i have an ancient box camera from the late 40s. takes 120 film. Absolutely unfair good images out of this thing.

This is the 1940s equivalent of a disposable Kodak, it’s terrible but because modern film stock is so fucking good it just rips absolute ass. No I don’t have any pictures they’re scanning shut up.

I'm doing a translation right now so I found a great resource for Portuguese idioms.

It's really helpful and I was happy to have found it, that is, until I was searching for idioms with the word "cortar" (cut) and the following idiom showed up:

"A árvore, quando está a ser cortada, observa com tristeza que o cabo do machado é de madeira"

This literally translates to "The tree, as it is being cut, with sadness notices that the axe's handle is made of wood".

I am now depressed.

writing tip: don’t tell us your character’s backstory. don’t tell us what your character is thinking. don’t tell us what your character is doing. don’t tell us anything. the reader should simply look at a blank page and be suddenly overcome with emotion.
