How is hearing aid technology changing for better?
In the 80’s and 90’s, hearing aids were simple amplifiers and the comfort in listening while using hearing aids were limited, which almost made it impossible to use them in noisy situations. As years passed, technology in this field is constantly evolving and new technologies are being developed to make listening through hearing aids more comfortable and adaptable.
Today, you can get hearing aid customised according to your hearing loss and use them comfortably in noisy situations. Many premium hearing aids learn by themselves yes you heard it right, they do have artificial intelligence in them making them a mini-computer by themselves.
Tumblr media
Technological advancements in hearing aids India, now known as digital hearing aids, have helped millions of people rediscover the joy of hearing! Some of these include:
1)Wireless connectivity: Hearing aids these days are equipped with wireless connectivity which helps the user to connect hearing aids with their smart phones, TV etc. This helps in streaming sound directly into the hearing aid and the end user can listen at ease.
2)Rechargeable hearing aids: Gone are the days when the user has to worry about constantly changing batteries. Majority of the hearing aids today, come with rechargeable options and there are even portable chargers for hearing aids just like your air pods. How cool is that right?
3)Customized hearing aids (CICs): Customizations have gone to the next level now. Your audiologist would be able to find the right custom mould for your ears which makes the clarity of the sound via hearing aid better and improves wearing comfort exponentially. There are many hearing aid providers with 3D customization technologies which make it more accurate for an enjoyable hearing experience.
4)Artificial Intelligence: Majority of premium hearing aids come with artificial intelligence. This feature helps the hearing aid to analyse the listening environment of each user independently and suggest programs which gives better clarity according to the lifestyle of the user. Hence improving the listening experience in challenging environments.
5)Innovative and modern Digital Hearing Aid styles: With everything in the world becoming further compact, hearing aids today have become much sleeker, smaller, and smarter. Most of them are super light weight and comfortable to wear. You will even find a few models that are almost invisible to notice while giving you complete connectivity with the world around you.
6) Advancements in sound quality: Quality of sound in hearing aids have improved by leaps and bounds! It’s so much that many users find their hearing aids sound extremely natural. Digital signal processing time has reduced and quality has elevated to a great extent, which helps with better music perception and better noise reduction.
Let us look into some features in specific:
a) Digital feedback suppression: Olden times hearing aids used to make whistling sound if we touch the aid or if the hearing aid fit is compromised, but latest hearing aids come with powerful digital feedback suppression circuits making the whistling disappear which has improved the wearing comfort to a good extent.
b) Expansion: We are surrounded by a variety of soft noises like the AC hum, the fan sound etc. A person with normal hearing sensitivity has natural filters in his brain which helps in filtering out these soft unwanted sounds. Therefore, the latest hearing aids technology offers soft level noise reductions as well, which help in eliminating these unwanted sounds at hearing aid level itself which makes hearing through a hearing aid a more natural process.
c)Noise tracking: Digital hearing aids usually come with a mic, an amplifier, and a speaker. So which sounds are to be amplified and which ones are to be reduced is difficult for a hearing aids system to understand. Latest advancements in technology have helped in creating noise tracking algorithms in hearing aids. Also, many premium hearing aids can today detect environments like restaurants or a quiet room (with little to no background noise) and programs itself to improve speech recognition and reduce the background noise.
d) Hearing aids communication: Do you know our ear talk to each other? Yes, as the sound from our ears reaches our brainstem which is analysed and brain understands from which side the sound was louder and faster, this helps us in understanding direction from which the sound is coming. Much like this concept, today hearing aids also talk to each other. This helps the hearing aids to understand speech better even in the presence of background noise.
e) Microphone Directionality: This is one functionality which has seen the most amount of advancement. The hearing aid mic changes the sensitivity according to the listening environments and this helps in understanding speech in noisy situations. As explained before, premium hearing aids talk to each other and decide the directionality together, this helps in switching to the optimal microphone mode on each ear, so the strongest voice signal is clear without losing the ability to perceive the surroundings and other speakers. Some hearing aids have three microphones available where the third one sits inside the ear canal and helps in improving the naturalness of the sound.
f) A Hearing aid not only amplifies the sounds, but it also compresses the sounds if it is too loud. These compression circuits in hearing aids have advanced to such a large extent that most of the hearing aids have an extremely smooth reduction of sudden loud sounds (impulse sounds).
g) Compatibility with Hearing aid apps  : Majority of the hearing aids come with apps now and it has features like fall detection, find your hearing aids and some apps even helps in tracking the health status of the user like steps taken, sleep pattern etc.
We are going through an era where the hearing aids industry is witnessing advancements exponentially. These advancements have made hearing aids more accessible, customizable, and effective for individuals with various intensities and types of hearing loss.

I am going fucking insane do they make drivers ed intentionally brain melting??
Everytime i hear this mans voice i feel like im watching honey crystalize or paint dry or cheese Very Slowly grow moldy

i dont care if i have to go to a classroom just make me learn this in literally any other way than listening to this man reading aloud multiple choice questions from a weirdly formatted slideshow for 30 minutes straight with the crunchiest audio known to man
#i know online learning is probably cheaper#but do you want me to be good at driving or not??#this is kinda important#IF I HEAR THIS GUY GO#And#the correct answer is#C#ONE MORE TIME#vammieposts#i sit in apush lectures for forty minutes everyday and im able to focus#clearly theres a wY to do this so its not so dull#JUST STOP WITH THE MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESITONS I BEF#like who decided this was a good idea?? multiple choice stuff is so repetitibe it all blends togther#and now i remember the wrong answers more often than the cofrect answers!’#drivers ed#i have 25 more hours of this i really dont think i can handle it#yes im overreacting but i cant do busywork i cant focus on dull things i really want to learn this and its not being taught well and that#upsets me a lot#its so so frustrating when theres an easy solution to bad systems and formats#and people dont see it??#it upsets me that so many things are being switched to online when that more often than not makes it MORE difficult??#my schools digital hallpass things??#unique apps to pay for parking in each coty??#digital doesnt automaticaly meant more efficient or convinient#its helpful in some areas#and much worse in others#this drivers ed is the worse end of the spectrum#because instead of being like oh heres the slideshow read it and take the test#it gives you a specific amount of hours you have to spend watching videos#i could just walk away and let the bideo play! like how does that prove that i know anything thats being tuaght??

I was going to say I was happy I did all my schooling/degrees before the propagation of AI because now all the teachers and professors are going to be going back to writing exams and tests by hand due to the high potential for cheating, but then I remembered I’m old and in my decades of schooling the only times I was ever allowed to use a computer for any of my tests were during the COVID years. Everything else I did write by hand, and my professors and teachers despaired because my actual handwriting was and continues to be horrible.

Man the average right leaning person really is just the most gullable people like shit some times I forget how stupid some people can be and then they open their mouths and start talking about aliens and demons on planes after watching some video online of some lady going crazy on a plane talking bout a passenger being not real like the woman was probably haveing a mental break and y’all are really out here talking bout demonic fucking possession of the person who is being screamed at by someone clearly having a break from reality shits crazy
#like could there be life on other planets sure is that what’s happening here no y’all realize than when ever our government is about to try#to mobilize our military that we always see an uptick in supposed ufo sitings because ya know they are trying to distract the populous#like do the reading and you see that at almost every major uptick in ufo mania that it corrosponds with the beginning of a major military#action or something else that the government doesn’t want the average person focused on#also most ufos or UAPs as they are now called are just classified testing of aircraft or weapons systems or they are actually weather#phenomena cause natures fucking stranger than fiction sometimes#the likelihood of any ufo or uap sightings being actually extra terrestrial is slim to none#coming from a military family who actually where aerospace engineers who helped to develop some of those super secret weapons and planes#the government ain’t smart enough or well organized enough to hide something that big that convincingly for this long#some of the people at my place of employment are gullible idiots who believe anything they see online because they don’t have experience#with things or people who are actually involved in the things they are talking about#also those hearings that congress had were not interviewing the people who claimed to have seen uaps no they were interviewing people who#claimed to have interviewed people who had seen them as in they didn’t actually have any evidence#it’s like if I someone who has worked with the parks system interview someone who claims to have seen Bigfoot and then testified infront of#congress to the fact that this person told me they had seen Bigfoot it doesn’t actually prove that Bigfoot exists

OMGGGGGGG I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS ONE EITHER AND I'M SO MAD AT MYSELF FOR THIS
I'm the sweetest girl in town; so why are you so mean? Nina 'the Killer' Hopkins in Creeped PT 2: PURPOSE
Tumblr media
PT. 1: K-12 — PT. 3: NEW MESSAGE
General disclaimer: This AU is an amalgamation of headcanons, fanon, canon, and the occasional rewrite. There is an overarching story that HEAVILY strays from their canon stories. TW for toxic relationships, murder, violence and self-harm. Please take care of yourself and only engage in content you can handle.
PURPOSE
❥After Nina attacked Claudia, she was forced back online. Back to her recluse lifestyle, hiding away from everyone she could. She didn’t want to be seen anymore. Having her social life torn away from her once again hurt. Watching her father’s face morph into disappointment in her high school’s office hurt. Receiving hateful messages from peers again hurt.
❥Her online friends were still there, thankfully. It was interesting, actually, the news they bought her. The same day she attacked Claudia, there was a brand new true crime case. She huddled beneath her blanket and called them for comfort. She stayed up until 5am researching this case, listening to her friends jokingly say that the case could’ve been Nina's crime. It happened the same day, right?
❥His name was Jeffery Alan Woods. She was 16 now, and he was a year younger than her. New information was still unfolding as the weeks went by, but this 15 year old boy really fought back. She sympathized with him upon learning about his story. He was troubled and bullied like her. He just wanted to be happy too, right? Live a good life with his brother, have fun at school, make friends. But boys at his school bullied him for it. It wasn’t fair at all to him.
❥Nina really could have been him. She watched hours of interviews, scoffing at everyone who implied he was evil. He was defending himself. Why didn’t they help him when they could have? If they stepped in, he wouldn’t have had to go so far in protecting himself. He had to do it. They failed him. Just like everyone failed Nina.
❥Nina found Facebooks, Instagrams, and even year books. She spent days scouring the internet, compiling every possible photo she could find of Jeff. He was such a cute kid, she thought! He seemed so sweet in his 2009 Christmas photo, sitting politely with Santa. She saw his older brother, Liu, in several photos. She began researching Liu obsessively too, but he was often kept on the backburner. His interviews were few and far between, as he tried to fade into obscurity. His rare public appearances always mentioned forgiveness. Liu seemed to be the only one who saw humanity left in Jeff, just like Nina did. Why did everyone have to turn him into such a monster?
❥Nina was able to find Liu’s address in a matter of days. Now she wanted to find Jeff.
❥She was thrilled everytime a new murder happened. Whenever it was traced back to Jeff, she was overjoyed. Criminal sketches began getting released, and Nina hung them all on her wall. God, the smile was cute. And it was fun! He was just as eccentric as her. She began drawing the smile on her face with makeup, sending it to her online friends and posting selfies on the internet. She received a whole slew of hate comments demeaning her for idolizing this killer, but they didn’t understand his story like she did.
❥Her mental health deteriorated rapidly. She did the bare minimum to scrape by in school. She never left her room, save for a shower once a week. Christopher brought meals to her, even if his little hands had to cook them himself. He didn’t like being in Nina’s room, really. The photos of Jeff littered the walls and the floor was filled with clothes and empty bottles. Regrettably, Christopher stumbled upon some photos of crime scenes which left him with nightmares.
❥Nina wouldn’t even look at him when he brought her dinner. Her bloodshot eyes were glued to her screen, cackling away at forums about Jeff, or curled up sobbing and begging Christopher to get the fuck out of her room.
❥Nina took one of her weekly showers halfway through her senior year. She was in there for so long, and the shower had long been turned off. Christopher needed to use the bathroom. First, it was a timid little knock, asking if she was almost done. She said to wait, so he did. He asked again, and she said to wait. It happened again and again until he was banging on the door, whining and telling her to get out of the bathroom. She was being so annoying, always doing her makeup for hours at a time.
❥That’s what he figured, at least. He didn’t think anything of grabbing his mom’s card and using it to unlock the door, just like he’d done several times before when Nina was hogging the bathroom.
❥He screamed at the sight. Nina sat on the edge of the bathtub. She was in her underwear, blood smeared all over her figure. Her biceps, stomach, and thighs were littered with hundreds of shallow, messy wounds. Nina threw her head up, big doe eyes widened in horror. Similar to the shallow cuts across her body, there were jagged scars across her cheeks. Blood bubbled and rolled off her chin, mixing with tears and snot. A foul smell came from her before he realized she had repeatedly thrown up into the tub.
❥"GET THE FUCK OUT" was all she could manage, but Christophers cries brought him to his mother’s room. Nina desperately threw back on her pajamas, rushing to turn on the shower and make up any excuse she could.
❥There wasn’t really a defense for any of this.
MISSISSIPPI
❥February 13, 2015 Nina was sent to her grandparents home in Mississippi. It was her 17th birthday, right before her graduation. Her grandparents were retired and strict. Unlike her parents, they had all the time in the world to focus on Nina. They heavily monitored everything she did. Kept track of her location, her card, her friends. Made sure she put vitamin E oil on her scars and concealer before going out. They made her get a job working with their friend’s niece. Nina didn’t connect to anyone. She simply filed in and out of work and school, finishing up whatever had to be done and barely scraping by at graduation.
❥ Her grandparents barely permitted a gap year, but she began working full time. She got better at putting on a clean, sweet persona for them. She’d often come home and ramble to her grandparents about work, receiving firm advice to stay away from anyone causing Nina trouble.
❥They couldn’t monitor her internet access the same way, though. Nina spent the next year obsessively researching Jeff all the same, but she kept it all contained to her laptop. Hundreds of hours of information compiled into thousands of different files. She had grown quite notorious in true crime communities, with her username being littered about several forums. ‘Nina the Killer’ was a silly but fitting screen name.
❥She grew incredibly close to new people, all of which just as infatuated with Jeff. They all shared similar stories of being beaten and bruised their entire life, constantly daydreaming to exhibit the strength Jeff did that fatal day. Nina felt seen, for once.
❥There was an especially interesting guy online. He went by Mark, and would email Nina very often, always asking her about her thoughts on Jeff’s latest move. Asked Nina for advice on how to kill his parents, too. She’d ramble on about several methods, and would completely melt when he praised her creativity. How sweet. He even spent time encouraging Nina’s curiosity on Liu, someone the community often disregarded. But Nina was fixated on him as well, just to a lesser extent. It felt so good to have someone care about her interests like that. Someone who engaged and encouraged her morbid thoughts.
❥A year went by. Her grandparents were so proud of her, genuinely believing she was getting better. They gave her a beautiful 18th birthday party, and quickly began registering her for their local community college. They wanted to keep her on this great path.
❥Before she could even select classes, Mark messaged her with a new rumor. Jeff was allegedly in Alabama. Only a state away from her.
❥It was crazy, and it was unrealistic, and she should have dropped it. There was no fucking shot she’d meet him, right? But…
❥Nina Hopkins was pathetic. She rummaged through her grandparents' belongings one night, grateful for their poor hearing. She stuffed everything she could into a few massive suitcases, including her grandparents' cash. After withdrawing all her savings, she hopped on a train.
COINS
❥Nina stayed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She began working two jobs, waiting tables at a dingy little restaurant and at a Hot Topic in the local mall. It was difficult for a while, staying in dingy motels before she could finally find a cheap apartment to rent.
❥She got along with most of the people she worked with now. The year with her grandparents genuinely helped with her rapidly deteriorating social skills, and it seemed everyone liked Nina’s spunk. She was chatty, sweet, and very pretty. Tips always found their way tucked into her back pocket.
❥Her favorite coworker was a girl named Natalie. Natalie was the opposite of Nina. Tall, lanky, with long straight hair and a mean expression. She knew how to stand up for herself from the start. Natalie didn’t let her anger boil over until she made horrible decisions, not like Nina. The speed at which Natalie would get difficult customers off Nina’s back was startling. She was protective over all the girls in the restaurant, but especially little Nina.
❥Natalie was an odd one, too. Nina could tell. She saw tiny scars littered on Natalie’s cheeks, always covered with foundation, but never fully hiding them away. She usually wore a medical eyepatch over one eye. This only drew Nina to her all the more, until they eventually began getting lunch together every now and again. Nina was 19 by then.
❥Nina would nonsensically ramble about this boy she met online, earning a raised brow from Natalie.
❥It was the same guy she met on a forum about Jeff the Killer, Mark. The one who always came to Nina for a hypothetical murder method. The one who shared gross, gorey images that he ‘found online.’ The one who told her that Jeff was in Alabama. Recently, Nina had been making plans to meet Mark. She shared this with Natalie.
❥But Nina had no clue Natalie knew Jeff. They were quite close, actually, living in the same damn abandoned farmhouse. Natalie caught lazy glances at Jeff’s phone, and she was quick to connect the dots.
❥”Don’t fucking meet him. You’re being stupid.” Natalie was blunt, as usual.
❥”You’re so dramatic, oh my god. It’s not like I-”
❥”I said don’t.” Natalie was insistent. Nina never listened to good advice.

In July, the bird flu spread from dairies in Colorado to poultry farms. To contain it, two poultry operations employed about 650 temporary workers — Spanish-speaking immigrants as young as 15 — to cull flocks. Inside hot barns, they caught infected birds, gassed them with carbon dioxide, and disposed of the carcasses. Many did the hazardous job without goggles, face masks, and gloves. By the time Colorado’s health department asked if workers felt sick, five women and four men had been infected. They all had red, swollen eyes — conjunctivitis — and several had such symptoms as fevers, body aches, and nausea. State health departments posted online notices offering farms protective gear, but dairy workers in several states told KFF Health News that they had none. They also hadn’t heard about the bird flu, never mind tests for it. [...] Farmworker advocates also pressed the CDC for money to offset workers’ financial concerns about testing, including paying for medical care, sick leave, and the risk of being fired. This amounted to an offer of $75 each. “Outreach is clearly not a huge priority,” Boggess said. “I hear over and over from workers, ‘The cows are more valuable than us.’”

Tumblr media
"Okay be honest, who else went on a deep dive of doom last night and watched all of Blackbox's previous interviews?" Madelyn turns from her place in the passenger seat, facing you, Madison and Chase so you can hear her question clearly.
All hands go up. The anticipation is high and circling in the car. Today the cast has split up into two cars as you're being shipped off to another studio to record an interview with Blackbox.
"Some of those questions were brutal, and you're hooked up to a lie detector so there's no chance you can avoid the truth." Chase lets out a weighted breath, his mind running off with the possible questions they could ask. There's a small sprout of fear blossoming around the possibility they'll pry open closed doors about his and Madelyn's break up.
The concept is simple: Prior to the interview, Blackbox has done their own research and collected some surface-level, intermediate, and mildly invasive questions that the fans of the show are circulating online. One by one, the cast will sit in the empty black room with no one but the polygrapher and a lie detector, the questions get asked and if you're telling the truth you get a point, if you're lying you lose a point.
The castmate with the most points at the end gets to ask any co-star any question of their choice.
"I can't believe I let Madison drag me into this." You scoff and all she does is smile bright and innocent. It took some convincing of the producers but she's very persuasive when she needs to be.
"We're family now. If we go down, so do you." Chase holds your hand and gives it a condescending squeeze. "I take that as a threat." You snatch your hand away and everyone laughs.
As you arrived, it seems the car with Carlacia, Drew and JD had beat you guys there. Their driver was already pulling off the lot, telling you the others were inside. You got out of the car behind Chase and adjusted your clothes.
Today, your stylists had picked out a white long-sleeve shirt layered under a sleek black vest, paired with a gray mini skirt, black sheer tights, a small shoulder bag, delicate gold acccesories, and a sleek pulled-back pony-tail for a perfectly polished look.
You could already hear the chatter from the studio from out in the hall as you entered the room behind Madison, more chatter erupting as the full cast is reunited. You did your rounds to greet the others you hadn't been riding with. "You look great," Drew compliments as he briefly rests his head atop yours during your hug. You fit in his arms as perfectly as a puzzle.
His pathetic instincts allowed him to take a deeper breath to get a stronger pull of your gentle perfume that intoxicated his mind. "I don't remember getting a compliment from you this morning!" Carlacia accuses him playfully and he laughs along before flattering her endlessly and you thought it was cute.
There’s no denying it. From the very beginning, you and Drew have danced around the unspoken tension, the sparks that have lingered just beneath the surface. But lately, those sparks have started to feel dangerous, like a fuse waiting to ignite. The two of you can’t be left alone for long—what starts as two chairs between you inevitably narrows to one, and then, before you realize it, none at all.
One second you're both rehearsing lines in the studio-b trailer and the next you're passed out on the couch side-by-side. Even though that only happened once, it was more than enough. You've blown through nearly two-thirds of filming the final season and it was easy to consider Drew one of your closest friends, both on and off-set.
There were late-night phone calls, early morning face-times, minimal texting since he hardly replied to his messages but lots of heated glances that shouldn't make you feel as hot as they did. Like right now.
Madelyn is currently removing a piece of lint that had fallen onto your hair from god knows where, meanwhile, you pretended you couldn't feel Drew's deep gaze from behind Madelyn's head, but you shook it off. You had to.
It wasn't long before you're all being ushered to take your seats in the black room, getting ready to record your introduction which will be the only time the whole cast is in the black room together for the interview.
"We're the cast of Outer Banks and welcome to Blackbox." You all say, introducing yourselves personally then retreating to the holding room where there are five chairs, a one-way glass looking into the black room and a microphone.
The assistants spun a wheel which decided that JD is the first one up on the chopping block. "Keep the questions pg-13, please. I've got family that's gonna see this." He pleads, letting himself be strapped into the chair and hooked up with the various components of the detector. Meanwhile, you took the seat in the holding room between Carlacia and Drew.
"So he really can't see us?" Madelyn questioned, waving to JD through the window, but he was unresponsive. "All he sees is a mirror, but when you use the microphone, he can hear your voice in the speakers in the room." One of the cameramen explains and you all nod along.
"Okay, Madelyn, you're first to read the questions. Pick up one cue card from the surface-level, intermediate and invasive stack and project your voice into the mic." She's directed but you all listen for when it's your turn.
Madelyn: "JD, What's your favourite memory from filming season 5 Outer Banks so far?"
He jolts a little in his seat, not expecting to hear Madelyn's voice so clearly in a room where he can't see her, but he answers nonetheless.
JD: When Chase and I were rehearsing that scene where we have to hang-glide off a cliff but Chase's hands slipped and he misses the bar, and he just goes falling to the foam platform like twenty feet below us, but it wasn't even that. It was the scream he let out. I still think about it.
"He's telling the truth." The woman informs.
Chase has his head in his hands while you and Carlacia hold onto eachother, laughing until you're gasping for air.
Madelyn picks up the top cue card from the intermediate pile.
Madelyn: Which castmate are you closest to?
"Oooh." There's a collective sound that sweeps across the studio, it made everyone uneasy, not because of the question. It's a difficult question and everyone knows there are no hard feelings involved but if this is an intermediate question then you should all be nervous.
JD sighs, "You know what-- Unstrap me." He pretends to grab at the wires and it elicits a round of laughs while he thinks about it.
JD: This is hard. I feel like I have such a different relationship with everyone, but..... uhhh... If I had to narrow it down, I guess probably Madelyn.
There's a long silence, everyone waiting for the polygrapher to confirm or deny. "He's telling the truth."
Madelyn: "It must be fate that I'm the one asking your questions. Luv ya. Now, for your final, invasive question. You recently implied in an interview that you're seeing someone, is that true?"
Your hands clasp over your mouth. "Brutal," Carlacia whispers under her breath while you and Drew lean over the edge of your seats as if you didn't already know the answer to this question.
"No." He denies it, another stomach-churning silence. You can see the nerves rolling down JD's face as he waits for the results. "That was a lie." The crew is making some indistinct noise while the cast is stunned to silence. None of you were going to make it out of this interview alive.
JD's head falls with a guilty grin, dreading the news this would spread in the press. He almost immediately unlatches himself from the machine and enters the waiting room with the rest of you, sending in Chase.
"That shit is intense. It's just so dark, and ominous, and you've got a spotlight on you. Makes you feel like you're on trial for a crime you didn't commit." Drew stands to give him a pat on the back, "You did good, man. Hopefully Maya isn't too blindsided by that last question."
Maya is JD's secret girlfriend, official as of last month, you've met her a handful of times but you clicked almost instantly and often texted on Instagram and shared reels.
The game went on, and the questions didn't get any easier. You watched as you all trickled in and out of the rooms, getting paired off in an order something like this:
Madelyn asking JD
Drew asking Chase
Carlacia asking Madelyn
Chase asking Y/N
Y/N asking Madison
Madison asking Carlacia
JD asking Drew
There's an acrylic nail poking your shoulder and you shudder. "You're up," Carlacia informs you and you nearly vomit. The questions have been ruthless thus far, you honestly wonder how and why the producers approved this.
"Hey Madison, this is for you." You hold up your middle fingers, regretting ever letting her get you involved in this bloodbath. She blows you a kiss and wishes you luck.
Chase: "Y/n-"
You're not sure what it is about it, but you and Chase have had enough bloopers on set, that this felt no different, even though you couldn't see him, you broke out in laughter. Before the mic cut out you heard Chase's abrupt laughter cut through.
This is how you two always were. Unable to keep it together. The directors hated when you had a scene together (even though they'd laugh too). "Okay okay, I'm sorry. I'm ready." You reassure, "That was a lie", The polygrapher debunks your confession and it sends everyone rolling for another five minutes due to its spontaneity.
"Okay. For real this time." You clear your throat, waiting for Chase to start with the questions.
Chase: "If you weren’t acting, what would your job be?"
"Ooh, I love photography, my phone is always gonna be in your face, and I've got like a dozen cameras. So, probably a photographer." You answer. The question is light, but it doesn't erase the uneasy feeling bubbling in your stomach. "True."
Chase prepares to move on to the intermediate stack of cards, shuffling them, just for fun.
"Here we go," Madison leans over to JD, they both knew there were bound to be some wild cards for you and Drew. Ever since your casting as Piper was made public not too long ago, the fans immediately flocked to find all your socials.
The rumours between you and Drew were already starting to spin. All stemming from one photo added to one of Carlacia's many photo dumps a few weeks ago. The image is of you playfully feeding Drew a strawberry from when you'd all done some sightseeing and visited the local Portuguese farms.
Chase: "Fans noticed you recently reposted a TikTok that said, 'When he’s tall enough to climb like a tree>>'—was that just for laughs, or did you have someone in mind?"
Your hands raise to your face and you scream, Madison screams, JD laughs, Madelyn kicks her feet while Carlacia gasps--Simply put, the cast is overcome.
Drew straightens a little, now more intrigued than ever (as if he wasn't before). His eyes sparkle with hope? Interest? Certainty. A subtle wave of confidence runs down his spine as he confirms to himself that you're talking about him. You both know it, and you've never been so glad that you couldn't see his face.
"My TikTok account is private how did they even-?!"
Chase: "Answer the question Ms. Y/n."
You could hear his smirk through the mic. Oh, he was enjoying this too much. You made a mental reminder to send Kelsea all the worst images that you've taken of him. "It was just for fun," you shrug.
"That was a lie", You knew it was coming, honestly, but at least you tried.
Chase: "You've recently been cast as the lead in a new rom-com called The Love Equation set to release in 2026, congratulations."
Chase prefaces the question with the recent news that was unveiled to the public merely a few days ago. It was a very recent endeavour of yours.
Not long after you started filming for Outer Banks, you'd received a call back from this project and filming was set to start a little after the OBX premiere which is a little less than three months away.
"Thank you, thank you. I'm very excited and grateful for the opportunity." You say, pretending you weren't dreading the question that's soon to follow. Chase's flattery made you nervous, regardless if he was just reading what was on the card.
Chase: If you could pick any castmate to star alongside you in a rom-com, who would you pick?"
Drew's jaw locks at the question. His grip on the arm of the chair tightens subconsciously as he watches your every move. From the way you looked up at the ceiling, pretending to think to your left foot pacing an unsteady rhythm.
All while Madison was watching Drew, a small smile creeping up on her lips. She needed no further confirmation from the two of you, your body language was loud enough. To her, at least.
"Drew." You say nothing more, nothing less. You don't want to fan the flames that fans have already sparked to life from a simple picture. "She's telling the truth." Yeah, obviously, but you don't say that out loud.
The time seems to fly now that your turn had passed and finally, it's Drew's turn. Deep down you've been waiting for this all day, but if you're being honest, you're a little scared for him.
Drew has one of the biggest and most blunt fanbases of the cast. You've seen how they can get sometimes, you've read the TikTok comments and seen the X threads. Hopefully, nothing gets taken out of context or blown out of proportion.
JD: "What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day of filming?"
His lips pucker a little in thought, and it dawned on him. "I recently got gifted like, an ungodly amount of bubble bath, but I've actually been using them lately. So, I'll say a nice, hot bath, yeah."
The polygrapher confirms that his statement is in fact true and the round progresses.
JD: "If you had to be stuck on an island with one of your castmates for 24 hours, who would you pick—and what would you two do to pass the time?"
Drew fights the grin on his face, "I'd say Chase, we would go hang-gliding-" He's hardly able to get the sentence out before he's interrupted by his own cackles.
Chase adds his own thoughts into the mic, "You know what, Drew, fuck you, okay?" Chase states before returning to his seat while Drew chokes over his laughs to deliver an insincere apology. "That was true." The room erupts with more laughter at that.
JD: "Your final, invasive question, have you ever secretly dated or hooked up with someone from a movie/show you've worked on, including this one?"
The entire studio goes pin-drop silent. Madison's hand reaches out to hold yours, for comfort, or maybe support? Your eyes are glued to the window that shows a nervous Drew, the most nervous you'd ever seen him. He's starting to sweat.
The two of you have never hooked up, but now you're curious. You would get to find out if he's gotten involved with other girls he's worked with before. Was everything he did just an act? Was it a thing he did with everyone?
"I have not." He answers.
There's silence.
The polygrapher is doing it on purpose, you're sure of it.
...
....
........
JD turns around to face you all and whispers, "Guys, I'm literally shaking for him. Look!" He held out his hand with the card, and it showed a true reflection of his words.
"That is..." She drags out the verdict.
The anticipation got so bad you've all somehow ended up standing, you all might as well press your noses up against the glass.
"True."
The cheering is loud when it swallows the holding room. It's almost shameful how much of a weight you felt lifted off your shoulders at the declaration. Drew is the only one to have told the truth for all three questions, giving him 3 points. He wins.
"Now, Drew. You get to ask any co-star any question you'd like." One of the crewmates instructs as they had you all lined up in the room under Drew's judgement. He stalked along, looking everyone in the eyes, yours lasted a little longer than he was willing to admit but he eventually stopped on Madison.
"Madison, Madison, Madison." Drew taunted in the mic and she rolled her eyes with an all-knowing grin.
Drew: "Not too long ago you were disrespecting my childhood delicacy, the uncrustable. Now, there are rumours going around that you've been seen with them lately, is it true?"
Small giggles were let out around the room. Drew is unbelievable.
"Yes." Madison whispers, looking off to the side.
Drew: What was that? I'll need you to speak up.
Madison: Yes! It's true. Satisfied?
Drew: Very. No further questions, your honour.
You all film the closing sequence, reminding the audience the final season will be released on Netflix on August 30th and September 25th, 2025.
You're all making your way out to the cars. The original groups naturally switched up as you all jumped into the car with people you were in conversations with as you left the studio. This time it's you, Drew, JD and Madelyn.
"Wow, that was lowkey worse than I thought it was going to be." JD admits from the passenger seat and you snicker. Without even realizing it, your head was laying on Drew's shoulder, feeling the sleepiness begin to settle in after an eventful afternoon.
"All that drama genuinely drained the energy from my body." You yawn, and Drew subtly shifts so that you'd find more comfort in him, and you snuggle up just a little more. This is a feeling he could get used to.

SUMMARY: Your boyfriend just returned from a Triple Header, and after weeks apart, all you wanted was some attention and affection. But he, on the other hand, seemed more interested in his online games than spending time with you. NOTES: English is not my first language, so there might be some writing mistakes. I apologize for that, and feel free to point out any improvements. PAIRING: Lando Norris x Reader! Girlfriend. WARNING: cockwarming and explicit scenes. WC: 0.9k
MASTERLIST | THE (IM)PERFECT PLAN SERIE
It had been weeks since you and Lando had a decent moment together. Between the chaos of a Triple Header and endless traveling, he was finally back home after more than three weeks away. You'd spent days envisioning this reunion: a cozy couch, a romantic movie, maybe a few glasses of wine, and, hopefully, something… more intimate.
But, of course, Lando had other plans—plans that involved a computer, headphones, and loud laughter with Max during a gaming livestream. He was sunk into his gaming chair, fully absorbed, while you were sprawled out on the living room couch, pretending to care about some random TV show.
Not that you wanted to be that girlfriend who complained about her boyfriend’s hobbies. You knew gaming was Lando’s way of unwinding, something he genuinely enjoyed. But… would it kill him to give you a little attention after you’d spent weeks counting down the days until he got back? You had spent a few hours together earlier in the day, but apparently, for him, that was more than enough. For you? Not even close.
Taking a deep breath, you decided it was time to do something about it.
You got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. Opening the fridge to grab a can of soda, you could still hear Lando and Max’s laughter echoing through the house. They were debating something about “that camper guy in the middle of the map”—whatever that meant. You rolled your eyes with a small smile. Men.
Back in the living room, you stopped at the doorway to Lando’s gaming setup.
“Babe?” you called out sweetly, hoping that would be enough to get his attention.
Nothing. He raised a hand in a “one-minute” gesture without even glancing away from the screen.
Okay. So he wasn’t going to make this easy.
You climbed onto Lando’s lap, sitting face-to-face with him, wrapping your arms loosely around his waist. It was the perfect position—not just to be close but also to stir up a little mischief.
“Lando, I missed you…” you murmured, drawing out the words as you shifted ever so slightly on his lap. The movement seemed innocent enough, but both of you knew it wasn’t.
He took one hand off the keyboard and placed it firmly on your waist, halting your motions.
“I missed you too, love,” he replied, trying to keep his focus on the screen. “But please, stay still, alright?”
“Okay!” you chirped with mock obedience, which he clearly picked up on but chose to ignore.
You managed to behave… for about three minutes. Then, you started shifting again, sliding gently against him, testing his patience.
“Y/N…” His tone was firm, though you caught the trace of amusement at the end. “If you don’t stop, I’m going to move you.”
“But I just want to spend time with you, please!” you pouted playfully, resting your head on his shoulder and inhaling his familiar, comforting scent.
Lando sighed deeply, as if gathering every ounce of his self-control.
“Then behave,” he said, his voice dropping slightly, though still laced with warning.
Of course, you ignored him. You leaned in closer, leaving a trail of kisses down his neck while continuing your teasing movements, this time more deliberately.
“Y/N…” he started, but his voice sounded different now—lower, drawn out, almost like a groan. “What are you trying to do?”
You smiled against his skin, thrilled by how easily you could make him unravel.
“Nothing… I’m just enjoying my boyfriend, who I missed so much,” you replied with a playful edge, feigning innocence while keeping up your game.
Lando shut his eyes briefly, clearly trying not to lose control.
“You’re impossible, you know that?” he said, finally abandoning the keyboard and turning all his attention to you.
His hands slid to your waist, and in one swift move, he lifted your skirt and pushed your underwear to the side. When his fingers brushed against your heat, he immediately noticed the state you were in.
“So desperate already, huh?” he asked with a smirk. “Three weeks apart, and you turn into a needy little thing.”
“Lan,” you whimpered, his name slipping out like a plea. “I need you.”
“I’ll let you have a little fun,” he said, his tone almost mocking. “But only if you behave and don’t move.” He began lowering his shorts and boxers, freeing himself. “When I’m done with this game, I promise you’ll get all the attention you’re craving. Got it?”
“Okay, I promise I’ll stay still,” you breathed out, far too needy to argue.
Lando positioned himself at your entrance, easing into you slowly. The moment he was fully inside, you couldn’t suppress the moan that escaped your lips.
“Now you’re going to have to stay quiet,” he instructed, his voice firm as his eyes flicked back to the screen. “I’m hopping back on with the guys.”
You nodded, too full of him to form a coherent reply.
“Sorry, guys,” Lando said into the mic, sounding casual despite the situation. “Y/N just needed some help with something.”
And so the match went on, with you obediently staying still for once, too desperate for the attention he promised to risk disobeying.
