping. And I also can drop it off someone appears to lose interest by not adding in case that is then wanting to end the convo.

Going back to asks, I accept asks of pretty much any topic, so long as they are well-intended and something I can answer well, as well as keeping with my blog's sort of "quota" (not getting too personal, relatively "family-friendly" as they say, and these are just my personal preferences, obviously, other blogs have different things going on that fit their own valid and swag preferences)

I also get asks on my sideblog @threesongsinatrenchcoat which is a music blog or either of my sthings rp blogs.

Basically, invade my space and if I haven't blocked you or confronted you just assume you are fine /hj

Hey, welcome to my inbox! Nice to see ya!

Honestly, I'm flattered that you like the working title. I always thought it was too descriptive or too long, but I've gotten pretty positive reception for it, so I might keep it.

So, this work has been floating around in my brain for a little while, not as long as Tales of the Unfortunate Summoner (if you're into demon summoning stuff that desperately needs a rewrite, it might be for you), but it's certainly made its presence known. It started off as a parody of one of those fanfics you might find on Wattled in 2015 regarding One Direction and selling children (if you know, you know). Personally, I could see what the authors were going for, but the concept just wasn't for me (unless I decided to not take it seriously, which I did).

So, I had a basic plot outline with no character ideas. I wanted someone to live their life, find something new, and BAM! PROBLEMS! And romance, if applicable. That one was sitting on the back burner, though. It was not the main course, and still technically isn't. After this, I had a dream in which I had characters, a better plot outline, and pretty much everything I needed. That fuelled my creative process, and I managed to start writing poems about the story, the worldbuilding, and how I wanted it to work. I later decided to turn those poems into a novel once I had more worldbuilding done, and I'm still in the process of doing that.

Warning: this is a very complicated WIP, with a huge cast of characters. While many of them are side characters, that doesn't make any of them unimportant or less vital. Each of them has a distinct role to play within the worlds (yes, worlds plural) that this story takes place in.

Additionally, this WIP is VERY dark. If you are sensitive to topics such as violence, murder, swearing, manipulation, dehumanization, psychological and physical abuse, kidnapping, gore, drowning, bigotry, or even sexual content (I think this one loosely applies), PLEASE do not read any further. This WIP is not for everyone, and if you do not like its content, that is okay. It may just not be your kind of thing, and that is entirely valid. Please, do not violate your boundaries by reading this if you feel like you will be negatively affected by any content you are about to witness. The content present in this WIP does NOT represent my personal beliefs, and was created for entertainment only. Alright, so now that we've gotten all that out of the way, I suppose I should get into what this WIP really is about. Here's a (semi-detailed) post regarding some general information you should know, as well as some bonus snippets at the end.

Genre

Love Corrupts Fresh Lilies is, at its core, a fantasy-turned-horror novel, with some elements of romance thrown in. It follows common tropes within those three genres, but I've attempted to sew them together to make something original.

Synopsis

Rafflesia Mallory, a young woman who wishes to escape her harsh reality and the people who torment her, finds herself running from the embodiment of time, disappearing into another world, one called Altalias. There, she meets a colourful cast of literal gods, among them being two rivals who want nothing more than to be together, a scammer who everyone likes, and the worst thing that's ever happened to her.

Setting

This WIP has two main settings, one being the world Rafflesia comes from, which is made to represent our real world, and Altalias the place where beings that might as well be gods reside. All other settings mentioned or referenced do not play as large a role.

Characters

The cast of characters here is very large, but here's all of them, plus a little information about them!

Rafflesia Mallory - The protagonist of this story. She often wears red, and was incredibly lonely before coming to Altalias. She also stole something from Time (who you'll learn about soon enough), which she really does not want to give back. She is canonically bisexual.

Jacob Amond - Rafflesia's cousin, and the source of most of her torment. His time in this novel is short, yet you'll be cursing his name once you finish. He's extremely egotistical, and not the nicest to his cousin. He is canonically heterosexual.

Zane Bianco - Rafflesia's ex-boyfriend, and one of Jacob's best friends. He's a decent friend, but a horribly toxic partner, with near impossible demands. He regrets his actions and attitudes towards Rafflesia, but that is not enough to save him. He is canonically pansexual.

Sitara Bauer - One of Jacob's friends, and Rafflesia's friends by association. She has high goals, and often unrealistic expectations, but keeps a positive outlook on life. She has a twin sister named Ebony. She is canonically pansexual.

Ebony Bauer - Another one of Jacob and Rafflesia's friends, and Sitara's twin. She is more cautious than her sister, and isn't as positive, but that doesn't mean she's a pessimist. She's a bit of a hopeless romantic. She is canonically lesbian.

Winifred Gallagher - One of Rafflesia's former friends that she had outside of her cousin's friend group. She's very stubborn, and knows how to get what she wants. She only recently broke off her friendship with Rafflesia. She is canonically bisexual and transfeminine.

Hugh Murphy - Another of Rafflesia's former friends that wasn't in her cousin's friend group. He enjoys mysteries, whether that's reading books in the genre, or watching shows like Scooby-Doo (Scooby-Doo is not canonical to this novel, nor is it associated with it. It is only being used to give you an idea of his taste). He is great with the outdoors, and leaves this WIP alive, which is pretty rare. He is canonically asexual.

That's it for the humans, so let's get into everyone else!

Lawrence - The god of wealth. His title is "King". He let his godly subject get the best of him, and has succumbed to greed. He scams people to get a little wealth out of them, as he attempted to do with Rafflesia once she came to Altalias. He saw a chance to bring more wealth into the system if outsiders could enter their world, and tried to capitalize (get it?) on the opportunity. He was unsuccessful. He is canonically aroace.

Csilla - The god of space and technology. Her title is "Astronomer". She was one of the first five gods to exist when Altalias came into being. She is one of the most important gods, yet prefers to hang in the background. She does not like to attract attention. She is canonically an aromantic lesbian.

Cayden - The god of agility. His title is "Shihan". He works with Griffin to keep Altalias safe and well-defended from any threats. Unsurprisingly, due to its seclusion, there are very few threats to begin with, other than some possible ones from inside. He is canonically gay.

Griffin - The god of strength. His title is "Renshi". He works with Cayden to preserve Altalias' safety. He mentors Cayden, and often keeps his bursts of energy under control. He is the calm to Cayden's storm, and they fit quite well together. He is canonically a homoromantic asexual.

Juliette - The god of theatre. Her title is "Entertainer". She loves to perform (evidently) and often works with some of her fellow gods during festivals. She is best friends with Melody and Cale. She is canonically pansexual.

Melody - The god of music. Her title is "Virtuoso". She does not like the spotlight as much as Juliette, but enjoys the thought of entertaining others with her beautiful music. No festival or event is complete without her touch. She is canonically bisexual.

Clae - The god of visual art and architecture. Her title is "Artisan". Clae loves to share her work with others, and often invites people to her studio for an afternoon of pottery. She is incredibly patient, and willing to help others if needed, whether or not the task at hand is something she is good at. She is canonically lesbian.

Kai - The god of water. His title is "Torrenter". Along with Csilla and a few others, he was one of the first gods to come into existence. He likes to project a calm image when in public, but is quite temperamental. One of his coping mechanisms is changing the weather, such as making the sky cloudy, or having light rain, heavy rain, or even hail. It takes enough energy out of him to calm him down, but does affect everyone in Altalias. He doesn't really have anyone he can talk to other than Bridget and Aura, due to how dangerous he can be. He is canonically aroaceflux.

Bridget - The god of fire and generic insults. Her title is "Roaster". Unlike many of the other gods, who had their titles bestowed upon them, she came up with her title herself. She is closest to Aura and Kai, who also represent elements. She has an awful temper, but is a great person to be around when she's in a good mood. She does tend to lash out at people directly when she's angry, but if you've proven that you will be by her side no matter what, she'll do anything for you. She is canonically bi-curious.

Aura - The god of wind and air. Her title is "Liberator". She is another one of the five original gods. Aura is one of the most mysterious gods, but is highly respected. Despite being rarely seen, her presence is always felt. When she is seen, she either communicates telepathically, or through a type of Altalian sign language. She is canonically demisexual.

Isagani - The god of success. Their title is "Provider". They are the god that others often seek out if they feel that they are going through a rough time in their life and want good luck. They often work closely with Kari, the two of them often being referred to as the Fortune Duo. They used to be very close to Lawrence, before he let his greed overtake him. They are canonically agender and pansexual.

Kari - The god of aid in dark times. Their title is "Server". They are regarded as the bringer of hope, and are visited when one has a problem that Isagani cannot solve or give advice for. Long ago, they helped to defeat a source of evil within Altalias, forcing him to reside within the far forests. This evil is rarely ever seen outside of them, mostly due to the humiliation he faced in his defeat. Kari is canonically agender and demiromantic.

Aadhya - The god of competition. Her title is "Lady". Aadhya often works with Lawrence, Ferphasia, Juliette, Melody, and Clae to put on festivals or competitions within Altalias. She is very competitive, and often wins the most during said contests. She is canonically heterosexual.

Chloe - The god of childbirth and family. Her title is "Accoucheuse". She is one of the first five gods. She is extremely kind, and works with Ferphasia in a sort of store that has a variety of goods one might need (these include food, clothing, and charms). She was also one of the first to properly welcome Rafflesia to Altalias and make sure she felt at home. She is canonically pansexual.

Ferphasia - The god of gifts and hospitality. Her title is "Enchanter". She is kind of the Glinda the Good Witch of Altalias, with her foil being Jade. She has Chloe's kindness, but is more firm than her. She is also madly in love with Jade (who returns the feeling), but refuses to admit it. She is canonically lesbian.

Kenzo - The god of good health. His title is "Curer". If anyone in Altalias finds themselves with a physical ailment that they were not created with, they go to Kenzo. Nine times out of ten, he can either fully cure you or help you heal. However, as you'll see, this is not always the case. He is canonically gay.

Jade - The god of dark magic. Her title is "Witch". Jade is easily one of the most misunderstood in Altalias. She does not mean harm, but enjoys playing odd pranks on people, often involving rocks appearing in strange places. She is very close to Lawrence, as he is one of her only friends. She has a huge crush on Ferphasia, her rival, but refuses to admit it to anyone other than Hemlock, her brother. She is canonically lesbian.

Hemlock - The god of corruption. His title is "Master". He is one of the first five gods that came into existence with Altalias. He is the original source of evil in Altalias, and nobody but Jade gives him a chance to do anything. He mostly remains in the far forests, and is almost never seen in the town square. He hates Lawrence due to how egotistical he is, and Lawrence hates him because everyone else does. He will jump at the chance to leave his mark of evil anywhere, especially on a certain protagonist. He is canonically heterosexual.

Time - The embodiment of time itself. His name is his title, and if he catches you, there is nowhere you can run. He once was kind, just, and empathetic, but after being corrupted by Rafflesia, he is no longer so. She stole the only weapon he had, a sword, which allowed him to slightly mess with the natural order, and end the lives of people and things prematurely. Rafflesia didn't trust him to use it wisely after his drastic change. He has been trying to get it back ever since, unsuccessfully. He has lost a fight to Jade. He is canonically aroace.

Random Lore/Plot Details

Everyone born/created in the other world has powers, and is pretty much a god of some sort

They have a name and a title, but they most often go by their title

Some might have their title precede their name

They are allowed to create their name themselves, but often have their title bestowed upon them by another

It is unknown what would happen if an outsider stayed in the other world for a long period of time, perhaps they would remain the same, perhaps they would change, or die, or slowly gain god-like powers, or become a sort of powerless god themselves

Sacrifices increase the power the gods have, but most would rather avoid having to deal with murder and death

Despite being strong, the gods do not have the ability to leave their world, due to a lack of power

It is not yet known to the gods if sacrifices could remove this weakness, but one god in particular desires to be able to travel back and forth between two interconnected worlds

Gods of concepts have no human form to begin with, often just appearing as pillars of smoke, monsters, or strange inhuman spirits

The majority of them changed into humanoid forms (aside from Lawrence, who prefers his more humanoid form to begin with) upon noticing that Rafflesia had entered their world, in an attempt to make her more comfortable

Rafflesia has frequent nightmares

I could hear music playing in the distance. As I followed it, I found myself in a village square. The tune was upbeat, inviting, almost like it knew I had just arrived. Why would there be music playing now, of all times? A festival? I thought, What kind of festival would be on now specifically? Do they also celebrate a jazz festival? The music doesn’t sound like jazz. I nearly tripped over a tree root while lost in thought. Definitely not my proudest moment, I’m afraid.

“If you’re looking for something to do here, Dove, we have plenty of shops for you to look through. We accept any currency, and I’m sure you’ll find something that piques your interest!” “Great, thanks, Lawrence, I’ll be sure to check those out…” I muttered, drawing my hand back slowly. “Well, if you’re new here, you’ll definitely need a guide for the time being, and there’s nobody better than myself! So, Dove, got anything on your mind that you’d like to see? If you can think of it, we’ve probably got it!”

“Please, make yourself at home! Try some apple strudel, it’s fresh. I baked some bread rolls this morning, feel free to take as many as you’d like. Also, if you like tarts, there’s some blueberry ones over here and some pecan butter tarts here. Take as many as you’d like, free of charge.” My head spun at all of the offered dishes. I felt like I was in some sort of fairy tale, like if I ate anything I’d surely be trapped in this strange place, or worse. “Uhh, catch?” I asked, shrinking back from the plates full of heavenly sweets. “Hmm?” the woman asked, tilting her head, “Catch? Why would there be a catch?”

“You! You evil, disgusting, potion-brewing, manipulating, unorganized, witchy freak!” “You overly-peppy, cotton-brained, goody-two-shoes pushover!” “They’re in love,” Hemlock whispered to me. “It’s clear as day,” I replied.

I tugged at my blouse’s collar, already sweating. I hadn’t even been called in yet. I fiddled with my folder, praying I wouldn’ suddenly forget my name. Opening my file, I quickly checked the contents. My resume and reference letters were still there, thankfully. “Olivia?” I heard the secretary call. I got up and nervously approached him. I didn’t know why. That wasn’t my name. “They’re waiting for you in room 236, to your right.”

His blood covered the streets. You could see it for what felt like miles. Everyone knew what had happened to him, even if they hadn’t been in the town square that day. Those who had been there in the moment only had more of the spectacle to deal with. I had been there. I knew. The memory stained my mind as beautifully as his remains did against the stone. I hadn’t thought smoke to be so corporeal, but my darling had shown me his power and proved me wrong once again. He’d been slammed against the cobblestone and pinned there. The more he struggled, the tighter the grip became. When he cried out, he was lifted and smashed back down. Everyone had heard something crack and break. It was not enough. Smoky fingers moved from his throat to his chest and stomach. That was where they remained, until every drop of crimson essence had been wrung from his form. He was thrown against the ground once more, splashing in a puddle of blood and innards that had been grotesquely crushed and pulled apart. He wasn’t moving anymore. No part was lively, not even his eyes, which had been rolled back so far into his head that it was a miracle they hadn’t fallen in.

My body was rotting. The only things holding it together were the roots of a tree. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t breathe, I could barely think. As I creaked my head downward to look at myself, strung up like some sort of ornament, I noticed something funny about my arms. Where my veins of blueish purple once flowed, were strange green tracks. And they were moving. Wriggling. Almost…struggling to get out. And I could feel every bit of it.

An inky black soup. Gently churning, swirling smoothly, yet not bubbling. I dipped my toes in, and observed the gentle ripples. The urge to wade in and swim was too great not to resist. My clothes swirled around me. The feeling of the liquid was similar to water, but was more viscous. It made me a little uneasy, but the calm and whimsical nature of it only drew me in more. The overall experience reminded me of the black accidental keys on a piano. Paired with the right natural notes, the experience could either be in major or minor key. Everything was so visceral. A playful wave splashed over me, and I couldn’t help but laugh. Another splashed over my legs, and I continued. What I didn’t realize early enough was that the water was gradually becoming rougher, too choppy to properly swim in. That thought came far too late to help me. The liquid began to splash over me from all angles. I began to struggle to keep my head at the surface. The further I swam, the larger the waves became. Looking back at a wave half as large as I was tall, I began to swim faster. I needed to get away from it. I needed to stay afloat. Upon looking forward, I was met with a wave twice as large as I was. It crashed over me, and with a scream, I went under. I don’t remember whether or not I came back up.

in addition to harvey/two face (because he really was showstopper sawwy to the knights), but i reallyyyyy adore duela. not only was she hilarious, her character arc/development throughout the show was great. always enjoyed whenever she was on screen i was like omfgggg my bestie !!

where do i even begin......the one that sticks out in my little brain of mine is when harvey overdoses on his anxiety meds and meets face to face with harv/fugue!harvey. that was absolutely incredible and i replay that scene in my head like a rotisserie chicken bc those writers put their whole pussy into it

at first i was going to say duela and carrie because their dynamic was soooo much fun but after 1x13, harvey and duela pulled my heartstrings like damnnnnnn i did ackshully tear up at that monologue naurrr don't let my mutuals know that. honorable mention are the row siblings because WAHHHHHHH 🥺😭 they mean so much to me

i mentioned duela's development in my first answer and i am not very eloquent with words if we're being honest but the way that she gained a sense of purpose and wanting to actually help gotham through all the trials and tribulations that were thrown at her...really wish we got to see more of that

it's a toss up between "big dent energy" and "guess who rode of the bat wang" .....honestly anything that comes out of duela's mouth is funny as hell who let her be that way

hmmmmmmmmmmm my fave was def harvey being duela's dad. did i call it from a mile away? yes, but it was absolutely satisfying to be right. i actually cheered out loud and punched the air MWAHHH

gosh, when we finally got to see his whole entire face, that shit was absolutely terrifying in a good way. interesting way of how rebecca was the one to toss that acid on his face. sadly, as much as it was all scrumdillyumptious, two face had like a total of three minutes of screentime and we will more than likely never see him again....does anyone have james gunn's number i need to ask him for a favor,

im not following any of the cast and crew of gk pero i have seen some of their tweets and the level of dedication these people put into the show....anyways, everything was so well thought out,,,i nominate the bat cave that shit was really cool. loved the water concept since it wasn't done before in the dc universe

LOL ermmmm, *scratches neck* is this thing on.....NOT to be mean or anything but i wish there was more action. as much as i luv the pauses for breath, i also luvvv ffight sequences. also a part of me thinks the show dragged a little. i know it was only 13 episodes but 18 would've been better. and though i loved the funny bits, sometimes i wish the show took itself seriously. they tried to target to gen z but mannn, at times i had to kinda duck my head bc it was embarrassing and i'm not even gen z. idkk i cant be too harsh on the show bc they did what they could and i enjoyed it overall!!

where is the s2 blueprint ik they're sitting somewhere in the producers' houses....but yeah, i actually liked how gotham knights ended! it works well ffor a mini series. the ambiguity of it all is ripe with possibilities for the fans to gnaw on. turner being trained to become the next batman, the gotham knights putting their boots back on to save the city thinking turner is gone for good, harvey allowing harv to take over with the potential of becoming a major problem....tag me in any stories you write, you guys 👍🏽❤

Hello!!! Thanks for the tag!! <3 Didn't expect to be tagged to be honest but I'm glad I did get tagged! :D

Also I must say everyone who reblogged before me sounds like such cool people! :>

Last song: American Jesus by Bad Religion! At first I wanted to say a Bowie song because I was listening to it all day due to it having been his death anniversary but then my playlist thought to be like "I don't think so!" and played a different song I like. I am pretty much a person who listens to everything.

Favourite colour: Despite my layout having purple and blue as the primary colours, my favourite colours are yellow (especially the yellow daffodils have) and dark green! Obviously I also like my layout colours but I'd say green and yellow just feel so soothingly happy to me.

Last Book: I am currently reading Faust 1 by Goethe because my finals are creeping up and it's one of the books I may need for those lol. But I also enjoy the book quite a lot!

Last movie: The phantom of the opera! I watched it together with my mother one random evening last year and I haven't watched any movie since then. I do want to watch Nosferatu next, though!

Last TV show: My mother and I have started watching a lot of shows together (this includes DBDA but it was too gay to handle for her conservative mind and she noped out after the cat king was introduced) and the latest is "From" it's not really popular, I think, at least it doesn't have a lot of Fanfics but I did enjoy the first season. I am a little sceptical about how they always introduce a bunch of characters but I hope that they flesh them out! It does have sapphics though so that's a win.

Sweet/Spicy/Savoury: I do have a big sweet tooth but I think outside of snacks and chocolate I am more of a fan of spicy food? Like, if someone asked me whether I'd want a spicy or a sweet dish for dinner, Id probably be more inclined to choose the spicy one.

Last thing I searched online: I researched for a fanfic I want to write and so it's "Boarding schools in Edwardian Britain" (now take a big guess for which fandom!! It's so niche you will never figure it out /s)

Current Obsession: My obsession with Genshin and HSR is dying down quite a bit (let's face it, it's the fandom's fault) And now my focus is back on demons and Greek Mythology. I have the want to get into Athuriana literature as well but ugh I'm too busy for this. Outside of occultism and mythology, yeah, obviously DBDA. It hit me HARD and I'm not mad!!! ... Also my own OCs but that's something only I can fix.

Looking forward to: Graduation!! Yes, everyone is telling me that it only gets worse from now on (which,,, very promising btw) but I am so glad when I leave this school. At least at university I can choose a bit more of what I want to do. I am also gonna get a therapist which I am in dire need of and hopefully try to get gender affirming care at the end of the year. I already have a job lined up so the only other things I want to achieve this year is finishing up my driver's license and get the scholarship I applied for but that part is something I have no control over! Also, I might need to look out for apartments because of a reason surrounding my family situation but, well, I prefer living alone anyway. Just gotta see how I'm gonna support myself.

Ten people I'd like to know better: You know, I don't even know if I know the blog names of ten separate people or if they're even okay with me tagging them (what's the etiquette for that? I know that some other platforms were rather... nasty about it). So,,, if you come across this and you want to do this, I always like to read about other people's interests!! So pretend I tagged you, if we're mutuals or I follow you, I do know and like you, I am just an awkward person who doesn't know how to act with people :).

favourite colour: Red, like a deep luscious red that you know would taste good if you licked it. Don't act innocent, you know exactly what I mean by that. Red is a color that you just know tastes good.

last book: I am currently trying to read the Witcher series (per @lickthecowhappy's suggestion) so I am at the start of the Last Wish

last movie: Moana 2 (I have young kidsssss)

last TV show: My oldest is almost 10 which means she stays up late. Which also means I have so little time to watch adult things. So we've been watching the Office with her. I think I want to watch the Good Place with her next tho (I've never watched it!)

sweet/spicy/savoury: Sweet followed very, very closely by spicy. Habanero maple syrup is one of my favorite things on the planet.

last thing i searched online: How to explain a 10 year career hiatus in a cover letter (looking to return to work since having kids. It's been an interesting experience so far).

current obsession: Have not moved on from Good Omens, but recently realized that my obsession may be more in my own little connected universe of fics that I wrote rather than the actual canon at this point😳. I'm sure once we get that first glimpse of red and white hair that will change very quickly.

looking forward to: Going back to work and having a more established adult life again, honestly. I've been so lucky to be home with my kids while they are young, but I am ready. And figuring out how my newfound passion for writing is going to fit into that new life of mine. Another big year of change over here for me, and I am eagerly looking forward to how the growing pains are going to make way for something beautiful beyond.
