Sorry more banana fish hater posting but literally worst choice known to man to set it in a modern setting. Not only does it completely destroy the technology limitations that did make the original both dated but kind of timeless (in terms of not using fucking smart phones?!?!) But it also really changes a lot of the racism that's depicted in there in a much more nefarious way. Skips death would have a lot different context in NYC 1980s compared to NYC 2018. Not even to get into how it point blank ruins many of the plot points and choosing to make it modern and make the war Griff fought in be in IRAQ. Instead of Vietnam like .. it's just so fucking bad it's insane I don't understand how anyone thought this was a good idea. One of the only good things Abt the manga IS its setting, and to make this change is really just screwing everything up to put it very lightly. All of the stuff that made sense socially (ie the homophobia, actions of the police etc) in the 80s setting make NONE in a modern setting.

Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

I actually fucking finished a mesh edit!!!!! Well, at least the meshing part. This thing has parts from three different sword meshes. Tomorrow it's on to texturing hell. I've never textured anything before in my LIFE, and I just know it's going to be miserable, lmao.

Especially since I assume I'm going to have to make a new uv map and I don't know shit about that. But I at the very least need a texture for renders, and this sword is low-poly enough that I could probably make it an in-game accessory too.

Maybe you got this answer already but I think my absolute #1 pick would be the "Interview with the Vampire" series (from amc).

Quotes such as: "I wanted him dead, I wanted him all to myself", "I laid down with a man. I laid down with the devil. And he has roots in me." and "A veil will now forever separate our union, but it is a thin veil and I'm always on the other side, face pressed up against your longing" have such an insane Lucemond weight to me.

Louis and Lestat reflect a lot of what I personally see in Lucemond (in my head lmao), and is a fantastic show. I think if you like Lucemond you would like it for sure.

Saltburn would also be a really good movie with the same type of feeling in the main relationship. But, with Ewan appearing in it, I assume almost everyone in the fandom has watched it. God tier Lucemond levels of obsession in it.

Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, both book and movie. Something so Aemond about Coriolanus' grandiose, self-serving, i'm-better-than-everyone pov. His fixation with Lucy (😏😏) and his perspective of romantic feelings as a weakness. Main song of the movie, "Cant catch me now" also is such a Lucemond vibe.

Also, not a show/movie, but I would say the "Captive Prince" book trilogy has the "enemies to lovers" thrope dooown. Where they actually hate one another and most of their own interests are conditioned on the other dying. The enemies are real enemies and it builds from there, which is what I prefer for Luke and Aemond as well.
