I created a WoF OC bingo chart! Because I've managed a ton of WoF RPs and I've picked up on a looot of patterns. Feel free to use this!
Not making fun of any of these tropes!! My own characters fall into a lot of these as well. Look what happened when I tried this out with Alias:

im just feeling amazed at the internet and how anyone can make a story and then a whole multiverse can grow from it, so many different ideas and au's and gorgeous things and memories. you can practically build an entire universe right inside your head.
im looking directly at you humans are space orcs ❤️ /pos

Found family, but with the thickest layer of racial context in it. That's it, that's the trope.

List of tropes i want to see more <3
Anger as a trauma response, like if an oc has been abuse they are angry about said abuse/trauma. I see fear used often, and more sad emotions used commonly, but I prefer when a character is angry and goes lower than their abuser for revenge. (Ex. My oc, Violet.)
Morally evil ocs, like actual evil people. R4p1sts, 4bus3rs, etc. But if you do make people like this, DO NOT romanticize their actions. I have an oc who is heavily abusive to his wife, well 2 ocs like this, and their actions cannot be excuse because of trauma and I see characters being evil because of trauma often. But instead, I like seeing ocs that are just evil.
I see too much fear as a trauma response, and I see characters being traumatized to excuse their actions too much. I like evil characters, morally wrong, not morally grey, just morally incorrect.
But on top of this, have fun with your ocs!! Do whatever you please, when you have like 50+ ocs you tend to throw in every trope/character type you like.

With ocs, do you ever feel like you tend to use a trope a lot for the same character / who’s your favorite to write with what if that makes sense
I like hearing ppl talk about their ocs
Absolutely!
I've found that I use the amnesia trope a fair amount, I have three main characters who begin their stories with amnesia. I really like the vulnerability that comes with not remembering who you are and being forced to trust people who you may or may not have known before. It's also an interesting way to convey information via other characters catching the amnesiac character up to speed. Hiel from Trials of the Six and Killian from The Legend of Orian Goldeneye are prime examples of this.
I'm also a huge fan of the scoundrel with a heart of gold archetype, especially when it's also a character who would do anything for money. Something about that gruff, hardened personality hiding a bleeding heart just gets me. Especially when they go against their morals at the last moment and save everyone. Draven from Tales from Valaria is an obvious example, but this also applies to Korfel from Trials of the Six.
Also abrasive characters like Jas from The Legend of Orian Goldeneye or Raiann from Trials of the Six who aren't good with people and tend to cause most of their problems by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. I do this all the time irl and I find it so gratifying that these people on completely alien worlds make the same mistakes but with *slightly* bigger consequences.
There's probably more but those are the ones I can think of ;)

I love a character raised to be a weapon as much as the next guy. But what really gets me is a character raised to be a shield. Who can’t fathom being needed—or even being wanted— beyond keeping others safe. Who believe they are alive only to insure someone doesn’t die. no matter the cost. Characters who self-sacrifice not because they think they deserve it, but because no one else does deserve it, and it’s their job to protect.
Characters who’ve been told that’s why your important. Your worth something because this other person/ thing is important, and you are here solely to keep them safe.
Bonus points if it’s not a legitimate job they’ve been given. Maybe at one point it was, but now that they are free from it, they haven’t given up that mentality. No one is forcing or asking them to do this, but they need to. They need to in order to be deserving.

they're divorced. they weren't even married. this isn't romantic. they're definitely not platonic. they're cinematic parallels. they are fighting the narrative. they slowly built their relationship. they rely and trust each other. they were aggressively thrown into this. they want to bite each other's head off. they kill for each other. they live for each other. they should kiss. they would put each other in a blender. they're insane. they don't even realise. they're fully aware of it.
